    In most cases, replacing the indirect injector also helps with code P0420 on an LML.

    I know this is a stupid question, but how do you move that black clip that holds that coolant line that appears to be mounted to the injector mount? The black tubing is in the way of the bolt that holds the injector mount

    This is the first one I have heard of failing by leaking, they tend to fail by plugging up and fail giving a p0420 code. I think 7/8" is the same as 22mm so it is one of the few sizes that can be crossed over to metric use. They make a special tool for sensors that is the right size and won't slip like an open end wrench if you have trouble getting it out.

    replaced the clamp from downpipe to exhaust, 9th injector and is still leaking diesel from where the downpipe and exhaust meet at the clamp. Diesel is dropping onto hot exhaust causing white steam. Did you have to do anything else or did just replacing the injector work for you?

    I am sure you found out that your downpipe vband clamp was your smoke problem. The diesel fuel sopposed to flow past the clamp into the cat. Fuel heats cat up to flow hot exhaust to clean the dpf. When you have exhaust leak at the vband clamp. Diesel fuel leaks out the exhaust leak. GM has a updated clamp with a gasket to solve the problem.

    It’s not bad on factory I did a egr dpf delete and tune. I’m assuming I don’t need the ninth injector anymore

    Thanks for the information and video. I’m ordering parts to repair my leak.
    Mine just started doing that. Leaking. My truck seems to take a long time to complete its regen cycle. I’m guessing it’s because it’s leaking the fuel so it’s inject longer to make up for whatever amount it’s loosing.
    How did your regen cycle differ before and after the repair?

      Ec Palafox the regen cycle was honestly still the same, I just try to go on the highway when the truck is trying to do one. With city driving its hard for the truck to complete the regen

    Really interested in how to go about deleting the lml at home. Always assumed I’d have to take it to a shop, but am now considering doing it myself to save labor costs

      It’s easy if you have all the right tools at home

    Good video. I’m in the process of changing 9th injector. Have everything disconnected and at the point to using that orange specialty tool. Seems just need to open that orange tool and wedge into those little white tabs while sliding up the fuel line. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to tug or push to separate while its in there. I’m missing something but don’t know what

      Did you figure out how to release that damn disconnect? I’m struggling.

    • @BikesnBBQ
      @BikesnBBQ 2 года назад +3

      @@chiefbmac5149 I figured it out. I used that specialty 15 dollar tool. You have to slid away that black little ring thing and then press the tool into the grove. It’s awkward but after some finagling it just popped out. Note: when you get to the point of installing the new injector you’ll be surprised how easy it is to snap back into place. It almost felt too easy but it worked. I can’t believe I did that install with the tire still in place. I’m getting too old for that contorting.

    Just curious were there any other steps required, like a service regen or anything needing a Tech II shop computer?
    I've been having DEF poor quality, plus tank heater, P2BAD, P21DD, now P20EE, issues for like a month and a 1/2. Replaced the tank heater, along with DEF injector and feed line while I was in there, twice drain and filled the DEF. Now with the 2nd limp mode its at the Chevy shop....they said its the 9th injector. Strikes me odd since they placed it 2 1/2 years ago and now its "bad" again....

      I had a similar experience with my 2011 LML and the dealership. I finally figured out the thermostats were bad and not letting the engine get up to the correct temperature. That fixed my problem, maybe give it a try.

    Hey so my 2011 was doing the exact same thing yours was with the smoke and leaking green fluid. So I just got done replacing the 9th injector and went for a ride and it’s still smoking. Does it take some time to stop or am I missing something?

    • @DMAXROB
      @DMAXROB  Год назад

      Do you have the oem down pipe or an aftermarket one ? I found out that aftermarket one that I installed the welded bug wasn’t allowing the injector to seat all way so I run a tap in it then it was fix.

      Thank you for the confirmation. I figured it may have been a bad injector just squirting a stream instead of pulsing when I saw the diesel on the wrong side of the pipe even after realignment and new clamps
