Wet Bulb Temperature Measurement Reading - www.youtube.com/watch?v=2265U... Авто/Мото
Props to you for drilling a hole in your intake for the sake of science. And also for putting aluminum tape in your intake runner. I know the stuff is super sticky, but it still would’ve made me nervous.
Watched your two videos on blow thru and cooling effects. Thank you!
What happened to this awesome content? I’ve learned a lot from your videos. We all want more videos of the car too lol
Sold the car and got out of drag racing
I think most of the cooling you were seeing when you were blowing air across the thermocouple was the water and the e85 boiling off . With the e85 creating the lowest temperature because of it's more rapid evaporation.
Cool video!
Rowland Butler correct sir that is the latent heat difference between water and E85. Quite a big cooling difference
Kinda new to the blow thur stuff and I’m just going to put a on3 turbo setup on a n/a 500 hp engine, what all is needed to build a basic turbo system
Water Boils @ 212° F at sea level, @ higher altitudes it boils @ a lower temperature, due to that the higher the altitude lower the ambient air pressure.
Water will actually boil when put under a vaccume and the temperature will drop significantly. what's happens when a liquid goes from a liquid stage directly to a gas stage [ evaporation stage ] the temperature drops.
Now your wondering what dose this has to do with the subject matter, everything... Becuase it the same thing that's happening to the fuel inside the intake manifold, fuel is going from liquid state to a gas state, evaporating, causing the temperature to drop significantly...
This is the principal of refrigeration, it is what happens in the evaporator in an air conditioner, even your refrigerator...
Jose Cuevas, can you tell latent heat of vaporization?
THE YOUNGER GENERATION OF RACERS HAVE it so eSy but they also have it so hard you are blessed with the flex of being able to hop in the internet copy and past don't forget to "FALLOW "a known combo and literally tune off messages...... "im not saying you are" ....
You actually have a clue on what is what and why ..... if the younger crowed wanted to build a quick car or make there car faster in the days when I was alot younger we had to pay alot $$ and still not know what was what why or when .. guys didn't share how to's or tricks so resource and knowledge built was learned or if lucky your uncle was a engine builder and crew chief and tuner for two different nhra race teams one a top fuel the other a pro stock . So I learned from him working for him during summers and after school . He saw I had a passion for speed and said the key to power lays in this room open the door and there was a old blue flow tech 600 series with knows switches , guage, hoses , hoses exc exc in the room inside that room was a dungeon with a seat tons of light and aluminum/steel/copper shavings everywhere with a grinder motor with a ext and more carbide bits sandpaper rolls scotch Brite exc everywhere and a gas mask looked like it was stolen from Hitler himself . Asked me what do u think these two rooms are for I quickly said this looks like some grinder of sort and the machine in the other room looks like a hospital room without the bed so he taught me how to use the dungeons and the hospital tool aka flow bench needless to say I was 13 when I drove my first car to school the day I finally got my DL it still had the rac re numbers in the window from day before drag session and the 10.321 time slip in glove box along with couple dozen more not to many kids hell I haven't met one yet from my era that there first car ran low 10s all day long and in 1990 10 second street cars was a fast mother fucker with alot of respect trust me especially being 15yr old
Is that the USS Midway in the video?
Great info as I’m doing a blow thru set up as well.
Thanks
Bro Jangle yes it is
Tittan1500
I’m just down the street in National City is why I asked
Cool test. I'm doing a blow thru also on e85 with no intercooler as well. What size carb and jets are you using?
Bobby McCraw every carb is different they were like 115 in the back and 72 up front
@@tittan1500 cool thanks yeah I know. I'm starting with a 70 but only have a 85 in the back lol
So what’s the conclusion on your typical 500-700 hp street car do you need to cool a properly built blow thru
tim i would say no on e85 for sure
93 octane 500 no problem but 700 on 93 you would want all the tuning room you can get
Is this a good set up for a streetcar / daily driver.... or is it different because your only running quarter miles
Street car 100%
@@tittan1500 lol thanks bro u don't know how much money your saving me well actually you probably do lol
I would love to know what kind of fuel regulator you are running to keep up with the amount of boost your car was running in the last video I think it was 26 psi
River Brooks Magnafuel 665-MP-9633
tittan1500 thank you a lot I’m starting to build a camaro and I want to do a blow thru setup and it seems like people think it’s impossible to run anything over 11 psi of boost
River Brooks yup no problems. Lots of guys going crazy fast on blowthrough. I would start with a good builder for the carb like CSU if you need a carb still
tittan1500 I need all the help I can get I appreciate it my family is all nitrous that’s all my dad has ever ran I’m building this car for street and strip trying to out run him haha
What kinda mpg do you get on e 85?Just curious .
leroy tapia i was rolling about 14 mpg even with the carb 5.3 engine
Have you had any overheating issues? When cruising or in traffic?
Nope
More to my previous comment:
You may think, Oh but the intake is under boost. But guess what the pressures in a refrigeration system is exponentially higher than any turbocharger or supercharger can deliver. And yet evaporation still happens, it the difference in pressure that causes evaporation, it's the same difference in pressure that causes fuel to be drawn from the fuel bowl and out the booster venturi...
You realize watching the 1st ten minutes of this video (that's all I watched) you never once said what you were trying to accomplish? Why not name it 1 or 2 or watch the other video first? It absolutely made no sense to me and I still dont have any idea of what you were trying to accomplish.
Jimmy Jones Your the best
@@tittan1500 No, Tuner and Mark are a lot better than me. I'm speaking to you purely about your Conversation Skills. Take it as good advice.
Jimmy Jones I am proud of you!
