I'm just in the process of setting up my Shapeoko 3 XXL, so this video couldn't have come at a better time! Great tips!
You are a god sent for shapeoko videos! Thank you so much for all of your help!!
Fantastic information, Mr. Myers. Waiting for my machine, but this was essential knowledge to note of ahead of time. Much appreciated.
My XXL is in the box ready for the shop! Building the bench in the morning and machine tomorrow afternoon! Bought your wasteboard, flattening, clamps and fence files off of Etsy earlier this week! Thanks for your great videos and info!
Thanks Ben! A bit basic for me, but the "Losing Connection" tips made it more than worth while. Definitely earned a 👍. Did not know about the USB Sleep, and didn't think about static electricity from the vacuum.

I live in Canada and discovered there is a Canadian seller fir the Shapeoko XXL. So I pulled the trigger and ordered it today. I was going to order a V-Carve until I watched your videos. Thanks for your comparisons.
Thanks, you helped me learn more about the shapeoko XL.
Just bought the XL yesterday, thanks for the info!
Thank u, great video
Mine is on the way. Thanks for the tips!! New sub! I've been 3D printing for a while now and was looking at another printer when CNC popped in my head.
Another SPOT ON VIDEO!!!
Thanks for the video. The problem I have is not that the plunge loses depth, but that it seems to not pull back far enough and eventually starts machining the waste board. It's actually got a lot worse since fitting the Dust Boot. All belts seem tight enough.
Good video for beginners. The Carbide Create is changing very fast and some functions like the tool library have changed function and location as well as how to edit them. I have your spoilboard and fence design as well as the cam clamps. I like your design and highly recommend using your design. Keep up the good work. I also subscribe to your youtube channel. In your workshop tour video you mentioned that you have stopped making your colored pencil bowls due to health reasons. Perhaps a good video on Shapeoko dust collection and safety with the CNC would be a good subject for a future video. Thanks
Proprietary files are a PITA and lead to people going with other options. Better off IMO to go with standard motion programs that load files from any design CAD program. Hopefully the makers of Carbide Motion will learn that and make it so that standard files can be used with it.
For woodcutting waht is the ideal rpg and how long can i use the router without pausing
We love your videos, thank you so much. We recently purchased our first CNC, and the biggest thing we're struggling with is speeds and plunge ratesfir different bits. We've read so much online, but its very confusing. Any help you could give to simplify this for beginners would be great 🙂
I've been having the plunge depth issue since I got the device.. I even contacted shapeoco about it... they didn't give me this correct solution! Thanks very much
Love @
Thanks for the video. I'm a beginner, no experience at all w/cnc, trying to learn all I can about the cnc to scan and carve an object with lots of 3-D design. I would love to get your opinion on how I could do that. Thanks for your time.
