Outstanding editing on this video. People don't get enough credit for such tedious work. Also using the ratchet straps was genius. Thank you, I learned something today.

Like the style - very modern and neat. Was wondering - instead of buscuit joinery or dowel at the curve joint - why didn't you inter-digitate the bench and curves. Extend the curves in a flat line by say 10cm and reduce every 2nd bench slat by 10cm - much stronger join. I am assuming this is to support body weight. Or is it a display bench? Just a thought not a criticism!
Yes, I had planned on doing that but then changed course at some point. I think if I were to make it again I would do something like that. Thanks for your comment and thanks for watching.
exactly, i would hate to see the piece fail at the biscuit joint. even a shallow tongue and groove would strengthen it, a long sliding dovetail would be difficult but very strong and could make an interesting visual additional
Thanks, Ken! I agree, I love watching traditional woodworking as well. I'm a bit of a tech guy too so that sneaks into many parts of my life. Thanks again. I appreciate you checking out the channel!
Nice piece of furniture but the computer generated wood cutting is not wood working. I am sure someone can make the exact same piece of furniture the old fashioned way.
Thanks, Vernon. You are right, this piece could definitely be made with hand power tools. It could even be made well with just hand tools. In the description I have a link to the former. I like tech stuff too, so a mix of computers and wood working is fun for me. Thanks for checking out the channel. I appreciate you watching.
its called a cnc or computer numerical control, you could also read a book by candle light, instead of using you computer with your electric. Doesnt mean its wrong
@@noireblack8865 it really gets my goat how dismissive people are about cnc power tools jigs, like if you use any of them the finish product quite literally made its self and u the maker had zero input. 12:55 Really cool effect during hammering. The frame rate matches up with your hammering, and it makes it look like the plug is moving by itself while you hammer in slow-motion.
I once made a curved pieces out of plywood. I did it by a jigsaw and a router. It took me forever to finish, and the process was pain in the as*. Good for you for having a CNC.
@@LastLegWoodworks thank you giving the time to respond to my comment though i thought it was a long shot ... for that you have a new subscriber on board 😀

I've made a good amount of money from my x carve. thin, expensive plastic under tension and I always pray i remembered my tabs haha. can't wait to use it for plywood projects like this 👌
Last Leg Woodworks they finally updated the software too, i was emailing them to implement a higher travel height. That became an issue where pieces would bow up when the cuts lessened the structural integrity of my pieces. And going back home to avoid clamps which im sure you can relate to lol
man, I really have some issues lately on how to spend my time. so I can tell guys, we are enjoying one of the best wood workers on yt. Belive me, I know them all. A robot is drawing for him, so what else is there to say.
I see a lot of comments from this week. Did this video suddenly get a truck load of views? Love the bench btw, it's convinced me to get a router CNC instead of a laser one.
It’s actually on its way down, the views peaked about two weeks ago at a little over 90,000 a day. I couldn’t believe it on a year old video. I actually just got a laser attachment for the X-Carve. You can carve with the router, and then switch right over and run the laser. I’ll be doing an installation video in the next couple of weeks about the laser. I agree though, if I had to choose I would go with the CNC router. Thanks a lot for checking it out, I really appreciate it.
Oooh, look at me, I have more equipment than NASA, and I built a bench! ;-) Only kidding! Amazing process, and interesting to see how delicate the joints look, but still the bench looks rock solid in the end! What a beautiful piece of furniture, well, furniture ART that is!
WOW, this is so satisfying to watch! Just ordered a fully loaded x carve and I dont really do this but I hope you dont mind me asking questions in the future. This deserves a sub from me man.
I do not understand why I feel like I was in intense therapy after watching this video, I feel rejuvenated, thank you so much. By the way, your craft is wonderful.
Honestly, I envy the work! In a good way, no jealousy involved, just pure good envy! I'm glad that others like me have time to create things that are "hand" made (CNC is hand made) :) All I can say - good job, and thanks for sharing, great video recording and edit! Love it, gives me ideas..... (I'm a beginner in CNC router world) :)
I built Shaun's version last year, and it was a fun build. I did like the idea of the walnut inlay. However, I was concerned about 3 biscuits holding those seams together. I would worry about it not being able to handle the applied weight.
Thanks for checking it out, Jeffrey. I haven’t bought a domino joiner yet. It’s on my wish list though. That said, with the amount of surface area and the three biscuits, I think it’s plenty strong. We’ve been using it in our house for the past several months and so far so good. Thanks again for stopping by. j-
Thanks! I will send the dimensions. I also still have the easel project saved for the arcs and the small spacers. If you’d like it I can share it with you.
