Oof, glad I swooped in and bought a Jace deck from War of the Spark when I did... ...because I do enjoy Guildpact Informant. If anything, it was Thrummingbird being a pain to track down for the most part for me. Plaguemaw Beast and Evolution Sage are a couple others I like as well, along with Contagion Clasp and Contagion Engine. Most unfortunately, my thirst for proliferation cannot be slaked with just budget options. I'm a +1/+1 counters kind of guy, so besides some Tarkir block (don't remember which set) dudes and some Strixhaven dudes, there's also Oona's Blackguard (Morningtide), who grants combat damage discard triggers to your guys modified with plussun's.
I was going to suggest Viral Drake but.... It WAS $1 and change but it's crept up to almost $6 now. I'm shocked that there was no mention of Evolution Sage. Landfall proliferate is WAY too good to pass up and it's still fairly budget at around $1.50.
yeah the stirctness of the budget let a lot of things slip through BUT it allowed for me to discover some really fun jank! yeah love Evo Sage, does work in my vorel build

Ezuri Stalker of Spheres, Cankerbloom,, Contagions Clasp, Roalesk, and most of the instants/sorceries with proliferate are well under a $1.
