As we all know, cats are very crafty and clever, and the plastic poultry netting is easy to chew through. You really need to stick with the metal wire fencing (even cheap chicken wire works).

I'm concerned about the purpose being for you to leave for ten days. A cat gets very lonely after about 8 hours, and leaving them alone without a house sitter for this long is not a great way to care for your cat.
