    Well I'll be dammed. I think i finally get it. You are boosting the float bowl and making the much larger PV adjustable as to when it opens under boost. Kind of opposite a draw thru boosted carb. Staged PV's is something I never knew about either. Are other other types of carbs that are compatible with blow thur?

    Hey,i generally never ask anyone questions on here,but ive built alot of blow through carb combos an im curious if u have ever seen fuel pressure effect the boost pv before the bowls r pressurized by boost,say ur valve is set to open at 3 psi but u have 7 psi of fuel pressure pushing against it,have u had the valve open prematurely,i set em with compressed air and they usually come off the seat around 2 psi and flutter then by say 6 they r wide open,so i add a couple turns to try and compensate for fuel pressure so they flutter at 5 psi and r fully open by 10 give or take,just curious if u have seen the same things and set em up accordingly....justin

There are slim to na video's of convertion's period but, the one's I have found are for dedicated track carb's. I know I need to pull the choke and mill it. If running a normal power valve, you shouldn't need to do any modifications to the PV, other than increase the channel sizes for more fuel.. right? With your BRPV system, you block off the vacuum hole, how does boost pressure get INTO the BOWL side to open your BRPV? The boost then squishes the ball open from boost entering through the vent tubes?

    • @tittan1500

      Correct

    • @tittan1500

But I like being able to tune my own stuff. So while we are on the topic what types of floats will I have to use and is it possible to run e85 with this blow threw carb mod? GHT RCP ya you can do that, but the curve will not be as linear.

    So 8 PSI of fuel goes in the carburetor but let's say you're pushing 10 psi of boost wouldn't it push the fuel backwards? is there something you do to stop this

    • @tittan1500
      @tittan1500  Год назад +1

      Pressure from the boost fills the bowls through the vents so you always have more pressure “on the fuel” than after the booster

  • @dielauwen
    @dielauwen 5 лет назад

    Plug the power valves altogether. Add a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump capable of providing 20 lbs more than the boost pressure. Up your jet sizes 4 or more sizes and possibly put smaller air bleeds to increase fuel flow at higher engine speeds. Noone seems to address the problem of insufficient fuel flow and pressure. The needle and seats must be the largest you can get or maybe drilled out a bit ,Use the plastic floats they won't collapse. For alcohol consider spraying additional fuel into the boosters like fuel injection.

    • @tittan1500
      @tittan1500  5 лет назад +2

      dielauwen Everyone uses boost referenced fuel regs these days man. Stock bowls on e85 can get you to around 700 wheel and dual needle and seat bowls are on the market that support more than most people can afford.
      On a blow though deal making any power just squaring the jets and blocking power valves is a good way to buy a bunch of pistons.
      Sorry man but that is terrible advice

    • @dielauwen
      @dielauwen 5 лет назад

      Most Racing carbs do not use power valves. Holley still does. There are no Motorcycle carbs that have power valves that I know of. Just jet for best power . So why do you say it is bad?
      And to create high power under boost the airflow needs to be much greater so Carb size needs to be increased. It becomes a choke .They are not designed for the flow alcohol needs so just add squirters for high boost.

    • @tittan1500
      @tittan1500  5 лет назад

      dielauwen these are not naturally aspirated motors. Air flow in a turbo motor is not a linear deal.
      In automotive carbs power valves on street / race cars are most common. This lets you drive clean and maintain safe AFR at different loads.
      Boost makes this even more critical, when your part throttle and the boost comes in your going to go very lean if you don’t have compensation.
      Drag cars sure you can roll just big square jets, just don’t expect it to street worth a dam or peddle the car.

    • @dielauwen
      @dielauwen 5 лет назад

      I see you have not worked on foreign cars which have no power valves on the carburetors.
      It is simple to set the carb to follow a set mixture for any given speed, load is not even considered. Small engines need to make power at any rpm. You can set it to be lean anywhere on the scale or rich anywhere on the scale.Or correct mixture for least emissions.
      If you are looking at gas mileage why did you build such an engine? To get a better mixure under pressure you need a much larger carb to flow the air in a more linear range.
      Put a 1050 Dominator on your engine and see how it does.
