Using a carb sync and a Gunson colortune can really get the bike running smoothly. The colortune will show mixtures in the cylinders and you can visually see the rich/lean burn in each one. For the FJ you always want a richer mixture as it keeps cylinder temp down. Keep the great videos coming.
@@reneverheij6938 depends on how you ride the Yamaha fjs. They are air cooled and running them lean to get more power means they run hotter. Out on the highway at speed this is fine. However if tuned lean and ridden slowly in traffic on a hot day they can over heat and cook rings and valve guides. So running them on a slightly rich mix keeps the temps in the safer range when doing slow riding on extreme hot days.
@@carsonharding9852Makes sense! I try to never get stuck in traffic jams with the FJ. I kind of want a temperature gauge so I know when to shut it off in time.
Haven't done this with my FJ yet but I only do this when the idle is rough, the higher the RPM the lower the differences will be relatively speaking. So if you get it near perfect at idle it will always be really good at higher rpm's.
You should do a video on adjusting the carbs on the R1 just the idle screw because i cant find mine lol. All the forums say left side under the tank there is a thumb screw but idk.

Why do you want the cylinder temp low though? As long as it doesn't overheat it's fine, right?

I found out that I had a vacuum leak on cilinder 1 with this device.
