    It's advantages over the xcarve and shapeoko are:
    X Y Z Ballscrews
    15 minute installation
    No computer required
    Control with phone, tablet, or gamepad
    Faster cutting speeds
    More rigidity

    If you ever needed the extra 1/2" in height that you lost with the T-track board, you can mount your DWP611 higher in the spindle bracket to compensate for it. Mine is mounted about an inch higher than yours (the highest you can go without hitting the top plate that the switch mounts to).

    These videos are super helpful in seeing exactly how to set things up and why. Thanks so much!

    Thank you for a brilliant series Ben. I've been looking high and low for a comprehensive comparison and this certainly answered most of my questions. Internet connectivity in Africa is very expensive and sometimes unavailable so running any kind of web based cad program is not practical. What I don't know now I'll teach myself once the machine arrives. Regards Wayne.

    Of course, the Shaepoko (or the X-Carve) can cut slots for t-tracks in the table. You can place them wherever you want them.

    Create your own grid on table using the router and a very fine v bit.

    It would be cheaper to make your own. Who doesn't have MDF hanging around. The t-track are cheap if bought online and screws\hardware are cheap as well. I might make one myself. Good information. Thanks.

    Saludos, en su opinión ya que tiene ambos modelos, ¿cuál sería la mejor inversión? X-carve o Shapeoko? Gracias

    TY you for sharing the video it is very cool and I have the T track just delivered. I wanted to ask since I saw this on another video where they suggest applying lacquer if you are in a high humidty area. I'm setup in a garage where it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Do you think that is a must or leave it?

    Hi, I didn’t notice during the video. How did you manage the holes below the side rail when fitting the MDF boards?

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  5 лет назад

      I kinda tilted them at a 45° and did it with long bit.

    Doesnt look like it is possible to surface the shapeoko track kit for a flat waste board.

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  5 лет назад

      you can! just don't go so flat you hit the tracks!

    I have been looking at a Shapeoko xxl. Do you find you make large projects that need the xxl or would an xl be enough?

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  6 лет назад +1

      I’m cutting 2x2 wooden signs now. My tip would be, buy the biggest one you can fit and afford. You can always cut smaller, but you can’t go bigger!

    I have one on the way for my Shapeoko. You never showed how you resolved the screw issue? Also you mentioned the loss of clearance. Does that make it less than the clearance of the x-carve? Is the holes in the x-carve wasteboard something that would make you buy it over a Shapeoko?

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  6 лет назад

      Your right. I missed that part. I ended up driving the very side screws last at an angle. Wasn’t to bad. Part three will show off clearance differences. I think the holes in the waste board with threads gives the vanilla version a leg up over the shapeoko if you prefer to use clamps when you hold down your pieces.

    • @ManCrafting
      @ManCrafting 6 лет назад

      Myers Woodshop the vanilla version? I’m not sure wether that’s the Shapeoko or the x-carve. So does adding the clamping wasteboard make the clearance less than the stock Inventables?

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  6 лет назад

      The t tract table gives you less clearance. By vanilla version I mean strait from the factory without add ons. I think the xcarve has a better wasteboard than the shapeoko strait from the factory.

    • @ManCrafting
      @ManCrafting 6 лет назад

      Myers Woodshop still not answering the actual question. If I have the new waste board on the shapeoko, will the clearance be greater than or less than the x-carved clearance from the factory.

    • @MyersWoodshop
      @MyersWoodshop  6 лет назад

      Hey sorry. I guess I didn’t get it. I’ll have to measure to let you know. Off the top of my head I The shapeoko has a lot more clearance without it than the xcarve. My guess for now is with it it’ll be about even. But I’ll go measure it and get back to you with exact specs.
