We have those combos all over California, but this was the best video that explained how they work, transfer, disconnect and re-connect. Thanks for the video!
That's some trailer really cool mate love how they slide together. We call that a wagon and Drag over here. Neet way to get the truck back just fire it over on the Starter.👍🤠
I think he puts it in reverse, then turns the motor off and thr switch he hits on the back of the dump, just kicks the motor over, but didn't start it. Like when you turn the key over, to just kick the crank and cam over to check valves? If I'm explaining that the right way?
@@CONTAINERMAN68 I run one, you put the truck in reverse and you have a kill switch in the cab that shuts off the fuel to the engine so it just bumps the starter which propels the truck backwards into your reach. Pretty fun job. Best part is when kids are around you can act like you are pulling the truck backwards and they get a kick out of it😂
Eric, that's only the ones with this type of trailer. There are other dump trailers that have their own hoist mechanism. I think I've seen 2 trailers + the dump on the tractor, running around in Arizona? The trailers with the hoist mechanism can be seen in front of the dump.
This is a pretty neat set up. Couple things would need to be modified to meet our standards, but his would be great to get to those tight to get construction sites.
Instead of turning opposite of where you want the trailer to go, you just turn the direction you want it to go. But with this type of setup, I don't think you would need to back it up anywhere!
Yep, but you wouldn't need to back the trailer anywhere. That's the point of the transfer dump. It slides into the front dump after it's been emptied, then you empty the trailer box in the same place as the first dump box. Or in a totally different area.
That's slick as sh 👁 t Roy. I wonder how long his starter will last using it to back the truck up? Thank you for the share, it's a very interesting unit.
Greetings from Finland !! Example of 2 Finnish dump truck, Scania 770 hp V8 ! ruclips.net/video/MXv-4NPJYns/видео.html And Volvo FH16 750 hp ! ruclips.net/video/E28o3rYfK54/видео.html .total weight of around 72 tons (158400 pounds) quite a differens. Hope y enjoy , have a nice day !!
I was waiting to load there at Westlake, and he had already dumped one load, so I caught him on the second load and asked how that worked and made sure that I could record him. He had no problems being recorded and explained everything. This video has so many views on it, I can't believe it! 13,700 views! Yes it's almost 3 year old, but still, it gets more views in a week than some of my current video posts!

He's so strong he was able to pull it with one hand
That was neat to see, thanks to you and that other guy for sharing!
That was very, very interesting Roy. Thanks!
THANK YOU!! I always wondered hot that worked. What an incredible piece of engineering!
You bet!

That was interesting! Thanks!
COOL. THANKS ROY
Wow. I never seen that before. Cool video
Too cool. Never saw that before.
How cool, never knew that some dump trucks can do this.
AWESOME VID...
That was interesting. Never seen those around here. Mind blown on the reversing button! - Jason

@@CONTAINERMAN68 good thing is if you forget to turn the key off it will be the last time you do that.
wow thats pretty cool
Wish when im pulling doubles I had a feature to back it up like that for me. Save me the workout and marathon
Lol
pretty nifty invention some one come up with. 👍👍👍😎
I see them running around and never had any idea that the dump moves on the back

Very cool
That was cool
Ones I used to load were hydraulically moved. Which made a damn mess on the driver's side of the box.
This is a pretty neat set up. Couple things would need to be modified to meet our standards, but his would be great to get to those tight to get construction sites.
It saves on buying only 1 hydraulic lift and wet kit!
Double pivot point, I would have zero chance in reversing

The starter will last a long time. The guys that are good only have to back less than 1 foot.
4:24 is just so clever
How many tons does it carry?
17,000 pounds per axle. Steer axle 12,000 pounds. Just like an 18 wheeler, 80,000 pounds
Typically between 24 and 25 tons.
ok

Too complicated for me. lol
Tom, I believe you can do everything with just 1 finger! Or 1 hand and 1 foot!
europees systeem is veel makkelijker
Blaine Stumpf trucking. Placerville Ca, Blaine is one of the nicest guys in the business.
