CONGRATS DUDE! Man, you can't even buy the JAMMA board by itself for $800. There are NON-WORKING boards selling for $600+ on ebay. And working boards sell for over 1k. AND it was right down the road, CRAZY! Definitely dig into the game more man. KI1 is still my personal favorite game, so KI2 never lived up to it, but it's really fun the more you dig into it.
I did tutorials for all the characters if you ever need a quick overview of anyone. Doing those videos though, forced me to FINALLY get good at KI2 Spinal, which ended up being my favorite video of the bunch. He was always my least favorite to play but after really playing as him and finding some fun tech, it really made me appreciate his gameplay.
Definitely give it a fresh start. For me, hearing people not really enjoy KI2 is similar to when I hear someone say they're not really into MK4. I'm just like, granted I still like the originals better... but the combos are so fun to do! Congrats and good luck on the monitor!
Thanks! I thought about your tutorials when I got it. I’m going to give it a real try. Having the real thing will make me more likely to want to invest the time in it. I may put the KI2 PCB in the KI1 cab with a switcher, especially if it’s going to take a while to fix that monitor.

Tube simply needs a rejuvenation. If the game was laid on its back chances are the vibration created a short in the neck as particles fell down to the back of the tube during transport. A rejuv will remove the short.

Thats interesting. My KI1 appeared to have the original controls and felt different. Maybe they made them slightly different around the release of KI2 lol.
@@KillerArcadeGames Yes Controls and Buttons are original, also that Red sticker in front of Marquee. That Cabinet is not the Deluxe Arcade which means your Cabinet came originally with One Small Speaker and in MONO sound output, Unlike my Cabinet I upgraded to Dual Speakers and I tell you the sound quality is AMAZINGLY BOOMING...

@@KillerArcadeGames I say let go of Tusk and go back to him later. Jago in KI2 has everything the game wants you to see and impress you with. Learn everything Jago and you will be smitten 4life. Then you will really appreciate Tusk. Gamefans KI2 guide is the best. Get the cbz at retromags or get the physical. Excited for ya. Soak it up.
@@norrin_radd I used to be good with Jago and enjoyed him. I need to get back to it. I do have that game fans book! It’s one of the few I still have somehow.
@@KillerArcadeGames I love that Book. I've got one more Secret 4 ya. You can break the game on Gargos. I've only done it with Jago like 3 or 4 times back in the arcade days. You charge up all your end specials, finish him with as many super linkers as you can but instead of an Ultra, end it with the sword kill Ultimate combo. The Machine will freeze on the first hit and reset. It's as satisfying as that game gets. I used to do it and walk off like a chad into the sunset. Ultra Satisfaction. I don't think it kills high scores but only one way to know for sure.

I have always wanted to know why they made KI2 so much different than the masterpiece KI1 😢
I grew to love it a little more. My plan to use this as a MAME cabinet were canceled. I couldn’t butcher a working machine, it’s now sitting next to my KI in my arcade.

dumb question but I do you lift the control panel up? I just got one of these btw
There are latches inside against the sides where it says “Nintendo” on the control box. You have to reach in and up from the coin door. You’ll feel them on the left and right side. Just lift them up and it should unlock.

Thanks! I know I have footage of me showing how to open the control panel but I can't remember which video it's in. (Spoiler, this didn't end up being a MAME cabinet, I fixed it up and its in my arcade. I just finished making another cabinet my MAME cabinet though!)
@@KillerArcadeGames Glad you kept it original these cabs are becoming hard to come by, my monitor looks pants in mine and running KI2 on my Astro looks so much better. I'm hoping i can get it looking good though as its more authentic playing it on the midway cab.

Someone found this for me but any other deals I’ve found have been from constantly searching. I check Facebook Marketplace at least 20 times a day. If you look long enough you’ll find a deal.
