Even thought im a nitrous car (for now) it is hard to cut a good light on a Pro Tree trying to roll into the stage beams then get on the transbrake. This will allow me to bump in and already be ready to cut a good light! Thank you again! Have a blessed one brother!
This just saved me a headache of working out the relay wiring myself that is awesome. I'm not building boost yet but it will help me get to the 2nd bulbs on the trans brake easier.

@@tittan1500 wanting to build a sleeper with a blow threw I have a brodix 498 bb along with Neil chance planting the power in a t400 I got the motor in car along with turb manifolds running a single 88 precision in my 2008 srt8 300 Its been so long since I ran a carb I have 4150s or dominators going to have to go to school on tuning fuel any dos don'ts???

What is the top relay in the diagram going too? I see the second is to keep 2step on while on the Trans brake.
If Im not mistaken the ssr relay can be used without the use of the other two relays. 12 volts into ssr on load side. output on load side of ssr to trans brake. ground out of ssr on trigger side. run switched 12 volts to t brake button out of t brake button to timer and 2 step (timer will power on when pressing t brake button activating t brake because of timer setup to keep output on when no trigger) and out of timer to ssr trigger input. run same switched 12v power to bump button. basically the ssr will be fully activated through the timer when t brake button held. timer will take 12 v ssr trigger away when bump button pushed . correct me if im wrong.

you can only use bumpbox in a automatic transmission with transbrake? Or you can use it on manual 5speed stock trasmission too?

Ok I'm confused the parts you listed are the same one on amazon but cheaper than your site, And the parts on the video are different with relays and more parts. Can I just but the ones on amazon and not need all the relays now?

Thank you for posting this.. I have a question. How would I hook this up to megasquirt3 gold box? Which uses a negative trigger. I am having a hard time wiring the SSR.
Stephen Aiden , Provide power to the SSR trigger side all the time and the ground of the ssr trigger goes to your input
Stephen, You can wire this as is for the actual activation and bump feature for the trans brake. I am assuming your needing the feedback into the MS3 to tell it the brake is active correct? You should not need to have the computer activate the ssr. In any case for a ground trigger output you would power the device (the + input of the ssr all the time and the - input terminal to the MS3. Then when the MS3 box activates that output the SSR will activate.But wiring the SSR direct to MS3 would eliminate the bump feature of the timer. If I remember correctly the MS3 has a PWM channel you can hook up to provide a smooth bump feature so you probably don't even need this DIY box.
I run a boost controller that using the transbrake to start boost stages.The controller runs off of grounds and not 12v would this setup be able to bump using grounds as well.

the wireing diagram is different from the the wiring in the video worked for me once and shorted the solid state relay....... transbrake output in the diagram is opposite then how he has it in the video
How would you tie in a line lock/roll control to this setup? So you dont rock back, and forth at the line.
claytonhaske most guys just drag your brakes a bit when bumping. Or set the bump small so you don’t get the rocking.
It’s much easier to get a smooth bunp with the Simple Stage so if that’s what your looking for I suggest not doing the DIY unit
Right on man! Thanks for sharing this, ordering parts now.. Im ready for some bodacious turbo bumps. How many rpms are you staging at ? I wonder if there is a noticeable difference in bump distance with increase of rpm and also going from a sticky surface to a virgin (not sticky) surface. Now just make a $30 electronic boost controller and im set haha
Adam E in this video I was like 3400 and 8 lbs ish. On. The track i turn it up to about 12-14 lbs on the brake and it will bump farther. Have not had issues bumping to far yet.
If the bump gets to aggressive as you turn it up, set the timer faster so the bump is smother
tittan1500 what trans and trans brake are u running? U otta get in contact with the company who makes the timer and give them the info they need like parts and diagrams and setup etc to make a bump box package and have an throw a little kick back your way. Worth a shot anyways ha
Adam E I am using a turbo 400 with a JW trans brake.
I have given some thought after seeing the response to the video to seeing if the timer manufacture could make a timer that is pre setup.

I tried this and even with the timer set to 1/30 of a sec which is minimum setting it was too violent of a movement. But i make a lot of power so maybe thats the reason

Can you make a video on how to switch polarity to ground for trans break I got it working but it sends 12v instead of ground I was reading over the comments trying to figure it out
MOSES ARREDONDO Moses instead of providing power to the output of the SSR just run the wire from the brake to the positive terminal and the - terminal to ground. Polarity is important so pay attention to the markings . Good luck
Do you have any more info on using the cruise button for the bump box activation. Is there a pinout by the ecu that you are tapping into or what? Would like to do the same setup on my f body.

Wes Walker it should The timer is rated from 5-20 volts and the ssr is from 3-32 volts
I was looking over the wire diagram. It shows it using the negative wire from the trans brake.
My trans brake uses the positive side (with case ground). Will this work just the same?
Rob Rohe yes, I included the - symbol because that’s the marking on the SSR. It is still a positive 24v. So just hook that to the Tbrake and the other t brake wire to the case.

in your video the trans brake output is on the other side and 12 volts is on the negative different from your diagram worked for me one time then shorted the solid state relay
Ok I have this set up on the bench went to test on the bench with relays. Powered + to bump button doesn't bump touched it to ground by accident and the light flickered. Is the bump button supposed to be ground ? Or did I do something wrong ?
Daniel Vela you provide +12 to make the bump signal
If it’s wired per the drawing you might be in the wrong timer mode. Also note with my settings it bumps when you press and On the release of the button is when it moves.
You can change that but it works the same.

How do I make it to where its a negative signal from my transbrake so I can tie it into the input on my holley super sniper
The automotive relay for the 2 step signal would go to the sniper input , instead of applying power you hook one side to ground and the other side to the sniper input
@@tittan1500 ok so instead of bringing power from the arm switch I'd just take that wire to ground and then when the transbrake is activated it will then send a ground signal

I'm a bit confused from your diagram...or just dumb but the drawing has switches wired in parallel but video seems they are in series could you further explain also relay wiring I'm lost on
Logan Doise The arm switch is in series with the bump and transbrake button. It’s a series parallel circuit.
If you shut off the arm switch it disables the circuit
I got you so if my trans brake has a constant 12v and I need trans and bump button to send to send ground signal how would I wire the relays sorry for the questions just trying to make sure before I pull the trigger

If you can ground your solenoid then provide power to the solenoid when you want to activate the brake that will work no problem
It's an fti trans brake I need it to send a ground to initiate my 2 step bc of the ecu I'm running (not stand alone ecu)

You must observe the polarity of the SSR.
Your trans brake is already powered so you run the wire from the trans brake to the OUTPUT + terminal of the SSR
Then the OUTPUT - to ground
The relay connections are confusing 85,86,87,30 go where?
Bert Jackson 85/86 is the relay coil aka what activates the relay contacts
30/87 is your normally open contact
What is a bump box?
Eli G it allows a turbo car to release the trans brake for a short period of time to allow the car to creep forward into the staging lights. This allows the turbo car to leave with power and not wait for the turbos to spoil up

I made this and it bumps when you let go of the button, not when you press. Is that correct?
Craig Bricco that’s how mine works too. You can change that if your want it’s the trigger setting I think in the manual
