Congratulations Jimny's are awesome! I received my Manual GLX 2 weeks ago and I love it! I chose the manual cos I found it more fun to drive and it was more economical from what I read.
I like your green 'Mamba'. With modern gearbox/transmission technology, there's no wrong choice. For a game ranger's Landy in Kenya, go manual. For urban/offroad mix, auto is great. I had a '97 manual Pajero 2.8TDi for >10 yrs and loved it. Then we got a '17 Everest 4x4 auto and love it in traffic and offroad. Don't miss manual at all. Enjoy the new experience & project.
Finally Jimny 5 door has been launched in India and I have also booked the Magnite Grey Automatic. In India we are getting 4 speed auto transmission and this engine has been already tested for years and seems to be errorless, manual one seems to be bit hard. Great choice..
Congrats. What a feeling. I love the Jimny. Had the previous version and now the new one for about a year. Love the car. I drive an Isuzu double cab as well but the Suzuki is just always more fun for some reason. Definitely made the correct decision going for the GLX spec. Massive difference with the headlights as well.
I own a grey glx manual, I love it! And even though you got the auto, I am sure you will love it too. First thing with no delay though is put some proper tires. Congrats on the best mini car ever ❤️ excited to see what you will do with it
Have fun with you blank canvas Jana! I got mine in February this year just to have a bit of fun with it and well, lets just say, that 9 months later it has had a ridiculously large amount of extras added 😁
It’s an 18 month wait for a new Jimny in Australia I’ve heard. The grey colour was really cool but I think the auto is definitely a better option for city driving (and off-road)
Lots of mods to do, the auto does have its set backs but it is still a true 4wd to be enjoyed. Congratulations enjoy your Jimny, I too purchased the jungle green but took the manual variant as it’s far superior imo.
Imo, anything then white off-road is a pain. I have a 2021 hilux in grey and it's SO easy to scratch it when going off the pavement. Do you have the same load ratings that we have in Europe for the jimny? That's the biggest drawback, payload is just ~270kg. I think that driving a manual is harder off-road but I can see why people prefer it. It's more challenging, simpler and often possible to jump start. Auto gives more control though. I've been a manual fan for at least 15 years and only bought manuals when I purchased new vehicles. The hilux was only available in auto when you opted for the 2.8 diesel so I had no choice. After 50 000km I'm starting to get used to it😀
Hey Jana! This was an awesome video and I fully support your pick (being a Jimny owner hehe)! It's an amazingly cute and boxy little car that is also extremely capable off road. It's definitely not a highway car and even after almost 3 years I still get frustrated at times 🙃 but as soon as it gets of the tarmac if feels right at home As to your question about AT vs MT, each one has it's advantages . There is a really good video you can watch by Ronny Dahl about transmissions. Hope that helps!
now i have a 2000 Jimny manual that im working on, tranfer case or diff 'exploded' and my 5 speed is missing 5th gear lol and my other half has an automatic 2009(we are starting a fleet of them) and the first thing i notice is that thing is huge for a Jimny lol tbh i am a die hard manual fan boy but i would have probably chosen the auto if im looking further down the line for resale, the autos are super rare, they have always been and they command a better price usually than the same trim spec manual the Jimny's natural habitat is not the highway lol they will usually struggle(you usually hear about that in all the reviews) on the highway but adding a spot of weight in the boot usually helps with stability at speed
Congratulations! I bought a new Jimny a couple of weeks ago, manual GLX. Did you find the manual noisey and very tight in shifting. It's getting slowly looser but I've never felt a gearbox so tight, reverse sometimes leaves me stuck in the middle of the road as it just refuses to go in.
Thank you! The tight gearbox was exactly my experience when I was test-driving the manual - I stalled it about 3 times before getting into the groove. But most people I've spoken to have no issue with the gearbox so hopefully, it does get looser over time.
Jana hello. I want to buy Jimny 5 door /2023. Your experience , is it safe to drive Jimny on highway with speed 130 kmp/h ? .. I know no good voice isolation and vehichle is for off/road . I want know about your experience on Highway . Regards
Hi there, I am excited to see the 5-door Jimny in person. To be honest, the Jimny handles the highway much better than I thought it would. I can easily drive 110-120kmp/h and still feel comfortable. But I would not recommend going over 120kmp/h as it does begin to feel a bit shaky, especially with high winds.
kaloriziko! what Jimny specific products will alu-cab be developing? my jgreen auto is customised for longrange overland, so long range tank, diff locked, winch, lift, takla, escape gear->but the main thing is i keep it light
We are starting the conversation about Jimny accessories this week, so stay tuned! After heading out with the Jimny this weekend, I definitely think a long range tank is the way to go for long overland trips! And yes, keeping it light is key.
@@alu_cab the long ranger replacement tank 80litres. there is another option with the brown davis aux tank, both can be fitted too. 80litre gives an average range of about 1100km.
Difficult choice, due to prior experiences I would lean more towards a manual, but a auto is nice for city traffic. (Prior experience) But Turbo diesel and automatic is not a great combination, probably different for a naturally aspirated petrol, like the Jimny. With the diesels the autobox (especially on the Pajero my Dad drives) is very unresponsive and is never in the right gear when you want it to be (so I use the paddle shifters, but there still is a delay). The one car I have driven that has a fantastic automatic gearbox was a V8 Land Rover Discovery 4, super smooth and a pleasure to drive.....when you get the chance. That does not have a turbo so my theory is that Turbo lag and a automatic gearbox have a compounding effect, making it feel unresponsive or exaggerates it. I am probably one of the few people that prefer the look of the Gen. 3 Jimny over the Gen.4 . The later Gen. 3's also came with a bonnet scoop to make it easier to install a top mount intercooler for a turbo.😈 I have discussed this before, but the Jimny probably holds the record for Solid axle 4x4 that has gotten many women interested in off roading and a lot of Jimny owners are women, so that's cool.
Hallo Newton! Baie dankie! Geluk met jou Jimny ook. Ek kry op die oomblik 13.3km/l. Maar beplan ook om binnekort hopelik dieselfde bande as jy op te sit, so sal dan kyk en laat weet!
Hi!! I am from India. Good news is I have booked myself a 5 door Automatic Jimny in white colour. Since I don't have any experience. Would you like to share me the average mileage Of your Car.?
Wow. I am livings n Colombia and do All this big Toyotas 4x4. Just 2 days ago did see a Suzuki jimmy at the gas station. I just ask the owner about the where I can get more information information this car. Less can be more. And for sure you pay les for what you get. It is a baby. And not a monster. Looking forward to see how you will spoil you new baby. Any time you need some formation about Colombia then let me know. Ok ? Have fun. It is like to be the n the honeymoon with your 4x4 baby…..

I love it! I had one years ago and it was so much fun. Enjoy! Excited to see it come together.
Congratulations Jana, I have secret crush on Jimnys as well.
Excellent! My grey Jimny is automatic but manual is better for adventure and pleasure to drive.
Super Happy for you!! Enjoy the ride!
Brilliant option Jana. Pretty excited to see what you guys are going to do with this one.
Thank you!
You are so lucky that you have the house and the money to buy these little cuties you are blessed and good luck with Jimny
We bought our auto Jungle Green Jimmy a year ago. We've had some great adventures including Fraser Island. You'll love it.
Awesome! 😄
Excited for this series!
Happy days congrats with your new vehicle

She looks so happy ❤
I hope i get one soon 😢

congratulations Jana, so exciting! Also have a crush on these little beauts, looking forward to your content 😊
Thanks, Diane!
Grey suits you better ! Have a great time 😀
I love manual 5-speed, but I just got my auto/ gray 2023, is comfy driving in a city's traffic jam
Very cool!
It’s an 18 month wait for a new Jimny in Australia I’ve heard. The grey colour was really cool but I think the auto is definitely a better option for city driving (and off-road)
It's alot shorter now, I got mine in 4 months (received last month) I'm in Sydney
Lots of mods to do, the auto does have its set backs but it is still a true 4wd to be enjoyed.
Congratulations enjoy your Jimny, I too purchased the jungle green but took the manual variant as it’s far superior imo.
If you succeed in the pop rooftop conversion of the jimny ( not a roof tent!) well You have my dream car. 😍

I prefer the automatic but got tied of waiting so i went with the manual green jimny, the gray looks like a silver color to me.
now i have a 2000 Jimny manual that im working on, tranfer case or diff 'exploded' and my 5 speed is missing 5th gear lol and my other half has an automatic 2009(we are starting a fleet of them) and the first thing i notice is that thing is huge for a Jimny lol

The jungle green matches your wedding ring, good choice gal 😉
Also, Jiminy Cricket as a car name suggestion? 😅

Dankie Johannes! 😄
If your an active driver, chose the manual.
If your less of an active driver, chose the automatic.
Yesterday 5 door version of Jimny is launched in India.
I saw! Exciting stuff. Very interested to see what people think once they start putting them to the test.
Which country is this? Look like Right Hand drive
It's South Africa - so yes, right hand drive :)
I love Jimny MT 3 Door
Jy gaan baie ouens se gat skop met dai oukie, veilige travels 🤠
Any car with a small underpowered motor is better off manual. You need to play around with the gears more.
