Frigg is similar, it's a title or status within the Aesir like "all father" as aldafoor. 🤷♀️ history loses a lot tho especially with Christian manipulations over the years but depending on the story of Freya u perceive whether she was aesir or vanir, changes the story entirely. Interesting theory. I do agree that Gram was the giant wolf, Hróðvitnir, but I think the Giants are the ones that stole Hróðvitnir's soul, not the Demiurge. Why do I think this? We must remember that Mimir called Hróðvitnir "a great nemesis of the Aesir gods." The only way the Aesir could Hróðvitnir at bay was to kidnap and imprison his pups, Skoll and Hati, which tells me that not even Thor, the slayer of Giants, was a match for the arch wolf. So, when the Giants decide to leave Midgard for Jotunheim, they probably asked Hróðvitnir to join them, but the wolf giant was having none of it and wanted to continue to be the bane of the Aesir. But the Giants couldn't let Hróðvitnir go because of his power to travel between realms. They probably feared that should Odin and Aesir capture Hróðvitnir, they could force him to open a path to Jotunhiem. So, they whispered Hróðvitnir's soul from his body; hoping that the wolf would be harmless like the soulless animals we see in Ironwood. But instead, they created Gram, a soulless beast that jeopardized the nine realms, if not all of reality. At least until Tyr trapped him in Helhiem. But one must ask why would Hróðvitnir want to continue to fight the Aesir if it jeopardized the safety of the Giants. The answer is simple: Revenge. I believe that Hróðvitnir was the loyal companion of Ymir, the primordial being of Norse Mythology. Together, using Hróðvitnir's power to open paths to over places, traveled in search of knowledge to help create a better pantheon. But then, Odin came along and killed Ymir; using his body to create Midgard. This could explain why Gram, whom I suspect was still Hróðvitnir at the time, ate a part of Midgard and the 5th season. It wasn't becasue he was very hungry, but to damage what Odin created and piss him off. Also, by being the loyal companion of Ymir, it also helps explain why the mask reacted Hróðvitnir, now Gram. Because the mask once belonged to Ymir, who used the mask to see into the rift and gain knowledge. All in an effort to be better then those that came before, only for Odin to mess things up. I will admit that there is little to no evidence to support this theory, but I was an idea I've had for a while and felt it was worth share. What do you think.
The Giant who took his sole is most likely Angraboda’s Grandmother, who also took Jormungandr’s original snake soul, both animal bodies play a critical piece in Ragnarok and the (apparently inevitable) resurgence of the Giants.

But he’s in hel,he’s dead he most likely under some sorta power from the hel bird herself keeping him alive without his soul just under her will if that makes sense lol
He didn't have a soul, but that does bring up a good point. What's the difference between Garm and the animals in Ironwood? There seems to be something different about soulless beings in Hel. They simply revive after death, but it's more of a reanimation than a rebirth; and it must have something to do with the beings who are assigned to exist there. Giving them a soul changes them into the identity of the soul. That's how Jormungandr was born, because before the soul was placed into the body of snake, he was an actual giant.
@@Kay_The_Coffee_Weirdo how do we know that garm had no soul? Its never actually stated that he didnt have a soul, is it? Could just be the theory is incorrect. Or could be correct. Thats the whole point of a theory. However we cant just say every theory is fact. Maybe he had one maybe he didnt. To tell u the truth. Who cares? He has one now. Right? Love bro
I mean, the game kinda implies says garm has no soul, its how he kept coming back to "life", plus the eyes and being able to fenrir inside of him. but I'm just confused why garm can move, while the animals in ironwood who lost their souls are basically in a coma. Guess its more a question for SSM, but its just another lose end. This was an amazing game, but has way to many lose ends for my liking.
Ooooohkay i get what ur saying now. Adbay again with another Ragnarok discovery. Great job bro! Btw I prove odin is alive in my latest video. Let me kno what u think.
Hes saying nothing. This is not accurate at all. The game never says having white eyes means no soul. Finrear didnt have eyes after atreus took his soul.
In some poems Garm & Fenrir are the same beast (hyperthettically) another name for Fenrir is also called Hróđvitnir (which in the GoW lore is a separate beast & the father of Sköll & Hati) so there was some creative liberties taken here. Now this could be the incredibly roundabout theory of yours where Hróđvitnir became Garm who became Fenrir OR all 3 wolves are separate entities & this is a case of character de-stinction. Hróđvitnir is father of Sköll & Hati (with them kidnapped by Asgard in order to keep him from attacking & the giants later freeing them from imprisonment. He is most likley now dead or missing like the rest of his kin), Garm was given the rest of Fenrir's more evil aspects while keeping the lore of being the Hel-hound. Fenrir is a normal wolf who becomes the wolf of legend & Loki's "son" through his rebirth in Garm's body.
Great theory , I can even had to this so here is some free content , Corry stated that Athena death was one of the most important things that happen because it was the first selfless death of a god and so she entered an higher state of existing , on her death her body dematerialized into particles of green energy and the mask has exactly the same energy colour to it but there is only one other god that had a very similar death and his body also dematerialized in a very similar way but with blue energy and that god was Thor, no other god had this happen to them not even Baldur, perhaps Thor was blue because he is a norths god or something else.
I know the video is based off of the game and the mythology done in the way Santa Monica portrayed it, but Garm was actually another monstrous canine, he wasn't a wolf, but he was to Hela as a sense of guard for Helheim, like a hellhound persay, but your theory on the lore of the game does actually makes sense, because I was thrown off seeing a normal sized Fenrir that was dying, and how Mimir shared the binding of Garm being the same as the Binding of Fenrir
If the demiurge theory was true then would that he be the final boss of the gow series? Like imagine the demiurge having an army and kratos is teaming up with gods from different pantheons including Jesus and the monad
I saw another video about this a few days ago, they came to most of the same conclusions, only thing they had different was the reason for *why* the Demiurge would have done it. I don't remember the full details, but they actually believe that when we saw Athena in GoW 3, it wasn't Athena, but the Demiurge disguised as her. I don't remember much on what they said about recruiting Garm to search for the mask, but I remember them saying it was a failure, leading them to try a different approach with Odin by promising infinite knowledge. I'm not sure how much I agree with the Athena part, as she is in GoW 4 briefly and I don't think she'd stick around Kratos after failing to use him if she was actually the Demiurge in disguise, but I also see parts that make sense. It's definitely interesting.
What I want to know now is, was that actually Athena in the doorway in the last God of War game when kratos went to retrieve the blades of chaos, or was it just her in his head? I mean that game led me to believe like he was hallucinating, but what if he wasn't what if she actually was there?.....
@@HighmageDerin Then Mimir would have seen her to begin with, or heard her at the very least, but he didn't. He only knew Kratos saw Athena once Kratos spoke her name. If only Kratos saw and heard her then it's unlikely she was actually there beyond being in Kratos' mind. Edit: plus as Barry said, they've already confirmed she was only in his mind in that scene, so there is no reason to wonder, it's already been straight up stated.
If it wasn't really Athena in Kratos' home in 2018 and the creators have already confirmed this then I think it at the very least hints that the higher plane story(which I think WILL happen at some point) may not be the answer for the mask and rift. I still and will continue to maintain this is totally a Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkeban setup. We stoll don't know who blew the horn in 2018 and if it was Angrboda why wouldn't she just let that factoid drop at some point? She would have no reason to not tell Loki. I think Loki will at some point arrive at a time turner scenario where he realizes he set everything up, for things to play out the way they did in Ragnarok. He would know all the pertinent timing and events to a T. Also I mean I'd like to hope that in terms of creative story telling that the missing link ISNT "THESE 3 THINGS ALL SHARE THE SAME COLOR SO THATS THE ANSWER" Kind of a lame story element imo.
The part of Fenrir's soul that went into the knife was its Direction, the part of the soul that guides the other 3. The other 3 parts of soul did not go to Alfheim light! They went to Garm's body, guided by the Direction part from Atreus's knife!
interactions between atreus and thor implies odin knows the wolf is chained and wants to keep it that way meaning odin may have put him there to begin with
correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 4 soul part you just said has a different distinction from one another, the only part that got into the knife is the mind part of the soul, in case you were wondering the other 3 is form, direction and luck. Understanding this could help you learn the situation of brok, because he had only 3 parts of his soul. Also I think the parts of the soul should be scattered in the realms if we based on how sindri retrieved parts of the soul. I'm not sure on this one though.
what if the other 3 parts of finrir's soul are in different parts of the nine realms and one of the quests in the next GOW will be to find the 3 remaining pieces and return them back to him? i feel like there will definitely be more of this story to come...
The mask is probably alot older than Athenas spirit would be. There is probably no way she could be the one to create it, then spread it across Norse realms for no reason.
So demiurge took Hróđvitnir's soul and the body became Garm. But Where did Fenrir come from? You don't explain it. demiurge took Hróđvitnir's soul and put it in a random wolf? edit : without answer, i downvote
A version of mythology where all the different pantheons are just different races of beings from different realms and a higher plane of existence being the realm of omniscient good and evil creators? The next God of War is surely going to take things to the next level.
It's a very interesting theory while all we can do is speculate, but (and i might be totally wrong) i think it's very unlikely that the Christian community is gonna allow a game company to put Jesus in a game like god of war, they would probably set every videogame store on fire if that happened XD
one thing i noticed tho, Fen's soul has 4 parts of it, three of them went to Alfheim, while one remained in Atreus's knife.... (SPOLIER ALERT) wouldn't Fenrir suffer the same fate as Brok? because Fenrir's soul isn't complete at least to my understanding, if he dies again, then he is forever gone just like Brok....
for me there are 2 wolves living in the same time and maybe just like the serpent he can go back in time and so he is both in the past and in the future together with the fenrir cub and Skoll and Hati that in the future we will be able to see some dialogue or see the origin of these wolves... of Garm/Fenrir and the Hrodviltnir Wolf that is out there and it still hasn't appeared or been mentioned but the theory that both are the same thing makes sense that Garm is Horodviltnir before he dies and goes to Hell and there is also the thing about the kraken that is missing and not even appears and I think the kraken is that octopus from Durlin... interesting theory and I like your theory make a video about this mysterious wolf and the kraken and how they might appear in the future🤔😮😁✌Like and bye!
I may have to watch this a couple times you lost me during the Middle when you're talking about the three wolves is there some kind of time-travel shenanigans
@@abdbay i just hate the fact that games like GoW need around 5 years each and if we consider the amount of info about the plain of existence we got on Ragnarok... i just hope i'm able to play video games at the age of 80 and more...
I think he got it twisted up with Fenrir, because garm becomes Fenrir after his soul is put into Garm's body, afyer he died at the beginning of the game.
The Fenrir at the beginning of the game is a normal wolf that Atreus adopted and named Fenrir. That random wolf Atreus adopted is the original, first ever Fenrir.
@@michamatyjewiczalkis284 They are but they aren’t. First Hrodvitnir existed as the giant wolf and the father of Skoll and Hati, then Hrodvitnir’s soul was taken away and the wolf became soulless Garm, then Atreus put the soul of his deceased adopted wolf, Fenrir, into Garm and so Garm became Fenrir like how we see in the game. Does that make sense?
One thing that doesn't make sense to me is when Atreus says he can't feel the animal and Angraboda explains to him. There's nothing to feel because he doesn't have a soul. But when he gets to hel and you're actually untying garm he's saying he can feel garm. But if garm doesn't have a soul like the other animal, how can he feel garm but not the other animal with Angroboda?
you make some good theories you should make god of war what if's like what if ares took kratos instead or what if zeus didnt destroy all of kratos godly weapons during the final battle in god of war 3
There's nothing that states or even implies that fenrir dies due to fimbulwinter. He was just sick. If it was caused by fimbulwinter, then by that logic speki and svana (I think those are the names) wouldn't have been well either, meaning kratos and atreus wouldn't have a sled in Midgard. Garm had a soul tho didnt he? Bc angerbora says the animals didnt have a soul they couldn't eat so she had to remind them
But he’s in hel,he’s dead he most likely under some sorta power from the hel bird herself keeping him alive without his soul just under her will if that makes sense lol
That’s Just my guess
He didn't have a soul, but that does bring up a good point.
What's the difference between Garm and the animals in Ironwood?
There seems to be something different about soulless beings in Hel. They simply revive after death, but it's more of a reanimation than a rebirth; and it must have something to do with the beings who are assigned to exist there. Giving them a soul changes them into the identity of the soul.
That's how Jormungandr was born, because before the soul was placed into the body of snake, he was an actual giant.
@@tjgray395 or could just be this theory is not correct. 🤷
Right? Love bro
How come garm was active though. The other souless monster would just stand there, like a lamp or chair or something.
Right. And mimir did say that garm bit tyrs arm off. Right here:
ruclips.net/user/shortsNXtBIgEBTPQ?feature=share
Bc this guy is just making up random bs atp.
Have you heard of the lich? They’re undead too but also active one whenever
i guess it's because garm is only missing part of his soul, while the other soulless beings had no part and therefore dead
Dude, your intro is one of my favorites of all the youtubers.
Glad you like it!
Wow I didn't even notice that shit at the time. Good work catching that subtle ass action.
The writers watching this video: "Haha... Yeah... You figured it out!... Good job... *Nervous laughter*" 🤣
Please work please work please work! Atreus delivered that moment so well.
Homie, the game literally depicts animals with no soul to have white eyes. Like the bull Angroboda feeds in ironwood.
Hey, cookingwithkratos, it's nice to see you here. I'll check out your video when I get the chance :)
They've already confirmed Athena in GoW 2018 is in Kratos' mind - that's not really her
@@gingeranagram2467 true, which is part of why they said it could be the Demiurge. Again, I see arguments on both ends.
I like how he says he's been wanting to make a video about this but waits till kaptain kuba to make his video it's basically the same video 👎
What if that's the mask of Loki and if he had put it on he would've become an unstoppable god with the ability to create weapons out of thin air
A really REALLY good theory but... weren`t the giants the only ones that could remove souls?
ruclips.net/video/R1I0MX3EK2w/видео.html
Also I mean I'd like to hope that in terms of creative story telling that the missing link ISNT "THESE 3 THINGS ALL SHARE THE SAME COLOR SO THATS THE ANSWER"
Kind of a lame story element imo.
so after all the demiorge is who is leading odin into madness and killing ymir and the giants , +intresting theorie bro
pretty much, +thanks, bro
The part of Fenrir's soul that went into the knife was its Direction, the part of the soul that guides the other 3. The other 3 parts of soul did not go to Alfheim light! They went to Garm's body, guided by the Direction part from Atreus's knife!
My brain trying to process that hrothufnir or whatever, garm, and fenrir are all the same dogs:
Only video i’ve seen explaining why the mask reacted to garm
I think the rift is thus Santa Monico studios
interactions between atreus and thor implies odin knows the wolf is chained and wants to keep it that way meaning odin may have put him there to begin with
"VEKNA!!!!" whispered Atreus quietly.
Seen this theory last month. I conch.
Part of Fenrir's soul? His entire soul went into Ateus' knife. Lol
Thanks for keeping Odins scream in lol
Weird how Atreus gives Garm the soul by just stabbing while later he needs to do the incantation with the snake.
How come only one of Fenrir's four soul bits got put into the knife? What were the other three bits? Where did they go?
I'm guessing they'd just return to the lake of souls/light of alfheim?
correct me if I'm wrong but I think the 4 soul part you just said has a different distinction from one another, the only part that got into the knife is the mind part of the soul, in case you were wondering the other 3 is form, direction and luck.
To me it would make more sense if Odin took his souls because he was a nemesis to the asier
A version of mythology where all the different pantheons are just different races of beings from different realms and a higher plane of existence being the realm of omniscient good and evil creators? The next God of War is surely going to take things to the next level.
I don’t know who ripped who off but I swear I just watched a video with the same exact theory and explanation as KaptainKubas theory on Garm
If anything, this isn't the first time I touch up on this.
@@abdbay I believe you it’s just crazy how similar your videos are
It's a very interesting theory while all we can do is speculate, but (and i might be totally wrong) i think it's very unlikely that the Christian community is gonna allow a game company to put Jesus in a game like god of war, they would probably set every videogame store on fire if that happened XD
Thanks for this, it sucks that the game hid her.
Athena was one of the bigger reasons i sought Ragnarok.
one thing i noticed tho, Fen's soul has 4 parts of it, three of them went to Alfheim, while one remained in Atreus's knife....
(SPOLIER ALERT)
wouldn't Fenrir suffer the same fate as Brok? because Fenrir's soul isn't complete at least to my understanding, if he dies again, then he is forever gone just like Brok....
for me there are 2 wolves living in the same time and maybe just like the serpent he can go back in time and so he is both in the past and in the future together with the fenrir cub and Skoll and Hati that in the future we will be able to see some dialogue or see the origin of these wolves...
of Garm/Fenrir and the Hrodviltnir Wolf that is out there and it still hasn't appeared or been mentioned but the theory that both are the same thing makes sense that Garm is Horodviltnir before he dies and goes to Hell and there is also the thing about the kraken that is missing and not even appears and I think the kraken is that octopus from Durlin... interesting theory and I like your theory make a video about this mysterious wolf and the kraken and how they might appear in the future🤔😮😁✌Like and bye!
I may have to watch this a couple times you lost me during the Middle when you're talking about the three wolves is there some kind of time-travel shenanigans

do you believe that someday we will see what this rift is or maybe a God of War game with the plain of existence and Demiurge?
I hope so 🤞
@@abdbay i just hate the fact that games like GoW need around 5 years each and if we consider the amount of info about the plain of existence we got on Ragnarok... i just hope i'm able to play video games at the age of 80 and more...
I think he got it twisted up with Fenrir, because garm becomes Fenrir after his soul is put into Garm's body, afyer he died at the beginning of the game.
just goes to show there is something bigger at play here happening between the pantheons
You better not change this intro ever idc how many years
Yessir 🫡
They really hit us with fenrir dying
Your theory doesn't take into account how Fenrir ended up in the body of a normal wolf
Fenrir był normalnym wilkiem na początku, przed śmiercią
The Fenrir at the beginning of the game is a normal wolf that Atreus adopted and named Fenrir. That random wolf Atreus adopted is the original, first ever Fenrir.
@@abdbay Yes but in your theory you said that Hróðvitnir and Fenrir are the same person
@@michamatyjewiczalkis284 did u even play the game or pay attention? The original fenir died and Loki took it's soul and placed it in garm
But Fenrir is the son of Loki and Angrboda…. So there’s that.
Perhaps it's because he only has one part of his 4 part soul. Or one part of that soul is missing and he replaced it with Fenrier's
@@HighmageDerin that could be, but it's that actually the case?
@@onealr I honestly doubt we'll ever know not unless they make it a point to address it in the next God of War
you make some good theories you should make god of war what if's like what if ares took kratos instead or what if zeus didnt destroy all of kratos godly weapons during the final battle in god of war 3
Have feeling we will use garm to tear a hole into a different pantheon for next gow
You are the Gow Goat 🐐🗿
Thank you ❤️
There's nothing that states or even implies that fenrir dies due to fimbulwinter. He was just sick. If it was caused by fimbulwinter, then by that logic speki and svana (I think those are the names) wouldn't have been well either, meaning kratos and atreus wouldn't have a sled in Midgard.
It's so stupid when content creators treat their own headcanon as fact
I just don’t think you are right and the game tells you garm has no soul foreshadowing what Atreus is about to do when they catch garm
How did Kratos get to Egypt?
Dis makes sense 🤔🤔💯💯🙌🙌
Wouldn't kratos recognize him though?
You forgot to add in the lore of Mask to this.
I’m assuming the mask from the movie Mask is the same mask Odin was after.
The mask was said to be of loki or smth in the 2nd movie
@@Whatsabird guess you could argue it’s Lokis mask since he’s the one who pieced it together and has some connection to it to have been able to find it, put it together and wear it.
He sent it into the rift which is reasonable to think it wound up in our realm where it fell into Jim Carry’s hands 🤷♂️.
Why is Athena in every theory? She has nothing to do with anything outside of greece

Bro very little Dad of War follows Norse mythology. Fenrir, Jourmungndr and a few others were the children of Loki and Angraboda. Both of which have not fucked or had kids in Dad of War. So Fenrir being born after Skal and Hati doesn't matter.

If certain characters and events from IRL my this haven’t been adapted into the GOW version you can just plug in IRL and pretend like it’s GOW fact for the sake of a video
