Mattel brought in toys that were actually meant for something, like toy cars and the famous Mattel thunder-burp, the first toy gun ever, and the marking of the start of the new era. I remember they also had a Halloween theme one with the same idea. Completely forgot all about these until I saw them again
So about the hot wheels eggos, They actually existed, I actually ended up having my mom buy them at a walmart sometime when I was really young, like pre-school and kindergarden levels of young when I was obbsessed with hot wheels as a toddler. The box was the exact same as in the picture, with the two eggo hot wheels in the picture on every single waffle. I legit forgot about this until this video came up too which goes to show how obscure the eggos were. They existed at some point 100% sometime in the late 2000's.

I think an underappreciated element of these things are the weird cars they make for the little track toys. You can get them dinosaur themed, there were cars specifically made for shooting at a shark, and I seem to vividly recall a line of more futuristic looking cars that were built to go down this little track thing built like a city with a giant guy that punched down some buildings or something on the track.
Silly hot wheels are one of the toys that defined my childhood. We got coupons for them all the time so my mom bought me at least one pretty much every week for several years, and I had hundreds at one point. Eventually Lego replaced hot wheels as my favorite toys, but they were still loved for many years. I get nostalgia every time I see kids playing with hot wheels cars now :)

3:32 NASCAR fan here. That is the exact paint scheme used by Ricky Craven driving in the NASCAR Cup Series from 2002 to 2004. He had only two wins and not a lot of good finishes, but had one memorable finish in particular. In the final laps of the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400, Ricky Craven ran down race leader Kurt Busch getting side by side with him coming out of the last turn. Craven beat Busch to the finish line by only 0.002 seconds. It was the closest finish in NASCAR history at the time and is still tied for that honor.
Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” is one of the most well-known philosophical concepts in history. As such, it only makes sense that numerous filmmakers would try to incorporate this philosophy into their movies. But what exactly is it? And why does it work so well in the context of filmmaking? We’ll look at this concept as well as several films that have incorporated it excellently. It’s time to find the sun. Virtually all philosophy descends from Plato. And this particular piece of philosophy routinely comes up in discussions of how humans perceive reality and whether there is any higher truth to existence. This is a concept pondered and considered for thousands of years and we're still nowhere closer to an answer. Naturally, this is great material for literature and film. We'll go through this allegory in detail with examples from movies that were clearly inspired by Plato's cave. First things first - what is Plato's "Allegory of the Cave"? Plato’s "Allegory of the Cave" is a concept devised by the philosopher to ruminate on the nature of belief versus knowledge. The allegory begins with prisoners who have lived their entire lives chained inside a cave. Behind the prisoners is a fire, and between the fire and the prisoners are people carrying puppets or other objects. These cast shadows on the opposite wall. The prisoners watch these shadows, believing this to be their reality as they've known nothing else. Plato posits that one prisoner could become free. He finally sees the fire and realizes the shadows are fake. This prisoner could escape from the cave and discover there is a whole new world outside they were previously unaware of. This prisoner would believe the outside world is so much more real than that in the cave. He would try to return to free the other prisoners. Upon his return, he is blinded because his eyes are not accustomed to actual sunlight. The chained prisoners would see this blindness and believe they will be harmed if they try to leave the cave. Despite being centuries old, the allegory is appropriate for filmmaking. After all, the audience watches images on a screen. We’re meant to believe it to be real, but we know it’s false. Only when we step out of the theater back into reality can we take what we’ve learned in the cinema and apply it to our lives. But don't just take our Allegory of the Cave summary at face value. You would greatly benefit from reading it yourself.
i played with hotwheels so much and remember having some rare ones, but i got rid of most of them and i regret doing that so much now. Ive bought a couple new ones just for nostalgia. Loved those things
Everytime I watch a video by you I forget you're the same person, so it's nice to know I'm already subscribed lol. Thanks for inciting another hyperfixation for me (even tho I'm on adhd meds and that shit rarely happens anymore)
Holy shit, I used to have one of those rare McD's variants, specifically the Lightning Speed one at 8:25. I think I buried it in my grandparents' old backyard somewhere in my old hometown.
Back in the far back year of 2003, hot wheels made possibly the best children's movie ever (despite the ps2 lookin ahh graphics), Hot Wheels Highway 35. I found it on vhs at a thrift store when i was 2 years old, back in 2007, and honestly not only did it get me into hot wheels, but is probably the sole reason i love cars so much. Even if you don't care about hot wheels I'd still recommend you give this movie (and it's sequel series, Acceleracers) a watch.
I grew up during the "Beat That" and Battle Force 5 eras of Hot Wheels from the mid-2000s into the early 2010s. Always good to see more Hot Wheels content on the site. Never see a lot of it unfortunately.
4:27 *I HAD ONE OF THOSE!!* I was what, about tree or four years old at the time? I remember being so confused by this car that it get carved in my memory as the ghost it looked like...😓
I can't believe you didn't show off the Hot Wheels car that was designed specifically to have a GoPro on it. It's probably one of my favorite cars, simply because the POV vids fucking slap.
i love these types of videos, you should do more. its always fun to hear you talk! first it was about the meaning of weirdcore and now its about hotwheels, seems as if youre evolving. awesome.
My dad was a full on carnivore when I was younger, so we'd go to target like every day to get meat. They had a dollar bin of hot wheels and i got one every time. I remember I had that fidget toy thing and I'd bring it in the bath because it was light blue. Anyways, I don't know where it is now.
Hot Wheels managed to bring out the inner petrol-head in me. Something that I didn't even think was possible. Looking back on my 2000's collection, I think most of my collection consisted of old school muscle cars, like the 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback. I used to have a metal flake green one back in the 2000's, but I lost it along with the rest of my sets and cars. I re-started my collection in 2018 and it has grown exponentially ever since. I even found a new Mustang to replace the one I lost 20 years ago. :)
You know, this should be a great format for a documentary series of 2000s or so toys. Like, Bakugan or Beyblade Or Lego. Seriously, I found you today and I already LOVE the editing and jokes, it's brilliant!
My modern favorite Hot Wheels models are Custom Small Block, and Brickin' Trail. These are building block vehicles that you can mix, and match parts to create new vehicles, plus, there's Brickin' Speed, a race car that ties into the unique play pattern of the other two. Also, I love the Corvette, and I always collect more than one example of each new release, and color.
I was a 5 year old hot wheels mega collector I've amassed countless hot wheels through out my 16years and ill count down the 5 that I can remember off the top of my head. 1: the shark car (blue) 2: the Yoda car 3: a purple van with flames on it. 4: a rare golden car I got from a mystery set And 5, the carbonator.
I only have one Hot Wheel, and it's one I got in 2004 from a McDonald's Happy Meal. It used to light up from the inside when a switch was flipped on the bottom of the car, but even though the battery's now dead and unreplaceable, it's still my favorite style of Hot Wheel. I had to do some research to figure this out, but it's a 2004 McDonalds-exclusive Hyperliner from the Blings series. I love the boxy style and huge wheels.
Yoo I got one of these when I was a little kid and my family was on vacation in the US. It was the coolest thing ever. I don’t know if I lost it, but when I checked my bag back at home, the car was gone. I’ve never gotten my hands on one of these again.
This video really influenced me to go buy a couple of Hot Wheeles right now. You have such a funny and energetic personality, as well! Fantastic video, and I like your name!
This was a really fascinating and entertaining video.👍 I just want to say about the Baker's Dozen donut cars is that I don't believe they were marketed specifically to girls, but rather the pink box was to emulate the prevalent use of pink donut boxes along the American West Coast.
When i saw the hot wheels 50 years documentary, I just thought to myself 'yep I'm collecting these now' I wanted to get like a thousand, but stopped at around 70 because I stopped being interested. So now i have something like 350€ worth of hotwheels sitting near me as I type this
The Hot Wheels car, Coupe Clip, is a keyring (/keychain depending where you live). I thought it looked stupid when I first saw it too, till I realised that's what it was supposed to be. And it has been on my keys since then, I think its pretty cool now.
My favorite Hot Wheels to collect are off road vehicles and big ass trucks. I got a Dodge Macho Power Wagon with Batman on the side and a super cool Dodge Challenger with an American flag paint job and the engine jutting out of the hood. And an all silver Suberu BRAT. Those are some of my faves and I keep them on my dresser. Now I’m interested in the Hot Seat with the rat and the Sudster with the crocodile. Thanks for bringing those to my attention!
In a hot wheels unleashed OK maybe it doesn’t have the same stats but come on it’s still invisible well at least if you want on the tracks in real life

I love hotwheels unleashed too but i just kept it simple and used world race. I will do a video on hotwheel games soon tho where i talk about all of them
I really love hot wheels and own more than 120 of them, AND WHEN I SAW THE TITLE IT’S SO ACCURATE, I LOVED TO BUY THOSE WEIRD ONES AS A KID. Sick video!
You would greatly benefit from reading it yourself.
i feel smart just reading this
Wrong vid?
Wow, this comment made me dumber!
I do quite enjoy Plato.
Sorry this is the wrong video
i played with hotwheels so much and remember having some rare ones, but i got rid of most of them and i regret doing that so much now.

Im always on some kind of hyper fixation lmao, i take it out by making videos on them like this. Actually puts the mental illness to good use LOL
@@PolygonDonut Isn't there another Yoda Car but with Yoda's head with wheels ?
Holy shit, I used to have one of those rare McD's variants, specifically the Lightning Speed one at 8:25. I think I buried it in my grandparents' old backyard somewhere in my old hometown.
So maybe someone will find an valuable treasure somewhen.
I have Lightning Speed.
Thats why those toys just disapear into the void lmao, we be doing sum crazy shit with them
@@karolkarol5788my hover deloreain disappeared into the void 5 years ago and reappeared 2 years ago

After watching this i got hit with the remembrance of the best hot wheels show that ever existed, Battle Force 5. Truly a masterpiece of its time
Always liked Cat-a-Pult. A rather heavy car with such compact design kinda fascinated me.
Honestly i love this kind of videos
The vibe you get is like you're at a Friend's house (or school) and you're talking about how cool are your toys
Acceleracers based

I grew up during the "Beat That" and Battle Force 5 eras of Hot Wheels from the mid-2000s into the early 2010s. Always good to see more Hot Wheels content on the site. Never see a lot of it unfortunately.
The donut cars being sold as a baker’s dozen is pretty funny
4:27 *I HAD ONE OF THOSE!!*
I was what, about tree or four years old at the time? I remember being so confused by this car that it get carved in my memory as the ghost it looked like...😓
Man I wasted 11 minutes of my life watching this masterpiece of a informative documentary.
9:10 I think it did. I do remember my parents coming home with something that looked like this before
I can't believe you didn't show off the Hot Wheels car that was designed specifically to have a GoPro on it.

I think we had the same one with the same color

I still collect hotwheels, and I'm 21 years old. Hotwheels was my childhood. And I love cars in general.
This man rambles about hot wheels and I love it keep it up broski 👍🏻
it's rare that a single video on a channel makes me want to instantly sub, this was the exception. This is my kind of content for sure
THANK YOU!!!
You know, this should be a great format for a documentary series of 2000s or so toys. Like, Bakugan or Beyblade
Or Lego.
Seriously, I found you today and I already LOVE the editing and jokes, it's brilliant!
Thank you so much!! I already have some more similar videos in the works :)) also nice ideas, i love bakugans and beyblades
3:13 this is a certified 💀 classic
Theres a hotwheels race competion in my country
And this one get banned somehow along with chevy pick up and go pro car
2:37 i gagged at that 60 fps gif
My modern favorite Hot Wheels models are Custom Small Block, and Brickin' Trail. These are building block vehicles that you can mix, and match parts to create new vehicles, plus, there's Brickin' Speed, a race car that ties into the unique play pattern of the other two. Also, I love the Corvette, and I always collect more than one example of each new release, and color.
3:56 So nostalgic. I will never forget the battle force 5 cars 😌

I was a 5 year old hot wheels mega collector I've amassed countless hot wheels through out my 16years and ill count down the 5 that I can remember off the top of my head.
1: the shark car (blue)
2: the Yoda car
3: a purple van with flames on it.
4: a rare golden car I got from a mystery set
And 5, the carbonator.
Sounds very cool
Yoo I got one of these when I was a little kid and my family was on vacation in the US. It was the coolest thing ever. I don’t know if I lost it, but when I checked my bag back at home, the car was gone. I’ve never gotten my hands on one of these again.

I just want to say about the Baker's Dozen donut cars is that I don't believe they were marketed specifically to girls, but rather the pink box was to emulate the prevalent use of pink donut boxes along the American West Coast.
Yeah maybe, i just wanted to jab at sexist marketing most toys have LOL

This is what makes hotweels awesome though, the fact that there are so many different kinds of cars.
When i saw the hot wheels 50 years documentary, I just thought to myself 'yep I'm collecting these now' I wanted to get like a thousand, but stopped at around 70 because I stopped being interested. So now i have something like 350€ worth of hotwheels sitting near me as I type this
You don’t want a thousand. You don’t stop there, and soon you have no place to put any of them, but you still buy more
The Hot Wheels car, Coupe Clip, is a keyring (/keychain depending where you live). I thought it looked stupid when I first saw it too, till I realised that's what it was supposed to be. And it has been on my keys since then, I think its pretty cool now.
I have one myself. They also come in Cherry Red.
I have one aswell lol
My favorite Hot Wheels to collect are off road vehicles and big ass trucks. I got a Dodge Macho Power Wagon with Batman on the side and a super cool Dodge Challenger with an American flag paint job and the engine jutting out of the hood. And an all silver Suberu BRAT. Those are some of my faves and I keep them on my dresser.
Now I’m interested in the Hot Seat with the rat and the Sudster with the crocodile. Thanks for bringing those to my attention!
