- My older cat, Kohaku (10 month old), has FeLV.
I have to keep Kohaku completely separate from the kittens for 8 weeks until the kittens finish their vaccinations.
There is no room available for the cat, so i decided to build a cage again.
4 kittens was coming.
2 liive my house.another 2 will live my friend house.
2kittens have stayed here only 2 night.
it's summer this time, I put japanese style igusa mat(rush mat) on the 2nd floor.
For the3rd floor, I plan to make something that the kittens will enjoy.

When editing, the hardest part is to explain without using words.
ive stayed AUs for 2 years and go aroud world as backpaker half year.
so i can speak english little bit.but not perfect.
if i use my mother language Japanese,no one understand my video only japanese.
so i try to not using word.

This is a true gift. On so many occasions one finds wonderful videos even with some English in them, that are totally unintelligible because of poor choice of words or literally translated from another language. As a translator and someone who knows three foreign languages, I can figure out what people are trying to say most of the time, but not knowing any Asian language (except for just a few Korean words) it is really appreciated.

I really should have taken more videos of the kittens, but I was too sleepy to do so.
I was working on it for the day the kittens were coming, but I couldn't get it done in time, and the day before the last day I was working on it without sleeping for 30 hours, so I was so sleepy I forgot to film it. LOL!
Next time, I'll make it as planned and take lots of video.

子猫を迎える日に間に合わず、今回は３階はなにもできませんでした。
30時間くらいぶっ続けで作りギリギリ間に合いました。
そのおかげで、肝心の子猫が初めて入ったときなど、眠くてすっかり撮影を忘れてしまいました。笑

At first the kittens were frightened and I was worried that I had made their cage too big.
But when I set up the camera, I was relieved to see that they seemed to be having a great time.

From what I heard, it's important to have kittens get used to humans before they get too old. If they learn that human = food = fun time = safe before they are 16 weeks then it's good. If not they will hate humans!

Hama is 5 years old now and we picked her up when she was about 6 months old.
Maybe that's why she's still not very good with people.
These kittens are still afraid of humans.
Every time I feed them, I try to get very close to their faces.
Smell of food = smell of humans = yummy, glad!
I will try my best to train them to be like that.

Kohaku has always played with Mugi, but lately Mugi is too tired to play with Kohaku coz he is 9 years old.
So I think it's great for Kohaku to have a sibling.
No, I haven't seen any kittens from all four of them yet.
I am trying not to let them see them at all, just to be on the safe side, until their vaccines are done.
I am looking forward to the day I get to meet them.

That is such an epic kennel! I know you've read Jackson Galaxy's book which is amazing, but if you want one specifically about kittens, I highly recommend Hannah Shaw's book "Tiny but Mighty". It has been like a bible to me when it comes to fostering kittens and has an entire chapter on how to socialize feral or hissy kittens. Lots of ideas for enrichment, health stuff, and growth stages. It's really fantastic!

I can use a cage like that when I'm cooking or cleaning my house or when they get into their fights over toys . My cats are spoiled rotten But other than that they roam free around the house.

Those are similar to C&C cages we have on Amazon. People use the for Guinea pig cages. So I doubt they'll hold a cat over 10 lbs

It's only been a month, so I can't judge, but so far it's been fine.
I bought the felt for the floor at a home improvement store.
It is thick and sturdy because it is for floors.
I think the cats will tear the regular felt, but I think the floor felt will be fine.
I'll explain why I used the felt in the video I'm uploading today.

Why do you cage cats??
We havw reason why cats are in cage. I put my cats in cage for many reason... and it's safer than go outside. Sometime we put cats in cage due to dig in trash can, damage stuff, sleep in cage overnight n etc...
