fun fact from my own personal research: Racing Circuit actually uses the same engine as Planet Hot Wheels and STD 2's track builder! builds of Racing Circuit have been recovered (one from my own old childhood computer lol) and sure enough, it runs on the exact same engine and has a lot of similarities from a filesystem and structure standpoint. really goes to show that it was a successor to planet hot wheels in a way
What's funny is that the only hot wheels video game that I knew of before this video is not in here lol. I definitely enjoyed watching it though! The game is a GBA game that has an adapted version of both Stunt Track Challenge and World Race. I still play it from time to time to this day and would be happy to answer any questions regarding it (whether that be gameplay or anything else.) When you select Stunt Track Challenge it says copyright 2004 and when you select World Race or says copyright 2003, so I don't know from what year this cartridge is from. The cartridge is still in almost new condition.
Dang I dident see the one I remember from childhood on here all I remember is it was for game boy and the plot was that somone inside hot wheels hq fell asleep meanwhile the antagonist sneaks in the garage and steals all the cars, then you have to go out and complete races and sometimes time attacks and at some point you challenge the guys to a 1v1 to recover that selected vehicle. At the end of the game you have to go against all the bosses at the same time. I remember the game not being hard I would sit down and maybe beat the whole thing in theee hours.
Hot Wheels Velocity X and Stunt Track Challenge were so ahead of their time, and by far my favorites. They're not the best racing games in the world...no, that honor belongs to CTR for the PS1, but both HW games I mentioned were definitely the best of the Hot Wheels games imo.
Another note about the 2003 Hot Wheels: World Race game: it still has an active speedrunning scene to this day, which is absolutely worth investigating if you're interested in seeing just how utterly broken it can get. There was also a GBA version which more closely resembled the original Mario Kart than its console / PC version.
I mean, I'd argue the GBA game is more like F-Zero than Mario Kart Also, Stunt Track Challenge has a GBA version that is one of the few games that races in full 3D on GBA
Hotwheels Velocity X was such an amazing game and so ahead of its time. Had open world exploring with hidden keys and gears, races, minigames, and freaking lore. That game made my entire childhood. Wish that game got more attention.

Planet HotWheels takes me back. I remember there was a chat room feature when World Race came out; the other races you could play... There was a mini-game I was obsessed with too; the one where you were playing as a shark trying to eat other creatures and defeat a different shark... ugh, those really were the days.

It was only 3 levels long and had 4 different cars to choose from. They made a sequel to this one and I couldn't get far in that one. A game were you drive on a road on a cliff to gain speed and dodge obstacles to get to a stadium guarded by a robotic t-rex. You played as a monster truck and it was similar to the sled racing in Club Penguin. A game based on the hot wheels netflix show. You played as the kid in the yellow car and you chase down a giant bird on a beach.

I was devastated by the loss of Planet Hotwheels. That was my life for what seemed like years of my early life. I’ll never forget the “Planet Hotwheels Under Construction” sign in the summer of 2004 when I tried to show my family. So disappointing. I’d like to know how to get access to the mini games and the tracks from planet hot wheels, how can I find them?
I'll admit it, Hot Wheels: The World's Best Driver (the 3DS version specifically) is my guilty pleasure. I loved to drive around the hubworld as it expanded, mainly due to the features that unlock. Plus racing as each of the different cars, seeing how each fared on the sections of the hubworld made me play the game normally just to unlock the hubworld features, and then just play around for hours, paying no attention to the actual missions, or challenges. Plus, I actually liked the voice lines after getting used to them.
@@amichiganboiwhosereallazy1544 Yes, I even managed to fall through the floor inside the underground racetrack by clipping into the wall, and it was hilarious.
I’ve NEVER played a hot wheels game. When I was a kid, my mom thought hot wheels wasn’t for me. In which, I wish I could have gotten a hot wheels track. They look really fun! Also the only Hot Wheels game I DID play was a arcade one at Amazing Jakes. This was a interesting document on Hot Wheels, and tbh one of the best I’ve seen. I didn’t get bored in the middle of it.
My favorite was Hotwheels beat that because I remember getting back from elementary school every day and just playing it and always screaming “BEAT THAT!!!” At the top of my lungs when the game loaded.
Ok hold up…THERE WAS A WORLD RACE MULTIPLAYER GAME!?!? How am I just now learning about this!? It looks like the game I’ve always wanted! One that was more closely based on the actual movie. I gotta find out more about this! Dude, mad props on your research!! Seriously 👍
Hotwheel beat that is still the best in my opinion Also it featured many modes like stock battle which wasnt racing and just like balloon battle but better, the game had eliminator where you try beat a timer and not be the guy in last place or you are you are the car eliminated from race , the featured terminator where you just go on a mass killing spree, then theres normal racing and abit more on the aspects on the game that he left out that would be hard to describe in one comment
I grew up playing the PS2 Hot Wheels games, it’s what grew my love for cars and now I’m in college for game design! I’d love to work on a Beat That: 2! at some point
THANK YOU for talking about Hot Wheels Racing Circuit. I have seen way too many videos of hot wheels video games that just skip over hwrc like it doesn’t exist, it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia article. I remember having a blast with the game when I was younger, so thanks for mentioning it here. Btw: The guy who asked the question at 10:55 has a working offline version of hwrc with a download on their channel. You can’t change tracks, and in order to change cars you have to mess with the games files but you can play it!
Yup i tried to play it but could only do one track. Racing circuits demise of being so forgotten off the internet really sucks. Even the older Planet Hotwheels is far more remembered and preserved.
@@PolygonDonut Exactly! I’m actually looking into the game and figuring out how to change tracks, but the error logs don’t give me much to go off of. Also I specifically remember the green lantern cross-promo, and how the green lantern track was just a reskin of the Indy track. Always thought the promo felt a little forced, even back then.
9:18 i used to play this game as a kid and nearly 100%d it too but then i stopped playing it was a really good game ngl edit: i did revisit it recently and - there was no bowling alley, never was one either - the car select screen looked different - more so either i had a different version of the game or it had something to do with the fact that my mom thought that buying ds games legit was cringe
There is no bowling alley on the ds version. The ds version overall is a dumbed down version of the full game. The best version of the game is probably the xbox because its the most powerful console it was on
11:26 I remember playing these, i had most of them, i still might have them laying around somewhere but a few years ago i searched for them and didnt find them :( Edit: I also didn't remember the name of the games and thought im going insane but no apparently not! (which is good i think) I searched and found 3 people selling them for cheap and i might buy and play them
I also remember them, i know i have them still, maybe i should see if they work (i had actual different ones as well, some were with dinos but i think one doesnt work really, one disc with angry birds and some with animals on them
I remember playing World Race, Stunt Track Driver 1&2, Beat that, Track Attack, and several flash games on the website, man HotWheels was my shit back then. Also for the World Race game, some cars were licensed so they replaced them with existing HotWheels cars, while some would do well on the track like the Red Baron, and I recall the creator of world race mentioned that a water realm was considered, but the budget never was finalized so the comics and the game adapted it I think
I remember once playing this flash game about this one play set called “dr bones colour lab”, where you travelled around a top down environment, and the terrifying dr bones was wandering around the map trying to hunt you down. Idk what the objective was because when my 6 year old ass first saw him I closed the game and went up to my room to do something else because of how much he freaked me out.
OH I PLAYED THAT ONE, it was similar if not a reskin of another Game based on bf5, You had to get a series of objects around the map to win tho.... I never finished because dr bones got me scared and also i sometimes ragequit
OH GOD I PLAYED THAT ONE. I remember there being a re-skin Version of the game where it was an octopus instead of Dr bones which was way less terrifying
I played one of the hotwheels flash games not that long ago. Its still playable, but I forgor 💀 the name of it, and flashpoint (the program I found it on) removed the racing games play list it used to have.
I remember playing planet hot wheels as a kid every morning before school. Suddenly it just vanished and I never knew why. There’s other HW games in your video i played in the early 2000’s. Thanks for this great video.
The Hot Wheels Battle Force 5 Game Honestly Felt Quite Interesting as It Feels Like Something That Could Be a Special Arc of The Series... There Aren't any Replacement Voice Actors... The Cutscenes Uses The Show's Animation... And You Could Do Funny Flips if You Try...
I have some really good memories with the DS version of Beat That!. That version actually lacked the bowling stage, and the car selection was slightly different, almost giving the feel that the devs wanted version-exclusive cars.
If i remember correctly, i actually played Turbo Racing, Velocity X, Stunt Track Challenge, Beat That, Track Attack and World's Best Driver. Beat That is probably the first one i played, and i was only just a kid. Nostalgia intensifies. Issue is, all of the games were either downloaded online or emulated, which is why i played Velocity X and Stunt Track Challenge only last year.
I remember being like 8-9 years old going to a thrift store and seeing 2 in the package planet hot wheels cars, that came with the CD’s on both and one of them being the deora 2 and the other one being the “chemical energy car” and it had 4 of the hot wheels games you showed and seeing that again was a real nostalgia trip. definitely subscribed.
After all of that, the only game that managed to get close to the real HW 35 and Acceleracers series was Planet Hotwheels, because of the racing style and map design, World Race got very close but the tracks aren't like the movies. I also played a lot of Distance with acceleracers maps.. Its crazy that Mattel never focused on making racing games with the same gameplay as the movie shows.
Bruhhh I want more acceleracers content so baddd... There's very few movies or games that really capture that childish sci-fi racing like Acceleracers did.
Just a quick note on the Planet Hotwheels World Race track. The under water portion is actually from one of the pack in comics that came with the cars, specifically it details how the team learders got to pick their teammates
Does anyone remember a Hotwheels browser game from around 2008 that might've been an MMO? I can't seem to find anything about it but I swear I remember signing up for it. It definitely came out during the Beat That marketing campaign but it's not Beat That. I think it was 3D and ran on Shockwave, and the cars had some customizability. The game never ran fast enough on my PC to be enjoyable tho 🤣
One game that I still count because it was made in the dark age, is the official HotWheels Roblox game. Its an open world with many upgradable cars and variations of each, all of them having different stats. Theres multiple biomes, and you can also race other players in designated tracks. The goal is to buy and complete sets of specific cars, with money you get as you drive and win races, and no, there are no funny flips (but I guess you can still try if you abuse the roblox physics engine enough)
You missed the "Hot wheels computer cars" series of floppy disc games that I wasted so much time playing as a kid before Turbo Racing turned my world upside down.
They were barely games, but still worth a mention in a video with "every" in the title. It seems you, I, and some other anonymous thumbs-upper are the only ones who remember these.
Loved this video! I got pretty hyped when you mentioned the Fat Bax appearance because those silly cars were what got me into HW when I was 9. But just a brief correction: The Fat Bax were unpopular, but they are by no means rare. Last time I checked, you can easily buy all the cars for relatively cheap. Heck, the Fat Bax Silhouette you showed in the video is selling for $3.00 on ebay right now. It's not so much that they are rare, it's just that nobody wants them... except me!!! Why not, some context: In 2004, HW went a bit nuts, releasing all sorts of crazy cars (such as the Hardnoze, Blings, Tooned, and more) in a great number. Never before had a company released 100 new models in a single year. However, this discouraged a lot of the more "serious" collectors. They knew why Mattel was doing this. They needed to cater to a new generation being raised by Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Whacky and Xtreme were in, and if you didn't sell that, you were out. So, for the OG collectors, it was like "Really? Now I have to worry about spending money on over 100 cars to finish my collection? 100 unnecessary, ugly, cartoonish cars? WTF Mattel??" It worked, though. I fell in love with Hot Wheels specifically after laying my eyes on 2 Cool, a Hardnoze version of Evil Twin - I thought it was just the coolest thing ever. Started collecting since then. Glad to see other fans making content!
I had World Race and Stunt Track Challenge for PS2. For some reason I was thinking I only had one Hot Wheels game growing up, but I recognized both of the covers while browsing IGCD a while back, and now watching this I recognize the gameplay from both games as well.
your fast paced format and the overall goofiness of the videos that you make makes your content beyond amazing. i would love to see you make another one of these on something like radiohead or cave story
I'm not sure if I just imagined it or not, but I swear to remember some hot wheels flash game from the 2000s. It was story based and you drove around a pretty dark and grim city, with more "mature" themes (mature for an ~8 year old, lol). There were actual human characters whose designs were reminiscent of those from Acceleracers. I lose sleep over this weird criminal underworld hot wheels flash game I haven't seen in over 15 years and I don't even know if it's real or not.
Hot Wheels Beat That on a super old computer is what little memory I have of my early childhood, and even though i havent played it in years it's still my favourite hot wheels game ever. I still remember Power Bomb and the bowling alley tornado jump shortcut. Edit: It's been so long that I forgot my favourite car was Power Bomb, I accidentally called it Da Bomb, still remember it's design and using it.
12:04 FINALLY! AFTER ALL THESE YEARS... I HAVE FOUND THE NAME OF THAT GAME! I REMEMBER PLAYING IT for some reason on my pc even tho it never got released for pc as I can see BUT IT SURE WAS FUN AND FOR SOME REASON UNBELIEVABLY COOL FOR ITS TIME
8:25 I think I had this game as a really really young kid. I can’t remember much about it but I definitely remember using a similar wheel so that might’ve been the hot wheels game I had that I’ve been looking for as a now adult

I had the 3ds version too but i have no clue where the game card went for me

Beat that is very good yes
6:21 OH NAW PONGON DUNT HAS DEM SWAG GLOVES 😭😭😭
Ok hold up…THERE WAS A WORLD RACE MULTIPLAYER GAME!?!? How am I just now learning about this!? It looks like the game I’ve always wanted! One that was more closely based on the actual movie. I gotta find out more about this! Dude, mad props on your research!! Seriously 👍
Hotwheel beat that is still the best in my opinion
Also it featured many modes like stock battle which wasnt racing and just like balloon battle but better, the game had eliminator where you try beat a timer and not be the guy in last place or you are you are the car eliminated from race , the featured terminator where you just go on a mass killing spree, then theres normal racing and abit more on the aspects on the game that he left out that would be hard to describe in one comment
9:18 i used to play this game as a kid and nearly 100%d it too but then i stopped playing
it was a really good game ngl
edit: i did revisit it recently and
- there was no bowling alley, never was one either
- the car select screen looked different
- more
so either i had a different version of the game or it had something to do with the fact that my mom thought that buying ds games legit was cringe
There is no bowling alley on the ds version. The ds version overall is a dumbed down version of the full game. The best version of the game is probably the xbox because its the most powerful console it was on
@@PolygonDonut oh
@@PolygonDonut :(((
@@PolygonDonut is there a reason why the ds version is worse
@@dizzy_jump The ds is just less powerful and cant hold as much data
10:17 i want that game!!! im a huge fan of battle force 5!!!
I really like how you still remember Highway 35, old kids from 2000s forgot about them.. hope Mattel brings this series back
Ocean Vista in the World Race was supposed to be a part of the movie.
It was replaced by an Ice Level in the final film due to budget constraints.
We have funny flips..
So where are the *F U N K Y* flips?

11:26 I remember playing these, i had most of them, i still might have them laying around somewhere but a few years ago i searched for them and didnt find them :(
Edit: I also didn't remember the name of the games and thought im going insane but no apparently not! (which is good i think) I searched and found 3 people selling them for cheap and i might buy and play them
Me too but i lost them too....
This is hitting me right in the nostalgia. I grew up with Turbo Racing, Hotwheels Crash, and the Stunt Track Driver games
The only era a game like Hot Wheels Crash could come out is none other than before 9-11
I remember once playing this flash game about this one play set called “dr bones colour lab”, where you travelled around a top down environment, and the terrifying dr bones was wandering around the map trying to hunt you down.
Shoutout to the lostwave song that turned out to be an original composition for a Hotwheels game.
2:18 wait did it use the same explosion graphic as half life 1?
Polygon Is trying to introduce a new whole part of the internet. i respect that
Unleashed sequel is confirm but it's just a logo from a Twin Mill diecast
I really enjoy watching your videos they make me feel happy

If i remember correctly, i actually played Turbo Racing, Velocity X, Stunt Track Challenge, Beat That, Track Attack and World's Best Driver. Beat That is probably the first one i played, and i was only just a kid. Nostalgia intensifies.
Issue is, all of the games were either downloaded online or emulated, which is why i played Velocity X and Stunt Track Challenge only last year.
I remember being like 8-9 years old going to a thrift store and seeing 2 in the package planet hot wheels cars, that came with the CD’s on both and one of them being the deora 2 and the other one being the “chemical energy car” and it had 4 of the hot wheels games you showed and seeing that again was a real nostalgia trip. definitely subscribed.
i used to have one. the car is long gone, but i still have the disc. i remember the car was a silver truck with a cyberish paintjob on it
Always breaks my heart when a website dies so young in such a nostaligic time
After all of that, the only game that managed to get close to the real HW 35 and Acceleracers series was Planet Hotwheels, because of the racing style and map design, World Race got very close but the tracks aren't like the movies. I also played a lot of Distance with acceleracers maps.. Its crazy that Mattel never focused on making racing games with the same gameplay as the movie shows.
Bruhhh I want more acceleracers content so baddd... There's very few movies or games that really capture that childish sci-fi racing like Acceleracers did.
its cool how pongon still comments on his comments..... but wait...... HOW DOES HE TRAVER FROM MOMOPONGO ALL THE WAY TO MCDONO BACKROONMS?????????????
Just a quick note on the Planet Hotwheels World Race track. The under water portion is actually from one of the pack in comics that came with the cars, specifically it details how the team learders got to pick their teammates

Pongon could literally make a 16 minute long video on the different types of grass and we’d all listen
Hotwheels showdown? I had one level left to beat it when it shut down.
@@Show_My_Name_Not_My_Handle Me too! i own a Computer Cars Hydroplane
WTF Mattel??"
It worked, though.

11:46 | Why does the map on the bottom right look like an Among Us crewmate?
