This is incredible Joel. If I was to have one arcade cabinet to get I would probably go with the 6 player X-Men one. That way lots of people can join in on the fun.
I feel you man. If i could have only one cabinet, it would be Killer Instinct. Just like you i played my share of Mortal Kombat (MK2 holds a special place in my heart, i bought the 1up), but Killer Instinct will always be my top one, if i had the chance. The combos were so fun to execute, just getting that extra hit before the Ultra, using these juggles to pull-out 80 hits, i also connected with this very much. The graphics were revolutionary at the time, way different from real human scans from MK (which were also awesome). 3D was just starting, and this game was shining. Jago and GlaciusThe loud voice of the announcer in attract mode, calling the game for the Ultra 64 in 1995, it was dominating the room. It was louder that anything else. Great memories.
Excellent pickup! Midway cabinets are incredible! I recently picked up a MK 2 Ultimate that was a little under an hour from my home. The side art on these cabs are AMAZING! Hope to add a KI/KI2 board to my collection. Due to its size, the arcade cabinet that I really wish I had is a Sega New Versus City cab. Head to head on practically a Blast City on both sides would be my grail! Thank you for sharing

I think it was probably 97 or 98 when I went. Game had been out for some time by then so I had it all to myself. Unrelated but they finally came out with KI 1 on Xbox live a while back. The competition is really good. Maybe Mr. Sucker Punch is on there.

Dude!!! That is really friggin' sweet! Killer instinct was one of my favorites and the soundtrack is amazing. I'm a big fan of a lot of the Rare composers. If there was one arcade cab in my house, it would probably be some version of Gauntlet old or new.

I'm glad you remember all the beat downs I gave you, I also remember all the time you spent learning SF2 and how determined you were to get good and you eventually did, good times. I feel like I had a paranoid freak out on you once after a long session of SF2 but I could be wrong. The story I told of getting kicked out of the hotel in Vegas happened about 1 hour before Jill's mom was getting married. I had to sneak back in and if I remember right I showed up late to the wedding. lol good times.
The guy who punched you was an older brother who was used to getting away with it. I did that to my little brother once or twice before having the wherewithall to realize it was wrong and stopped doing it. Then I just got better and my little brother cant touch me in a fighting game anymore.
Actually it was in las vegas before a wedding and there was a guy who was running the machine till I got there and I beat him and he got mad and he kept getting madder and madder every time I won till finally he decided to hit me in real life. Then he lost that fight as well. The bad thing was I got kicked out of the hotel and that is were the wedding was and my girl friend was pissed. Good times.

Learn to use filters I can make my lcd look like a crt with rounded edges and also you have scanline generators if you are that lazy no excuses.
