I love those racks. I have a word of CAUTION: one of my cats got her leg caught between the rungs & fell over the side of the shelf! She screamed (it was horrible!) & thankfully I was able to rescue her before her leg broke. 😳😳😳😳😳 Please, cover the rungs of the shelves with something (sheet of firm plastic, cardboard, etc.) so your cat doesn't get hurt!
Yes! I had the same happen to mine. I had such a hard time getting the foot out and I thought for sure it was going to break. My other cat was freaking out coming at me while that was all happening because my cat was screaming. It was horrendous.
I truly appreciate you and Ninteen81 sharing your experiences. I'm a new cat parent (as of a few months ago) and I always knew I wanted to catify. All the kits with those rope and rung bridges look cute but it never would've occurred to me that they could be so dangerous! Because of you two (and I swear another person saying their sister's cat actually did die this way and they came home to find them.) I bought a kit with a bridge but immediately put a thick continuous piece of cardboard over the top of the rungs secured with construction staples and then fabric secured on top of that so the rungs are just one long walkway from platform to platform. My boy loves it and is up there all the time! (and he's safe!)
Same thing happened to my cat on a wooden slatted bookcase. I was also able to catch him and release his foot before he broke his leg. Would have been a spiral fracture. He limped for 3 days. And I suffered a bite to the hand. I fixed those shelves immediately!

I'm always intrigued by the suction cups, because I know my cats would love being in the window, but I never trust them. For one, I've yet to meet a suction cup that holds long term. But also we have a 17lb beast who traumatized himself when he managed to rip a cat shelf off the wall that was mounted with 4 drywall anchors. The cats like getting to the shelves in the most challenging/absurd ways they can think of/holding wrestling matches up there. Now our huge cat has taken to curling up in the bed shelf and planting his feet against the wall and pushing. Like homie could you not...you're going to break it again...
I hear ya’…I have one large cat and the smaller ones tend to double up on a shelf. Also, my old house has single pane windows (not safety glass)…even if the suction cups held, the glass would NOT.
i have one of those window seats that use suction cups bought from amazon. i have two big boys that like to jump in and out and sometimes share. it has not budged once. i was skeptical but had it recommended by a friend. had it in one spot for a while, it didnt move. moved it to another spot a few months, and it still hasnt budged. i feel like it’s gotta have something to do with how the weight is distributed bc its pretty magical
My partner’s cat would just bite at the suction cups and play with them while he was sitting on the hammock… then they would fall off and he was always so offended by it. Like my guy, *you* are the problem

Hi! First of all, thank you for your videos. You're a great resource for new and potential cat owners who also live in small spaces. I live in a studio and I used to think that I can't possibly have even a single cat with me here, even though I really wanted one. But your videos helped convince me to get a cat, and I am getting him in January! And on that note, do you have any suggestions on how to utilize walls for catification? wooow you open my ideas, and for this i realized i am not ready to get a cat, but good news my birthday coming up in august, so its a project i can work on before i get my cat
I have used bookcases and IKEA furniture of various heights to create spaces for my cat. This is really important in the computer room, where i spend most of my day working on my thesis. I ended up having to put more beds on my desk, so my cat would be happier near to me and not want to lay on my keyboard. Unfortunately, we have no real window sills here in our apartment, so the way to the window is to use my desk. However, she does not bother me so much if the window is open, she will just go back and forth. Unfortunately it is winter, and I will not freeze to death for the cat to go out on the balcony for two minutes every 15 minutes, so she sometimes decides to let me know she is not happy about the window being closed. On the balcony we have a fold down table we leave up all the time so she can sit on her perch there and watch the world around her. I am trying to figure out something I can make that would allow her access to the balcony during the winter through the window. We rent so putting in a cat door is not an option.
I love Jackson Galaxy and have learned a lot from his videos, but I’ve always been slightly daunted by the prospect of hardcore catification. I recently moved into a decent sized one bedroom apartment and my budget is very tight, so I need to be very mindful about which items I buy to catify my place. I have shelves that a cat might like and the beginning of an area where the cat can navigate from ome place to another without touching the ground, but I definitely need a couple of cat trees and maybe a box or stool or something. If I’m gonna subject a cat to apartment life, I want to make it as enriching as possible.
Thank you for the suggestions! Do your cats like and use the cat wheel? I am thinking of getting one, but they are expensive and I am not sure if my cats would use it or not. Do you have a video on the cat wheel and your experiences with it?
Its so strange to to me that you’re not allowed to put a screw in the wall in america. Here in Germany you don’t even have to ask for such small things. You just have to cover them up with filler when you move out. But anyway this Video is really nice and understandable:)
No, we (Americans) are allowed to put screws/nails in the walls in most apartments, too. I think some apartment complexes have rules against using screws/nails past a certain size, but as long as they don't leave large holes when you move out most places will let you use them.
how is this video have less than 10k views? the video is aesthetically pleasing and the sounds is clear too. maybe you need a better thumbnail? idk but this video deserve better
Such creative and helpful ideas! Wondering if your cats use the running wheel. I paid $200 for a really nice one and my kitty only uses it to sit on top of it! Hoping she'll grow into it ha
Here's an idea of a super cheap catification that worked well with our cat in our small rental. Me and my husband used to store cardboard boxes (like monitor or sound system boxes) on top of large wardrobe that came with the apartment. So we took those boxes and stacked them between the side of the wardrobe and the wall (there was a 30cm gap) to create a staircase to the top of the wardrobe and now it's our cat's favourite sleeping place. Alternatively, the boxes can be glued together with cut out holes, so the staircase would become easier and more exciting to climb.
@@monsieurtn that's true, and the come with the stuff we need to buy anyway 😂. Plus, they can be painted or decorated with wrapping paper in case they become an interior eyesore.

I wld like to know whr u got that “bubble-type window hammock”..?… I hv a 6 mos old bengal. As mch as I love him, he can b un-nerving at times, biting etc. i use interactive toys (his fave is the DaCat wand w the bee). I play well over the interactive time recommended but he still can get “feisty”. I hv stationery toys, but those dont interest him. Nor do track toys w ball. Ive spent alot of $$ (chewy and amazon) only to learn he loses interest rather quickly. Its the interaction he wants, which can be exhausting throughout the day. Im doing my vry best to keep him entertained, running around w him, wands, etc etc. I just bought the onefastcat wheel, which u recommended. Fingers crossed.
For the record, jackson galaxy isnt a licensed behavoirist, hes just experienced with cats in the shelter and home environments. Still, he gives solid advice
My Bengal cat will go on the cat wheel everyday! The other cats will go on it occasionally every couple of days. It's for super active cats. For lazy cats, they will need some training to get use to it! Check out my cat wheel guide: monsieurtn.com/complete-cat-wheel-guide/
Hi! It's just a generic rack that I found here in Korea hahaha! But if I find something similar i'll definitely add it to the page! Also, new videos in the works - was moving apartments, so that a bit of a stressful time. I'm almost finished so more videos coming soon!
I saw you had a tall gate for your door, I reviewed your articles but saw no mention of it. Can you share what gate you use to barrier the cats from the next room over?
Hi! Thanks for your comment - yes I do have a quite a tall gate (my Bengal cat still jumps over it though). My gate is about 49 inches but the tallest that I've seen being sold online 41-42inches tall. It's pretty effective at keeping most cats out though. I linked just added it to my website: monsieurtn.com/product-review/recommended-apartment-cat-products/#Cat_Gate/Room_Separator
I need help! Question: While I was cleaning her litter box my new rescue kitty pooped in two different places on the carpet. I read/heard somewhere about how to use baking soda to clean up cat poop on carpet but can’t find it now. Where to begin? Do I scrape up & discard most of it first? Then what? Pour baking soda over the damp area underneath? Then what? Help!
In terms of cleaning - yeah scoop up/scrape as much as you can and then clean that area as much as possible/best you can. It's the first time I heard about baking soda to clean but it wouldn't hurt to try since it's not harmful.
Really Nice ideas, appreciate it. After watching the Video i realised i already catifyed My Home enough c: But i have another question: How can i Help My Cat ( shes a Special needs one, i got her when she was already 6 months old and all she did in her Life Till Then was hiding Beneath a Kitchen and Beeing scared ), with boredom when she doesnt know how to really be a Cat. Dont get me wrong we made alot of progress till now, but it Breaks My Heart that she Cant Play and doesnt get it... You might have an idea?
@@monsieurtn I just read it and i think I'll try to change her daily routine a bit and try some of the linked Toys - thank you so much, not just for answering but also for the incredible work you do. Most of the article I already knew, but maybe the routine is going to be the Key!
That's a lot of Cats. Wow. I have one cat. She is one today. I let her go in and out. I still struggle with the kitty box. It's just gross and a mess. I wish there was something to improve on this. That doesn't cost hundreds. Ya know
It's the soiled litter, that causes your house to stink. Use nonclumping litter. Just scoop out the poop when you see and flush it down the toilet, and dump the litter into the trash every morning, wash the box out and pour fresh litter in. You'll get used to it.

TY to anyone for any answers, opinions...! :)
"keep your walls free of damage in your rented place" you forget we all already have cats.... lol
What does he use to hold the baskets on the door?
excuse me monsieur tn, did you make that animation of the room coming to life? If so i am very much intrested in how you did. I would appreciate a reply, thank you.
i love these tips but a lot won't work for my 8kg+ cat unfortunately
I love your videos!!
Where did you get that white door enclosure or gate?
Can you please post a link to where you purchase your cat auction beds?
Also, your videos are fantastic!
Hi! You'll be able to find most of the items I use here: monsieurtn.com/product-review/recommended-apartment-cat-products/
How to you deal with furr? I have 2 white persians kitties and there's furr everywhere even if we brush them daily.
You have a long haired cat and everything you own is beige. You are hardcore.
I wld like to know whr u got that “bubble-type window hammock”..?…
I hv a 6 mos old bengal.
Thanks for your comment! For Bengal cats, they are naturals at using the cat wheel! I think it will help a lot with his energy level! Good luck!
A piece of yarn, twine, any strong string, a big button and wham you have a cat toy. You can either hang them or play with them and your baby. That
For the record, jackson galaxy isnt a licensed behavoirist, hes just experienced with cats in the shelter and home environments. Still, he gives solid advice
“It’s easy, it’s simple.”
What I’m thinking of: “Simple, Easy, Awesome”
Less expensive sounds better than cheaper
That's cool!
Do your cats acctually use that running ring on the back? ive been thinking of getting one for my cat, but not sure if she'd use it!
My Bengal cat will go on the cat wheel everyday! The other cats will go on it occasionally every couple of days. It's for super active cats. For lazy cats, they will need some training to get use to it! Check out my cat wheel guide: monsieurtn.com/complete-cat-wheel-guide/
Where can I find that same cat crack? I checked your site too but didn’t see a link for it. Please and thank you.
Sorry Rack*
And ps: hope you make some new videos soon it’s always been tons of help love them .
Does anybody know where to find cat clothing with cool designs
Maybe have two litterboxes so the kitty can still use on when you clean the other
monsieur tn Thank you!
iknowyouwanttofly Thank you!

How can i Help My Cat ( shes a Special needs one, i got her when she was already 6 months old and all she did in her Life Till Then was hiding Beneath a Kitchen and Beeing scared ), with boredom when she doesnt know how to really be a Cat. Dont get me wrong we made alot of progress till now, but it Breaks My Heart that she Cant Play and doesnt get it...
You might have an idea?
Hi! Thanks for your comment! I understand your concern! I wrote an article on my website that might help: monsieurtn.com/why-doesnt-my-cat-play/
@@monsieurtn I just read it and i think I'll try to change her daily routine a bit and try some of the linked Toys - thank you so much, not just for answering but also for the incredible work you do. Most of the article I already knew, but maybe the routine is going to be the Key!
Title of the Video: ... Catification
Autosubtitles: "Kind of vacation", "qualification", "canification"
That's a lot of Cats. Wow. I have one cat. She is one today. I let her go in and out. I still struggle with the kitty box. It's just gross and a mess. I wish there was something to improve on this. That doesn't cost hundreds. Ya know
It's the soiled litter, that causes your house to stink. Use nonclumping litter. Just scoop out the poop when you see and flush it down the toilet, and dump the litter into the trash every morning, wash the box out and pour fresh litter in. You'll get used to it.
