You should watch Engine Masters on Motortrend. They did an episode on blow threw hats. Which was the best and even how the direction its pointed could affect the carb signal. I was blown away how just that would throw everything off.
It might be a good idea to get the same style carb hat at 2:11, cuz I know when Ericthecarguy built a boosted SBF and he had significant power loss with the same style carb hat that you're using.
All of my blowthrough experience has been with C&S specifically carbs. But I will say the throttle bracket you have will bend the factory pedal from spring pressure! Team z makes a bolt in pedal for our cars.
I’m excited to see how this turns out. When I see a blow through setup, whether it’s turbo, or supercharged, reminds me of the rare GT350R’s that Shelby supercharged. It’s just a badass looking setup.
Excellent, the brpv will allow you too more stair step your fuel. If your running 10 psi or something it may not be needed(it helps provide fuel over a broader range of operation). Pretty nice carb. E85? -multiply the charge cooling. Tuning I would cruise around and determine the vacuum compare to primary pv stamp. If your new to it, you may want to run around na / disco your charge pipe. Set the floats do the idle then get the accelerator and pe ciruits dialed also, I would do the bowl vent tubes in from the start of boost. Put the charge pipe on and just roll in. You can put a ms on that harness and actually control timing and even use tuner studio to determine how rich/lean(%) you are. Use a wb. If you already have the gate in a known safe spot and known good ignition capped then you will be good, have fun. fr I always start out with what a Holley comes with on a 650dp for jets na I would bet your with 10 jet sizes 2jet size is a small change. Make the air bleeds smaller if going e85 if it was tuned for gas and vise versa. Glhf
Very interesting, looks like a awesome setup, for sure a old school setup, looking forward to see what the difference between the setups for the Calypso and how it performs on the street.
I run CSU carbhat with a demon blowthrough with venttube extensions on a weiand 7515 excelerator intake it drives really well I would definitely get a better carbhat
back in the late 90s i did a carb swap on my 86 capri and used the 155lph in-tank pump. I also used the factory computer and distributor. I had to run a mallory regulator with a 1/2" return line to get the pressure down low enough. The setup worked good though.
Funny you gave a shot out to OMG ... I thought of Bill & his extensive Carb knowledge as a great source for any hiccups you may encounter along the way.. 🙌🙌🙌
It's funny I actually was contemplating on doing this , but decided to just install the Holley terminator and a custom tune on my supercharged 306 , I can't wait to see how this turns out .
I’m looking into a Holley ultra xp soon. I like what it’s saying on the parts list and I don’t even want to think about trying to tune an edelbrock afb style carb. Mine won’t see major boost but a ram charge intake MIGHT hit 5psi and better safe than sorry
Dude we must be in correlation with each other lol, literally just sold my Holley systemax a couple months ago and switched over to carb, finishing up a few touches
Check out Steve Morris video on blo thru set ups, he was doing this stuff in the 90s, Steve has forgot more than bill knows on src, great folks with great videos tho,
I have gathered all the suggested parts for this swap however I have a question about the distributor. I was led to believe that a 85 standard transmission Foxbody distributor (from a few other sources)will replace the EFI distributor. Upon inspection the 85 is approximately 1/2" shorter below the steel gear than the EFI however it will still fit 1/2' over the oil pump shaft. Did I miss something and waste my money?
Bought a 87 fox body has bigger head's and a small cam that don't even know size.. owner made it carbureted when he rebuilt motor.. carb is bad have to pour gas thru top to turn on.. it's a holly carb.. 600 single pumper.. should I get another holly carb 600 or what do u think
What is your crank case ventilation setup? Just a straight up vent on the oil fill? PCV valve? I have a similar setup and trying to figure out a good way to vent the crankcase.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Total Seal told me gapless rings will only last maybe 15,000 miles on the street. They don't recommend them on a street engine. Does contain the boost though👍👍😎
I can read everything but your reply to me. They're blocking my edits. I added the ball part #. Seems like we used a toilet float or something way back when. Be creative 👍👍😎
One thing for sure you can't go wrong learning from old man's garage... even though they run for money he doesn't mind showing little tricks..

I love Old Man's Garage. His videos helped me get my carb dialed in.
Don’t stop with just the carburetor, go full retro and get that dual point distributor installed!

It's going to work just fine. Glad to see someone doing something different for a change. Once it's tuned, you'll never look back.
Excited for this setup doin the exact same thing and stoked to see the steps and knowledge that comes from it

That is going to be an awesome setup!!! That carb looks awesome too! Can’t wait to see how things progress!! 💯👊🏾
rubber hose vent tube extensions work great. TurboJohn has a lot of good videos on this.
This is gonna be a badass setup, looking forward to following Calypso changes

You need to source the vacuum line for the regulator below the carb, i have my intake drilled and tapped below the carb

Leave the Holley in to control spark, fans, any other I/Os and also monitor vitals and datalog.
👌😎
Finally I’ve been trying to figure out what it takes to go blowthrough!
I’m looking into a Holley ultra xp soon. I like what it’s saying on the parts list and I don’t even want to think about trying to tune an edelbrock afb style carb. Mine won’t see major boost but a ram charge intake MIGHT hit 5psi and better safe than sorry
If you have any questions you can message me my 93 is a blow through and I’ve been as fast as 880s in a quarter I also put 30 psi through a demon carb
Dude we must be in correlation with each other lol, literally just sold my Holley systemax a couple months ago and switched over to carb, finishing up a few touches
Wow, I’ve been searching and searching I just installed my hot side and turbo on my 393w foxbody,, I’m also going blow-through
Good Video As Always Man!!
Make sure you have at least a 3/8 return line if not you will fuel pressure creep up at Least it did on my car after the carb setup
good tip!
Brew said he has 6 return said he might go 8
@@hotrodray6802 I had 1/2 feed and 1/2 return because of fuel pressure creeping up while running efi fuel pump

Do you plan on upsizing the turbo eventually? I know you mentioned before that you thought the turbo was too small for that setup
Pretty cool💪
Do not use a liquid filled gauge under the hood of your car. The heat effects the readings.
I’ve noticed that 👌
If it’s anything like Andrew’s car, it’s gonna run like a scalded cat! 🦊
They should race eachother again carb vs. Carb. Revenge of Calypso but with a Carburator this time.
Love the walking dead picture.

If you run that tube extensions you will not need that adjustable power valve because you will be so rich on boost
That 347 in the carbon would be nasty b
this joker is FUEL crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does it run good with that carb, I know you done fired it up 😁 just a thumbs up will do if so 😜 Im not tellin 🤐😄
👍👍

Just venting to the atmosphere through the valve covers. This car has gap-less rings so it doesn’t have very much blow by.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY Thanks! Excited to watch the EFI to carb setup videos!

Are you still going to be using ur Holley for the boost controller and everything else?
Yes sir!
Check out powerblast plates for carburator on RUclips
If you don’t mind me asking why did the Holley not work for you?
Nice!
Don't know what made this come to me but has anyone ever seen a dual 4 blow through set up?? I just wonder if it's even possible?
Whatcha gonna do with the edlebrock?
Might have to change the name to blow thru fox.. ive accidentally called it that 3 times now.
What fuel-pump are you using
What vent tube did u use
How would you go about using ur factory distributor when going carbureted
You don't. Most people switch to a Chevrolet style HEI dizzy

Wow. YT deleted my post and Brew2L reply.
All I did was throw a part number and supplier for the part.
Thanks YT. 🤬
figures he’ll try it again
99s!?!?
Nice regulator!
