  • Tasmania has been a regular stop on the Supercars Championship roster since the 1970s. In this video, we’re looking back at the last pre-COVID crossing back in April 2019. It’s always a big logistical effort to move the team’s freight to the Apple Isle, with the transporters from three states of Australia loaded onto a cargo ship in Melbourne before crossing Bass Strait, and then making a short trip to Symmons Plains Circuit south of Launceston. They then do this trip in reverse order after the race weekend. We documented a small part of this process on the return trip to Melbourne, capturing this footage of the Supercars Championship race transporters arriving back on the mainland after an overnight trip from Toll’s terminal in Burnie. Toll kindly allowed us access to film the Supercars trucks rolling off the Victorian Reliance II RoRo ship.
The transporters appear in this order:
    Tickford Racing - International ProStar
Garry Rogers Motorsport - Volvo FH16
    Tickford Racing - International ProStar
    Team 18/IRWIN Racing - Kenworth T610
    Supercars Championship - Kenworth K200
    Kelly Racing - Mack Superliner
    Supercars Championship - Kenworth T610
    Erebus Motorsport - MAN TGX
    Kelly Racing - Mack Superliner
