Jus added a generic K&N and cut the nostril inside. I notice the bike idles a tad bit less and when riding enters "eco" mode more frequent. Though dyno ppl say eco mode doesnt really do anything. The sound a big significant better and im happy with it. Though i have an Ebay exhaust. I dont plan on flashing ecu, due to people complaining loss off gas mileage. As long as your sensors are top notch the air fuel ratio will be regulated well
Hey Tom, detailed video, thanks for that! What did you use as fork cover at the front? (I mean the part of the fork above the fork bridge, not the gaitors). Are those the OEM plastic tubes by Yamaha? Thanks in advance.
Please correct me if I am wrong and I am guilty of putting in a upgraded air filter too. But it does not make sense to do this here is why yes you get more air in the box but with EFI regulates how much air goes into the combustion chamber. Yes their is a difference but does it justify the expense that’s up to you.

Yes totally agree with cutting the tube off and great video mate, did it improve the performance?
I remember fitting one of these filters to my old R1100GS.
What a pain in the ass just to change the air filter. Love the bike though.

40mm (I think) black plastic waste pipe, Very cheap!
@@gringotom242 Ah yes, thanks. Do they wobble/Did you have to put O-rings on both sides?

Was performance better after you trimmed the air filter housing seal?
Hard to tell from just riding around. A bit I think.
Cutting the filter housing tube might make the motor run a bit lean.
Whats lean???
To much air= lean
Wouldnt it be electronically controlled. I was told the way to run lean is if fuel purge is clog. A tech told me more air can start fire much easier
