Skyrim Battles - Survival - Miraak & The Ebony Warrior vs. Dragons

- Опубликовано: 23 авг 2024
- My second episode of the Skyrim Survival Battles format! This time, we have two protagonists fighting together: Miraak and the Ebony Warrior. They have to defend themselves against waves of dragons which are getting increasingly more difficult.
For the protagonist(s) of this format, I need NPCs which are very tanky and/or can heal themselves rapidly. Otherwise, even waves of rather weak opponents will quickly take them down. The protagonsits should also deal some nasty damage, ideally with both melee and ranged attacks. This is especially important here since the waves consist of dragons, which fly around a lot so melee-only NPCs like Karstaag are at a disadvantage.
The Ebony Warrior is perfect for all of that, and Miraak is very good too. They make for a great team since the Ebony Warrior is an overall powerhouse, and Miraak can use both fire and frost breath as well as chain lightning, which suits him well against all types of dragons.
In wave 1 and 2, two dragons spawn at once because they're weak and die quickly. The specifics are:
Wave 1: Dragon & Blood Dragon (both fire)
Wave 2: Frost Dragon & Elder Dragon (fire)
Wave 3: Ancient Dragon (frost)
Wave 4: Revered Dragon (always fire)
Wave 5: Serpentine Dragon (fire)
Wave 6: Legendary Dragon (frost)
Wave 7: Alduin
Sometimes, dragons fly away after taking enough damage and are forced to land. The Ancient Dragon in this video crashed into the ground outside of the arena, essentially removing him from the battle. This is why Miraak and the Ebony Warrior only killed 8 dragons together, even though 9 have spawned.
Trivia: At 6:28, the Ebony Warrior was only 7 HP away from going into bleedout mode.

This series has given me a newfound appreciation for the Ebony Warrior. He truly is the hero of another story.
Awesome! He's great to watch in fights 😎
That was not a blooper, that was a fair combat!
And that was a fair point! 😆
This is epic. It's basically the video I always wanted, but never knew I wanted. You never fail to impress.
Awesome to hear! 🥳 Thank you very much!! 😁
9:05 the Drain Vitality from Legendary Dragons is no Joke, it may not do as much damage as their Elemental Breath, but it destroys your Stamina and Magicka on the long run (and it CANNOT be resisted and absorbed)
It can be blocked by a ward tho, so I think that means miraak has the ability to defend against it.
@@howboutdemap1es225 Yes, the stamina and magicka drain is the crucial part! I've seen mages getting disabled completely because they couldn't regenerate magicka anymore. And yes, it can be blocked by a ward 😄
@lSlendermaster if you have resto loop boosted enchanted gear on, you can get over drain vitality by using equilibrium on one hand (refills magicka)
It's official now, the Ebony Warrior is the real dragonborn! He beat Alduin with only half his health and no help!😂 Miraak didn't shout as much as him either
The Ebony Warrior is scary, even for dragons! 😂
Awesome Video! Wow, even all those dragons couldn't stop the mighty Ebony Warrior.
Thank you! Yup, he really proves his power here 😄
The thing I love about the Ebony Warrior is his fighting style...its actually impressive😎
He's among the most versatile NPCs, always cool to watch! 😎
This was amazing !!! Shame miraak got wiped out so easily I guess we know who the true Dragonborn is huh
Thanks!! 🥳 Miraak is great, but nothing compared to the Ebony Warrior!
If only he had himself a healing spell. Ebony Warrior would go down pretty quickly too if he didn't.
@@spacemanspiff6332 miraak doesn’t heal him nearly as much as he should
Yup, Miraak would be better if he healed himself earlier
@@lSlendermaster He should also have and use that dragon absorbing spell.
Yeah, Ebonī Uoriā and Mirāku are a real unit together (though the former makes up like 90% of their strength). The track by Sukotto Bakkurī was boss, too. 😎
It's one of the best teams I've seen so far! And good to hear! 😎
😮😮😮 This was mad sick yo!!! Miraak and Ebony Warrior are really dragon killers. While I knew miraak would have died first due to his A.I and equipment, man ebony warrior fought like a BEAST! This video proves that Todd Howard could make proper A.I characters but just chose not cause....todd howard..Anyways, thanks for this video! Awesome work bro!
Miraak is alright for the most part. The main issue is him using low-level spells even if he has better ones, but that's a common issue with mages. And yes, the Ebony Warrior showing what he's capable of! Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it! 😁
Yeah, because Todd Howard is the the only person on the development team.
@@jiraffe9600 I can clearly see you do not know what "scarcasm" is. Most people know that you cant make and update a AAA game "by themselves"....
@@antiochrecords9283 This sarcasm is trash though.
Dude i was on the edge of my seat for this one. Do another!
Awesome! 😁 I'll probably do more survival episodes in the future, although not soon. I do have lots of new videos scheduled though, including 2 specials 😎
Ebony Warrior is awesome, no wonder this fela goes to Sovngarde.
Agreed!
I love this new format! It enables an entire new field of content.
Hey Pat! Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it! 😎
One of the best videos on RUclips keep it up.
Thank you very much! 🥳
Good video! I expect to see the evaluation of the combat capability of General Falx Carius😋
Thanks! 😄 I have already done a video about him. I don't use him a lot because he's hard to balance since he has no level cap, although I do like fights with him 🤔
Mirrak and ebony warrior the perfect team
Indeed!
amazing concept ! !
odaviing parturnaax and durhnevir to next pls
Thanks! 😄I probably won't include them because Paarthurnax is weak and Durnehviir is scripted (and also very weak). I can't include every dragon here, so I only chose generic ones plus Alduin. There also won't be a similar survival battle like this again anytime soon, because I want some variety 😄
Si el Dhovakiin hubiese muerto en Helgen, el guerrero de Ébano es quien se habría opuesto a los dragones...
He's definitely capable of it! Although he would technically require Dragonrend 🤔
As always a nice and awesome video ^-^🎉
Thanks a lot! 🥳
Great battle!
I LOVE the addition of the countdown timer and details of whats coming next round.
The dragons killed detail at the end is FANTASTIC too. But does it take into account assistance or just final blow?
All round excellent video!
Only one flaw, its unfortunate the ancient dragon flew off with over half health. Is there any way to really prevent that happening?
Thanks a lot! 😁 I'm glad the timer and round info are useful!
I only counted the actual for that. It's entirely made in my video editor, so I manually went through the recording and checked who got the kills. Luckily, there were no doubts about any of them!
Thank you! 🥳
Yeah, that's a pity. He had less than 1/3 health when he went down, but I don't know how to prevent that. I'm sure there is a way, but I haven't found the exact entry yet that triggers it 🤷
Another battle survival! Hehehe, Miraak couldn't hold out until the last wave, and he defeated a dragon that's like sharotaar, funny coincidence, isn't it? 👀
And Ew was lucky not to suffer the shot where his health stamina and mana didn't drain on his last fight.
In any case, it was epic ^^
Maybe that was actually Sahrotaar in disguise? 😆
Yup, even though the damage is low, the shout is very effective!
Thanks!! 😁
@@lSlendermaster
Surely, in fact he changed his name so as not to be spotted by his master XD
And your welcome. ^-^
By the way, how does battle survival work?
And do you need two powerful npc's or can we put four npc's vs enemy waves?
@@judinatheargonianthief1385 It all makes sense now! 😂
It's complicated. Basically, I made an AutoHotkey script which sends inputs in the game, which then trigger console commands to spawn the dragons. It's difficult to use and even more difficult to set up, so I rarely do it. I haven't seen anyone else do something like that, so I had to come up with my own solution 😂
Four NPCs are possible, but not with good camera work. I couldn't capture everything that's going on, let alone that the performance would go down as well, so I probably won't do that anytime soon 😅
@@lSlendermaster Hmmhmmm, so you put it in auto mode? I thought you timed and you spawn stack at this time.
Ok, well just two or three npc it will be fine ^^'
XD Well then I may have my little idea for a survival, but I have to find interesting warriors or npc.
@@judinatheargonianthief1385 I wouldn't be able to spawn them manually without stopping the camera, and I want a fluent recording without any interruptions 😄
I'm afraid only very few NPCs would work. Unless they're top-tier, they would die in no time. Large numbers of weak opponents are surprisingly strong 😆
Can you ever do a tournament of strongest enemy faction leaders? Like falmer is represented by a warmonger, bandits by a chief, forsworn by a briarheart.
Hmm, interesting idea. 🤔 There are two main limits for my tournaments: I need exactly 8 participants (more would break the bracket system), and they should be somewhat balanced. Warmonger, Bandit Chief, and Briarheart are good! Which else should we put in? Definitely a couple mages too, maybe Savos. Any other ideas?
@@lSlendermaster Highest class dremora, death overlord, nightmaster, centurion master and arch elemental mage.
@@VS-is1gc Nice mix! I think that has potential. 🤔 The only issue I see here is that I've already done several of those setups, and I try to avoid repeating the same fights. There would be at least one, but probably several of them here. 🤔
4:09 hm how fitting
True! 😂
Well the ancient dragon dipped I guess
"Death is highly overrated" 😂
Question. I read that the courage spell increases stats of the one it was used on. How stronger does it make them?
It should be 25 points additional stamina and health, so not a whole lot 🤔
@@lSlendermaster might be enough for a Nazeem to defeat 3 skeevers instead of 2
@@Browncurse Maybe! 😂 Funny thing, I've actually done that in a joke video
@@lSlendermaster that is what I was referencing
@@Browncurse Nice! It's been a while so I didn't think people would remember that 😂
just imagine if there was a troll sitting, watching one of the battles on like a hill or something XD Idk if thats possible tho would probably aggro.
The animation isn't possible in vanilla, but if it were, I could do that 😂
Too bad miraak doesn’t heal himself until it’s too late. I knew if the ebony warrior could get past the legendary dragon it was a wrap.
Yeah, that's how all NPCs work, sadly. And even though the legendary dragon is better, Alduin does a ton of damage too! 😎
1. The Ebony Warrior is a beast as is standard.
2. I feel like Miraak doesn't get the appreciation he deserves in terms of how strong he is. His repertoir of spells is pathetic for a Dragon Priest, and his health is low for an NPC that can go up to LvL 150, but in every other respect he's probably the most versatile boss in the game.
We just don't get to see it because by the time most players get to him they're alredy OP all on their own.
Also, its kind of hillarious how unlucky he got in this fight. He basically git hit by multiple Drain Vitality shouts and his AI couldn't keep up lol
1. Totally agreed!
2. Miraak is definitely a very well-balanced boss, and I agree with the lack of good spells being a problem. You're also right about him seeming weaker as he is because we get to see him late in the game. I wish more NPCs were to scale like him. Lots of bosses are pretty pathetic.
I don't think his AI was bad here, but yes, the shout definitely messed with him! 😂 I also liked the moment when he and the Ebony Warrior both got hit 😆
@@lSlendermasterironically, him being well-balanced is part of the problem, in my opinion. Bethesda clearly took into consideration that some players would finish Dragonborn as soon as possible so they could have Dragon Aspect and other goodies from the expansion unlocked for the rest of the game, so they probably balanced him around going up against a relatively early game player.
Its considerate and well-intentioned game design, ehich is good, but like, can we have just *one* final boss in this game that can legitimately kick our arse? 😂
What makes it even more confusing is that The Ebony Warrior is proof that they knew at this point how to make NPC enemies legitimately strong, mainly by giving them the same perk trees as the player and actual powerfull gear to supplement them.
@@filipvadas7602 I'm pretty sure they did this for blancing in favor of casual players. If we had to face someone like the Ebony Warrior or Karstaag to finish an important questline, it would be very frustrating for many players.
Of course, there are enough ways to deal with them (it's Skyrim, after all), but I think they wanted to keep the difficulty low enough. I've seen the same thing in other games, and I've actually seen random players struggle against Miraak in their first playthrough who were doing well otherwise. I do wish that Harkon were stronger though. 😂
@@lSlendermaster
I love how the universal opinion is that Harkon is the worst/most underwhelming boss lol
@@filipvadas7602 He really is! 😂
Spoiler: the dragons won the battle
Oh nooo, spoiled everything 🫨😂
Wow you nailed it
Thanks! 🥳
How did you properly spawn Miraak? I was able to spawn EW, but all the commands I tried for Miraak didn't really work out. The command I used for EW did work though.
You mean Miraak couldn't be spawned at all? 🤔 For anything not included in the main game, the first two characters vary depending on your load order. That goes for both mods and DLCs.
There are 6 different Miraaks in the game with different properties. The "correct" Miraak (the battle version that you fight at the summint of Apocrypha) has the ID 401FB98 for me. The 4 at the beginning can be different for you. To be sure, you can use the command "help miraak", and check the leading characters for all the results that pop up.
If the issue lies somewhere else or you have more questions, let me know! 😄
@@lSlendermaster I just ran through some IDs I found for Miraak, but those Miraak variations died very quickly. For me, the first two numbers should be “04” as well since I have SE, if mods don't affect the value in any way. Though, for some reason I couldn't spawn the RefID variations of EW nor Miraak, only the BaseID variations worked for me.
@@sebastian42O I assume you were at a low level? Miraak scales with you, using a 1.1 multiplier. I always use him at his level cap, for which you need to be at least level 137. You can change it by using the command "player.setlevel 137", or whichever level you want.
Ref IDs are never used with the "player.placeatme" command. It's a bit difficult to explain, but to summarize it: Ref IDs are used to work with existing individuals, while the Base ID is used here to create a copy of an NPC. While that might seem the same, things can get very different. Especially quest NPCs often have scripts attached to their original version, but not to any copies that you spawn.
If you want to use the unique original, you can tag the Ref ID by using, for example, "prid 401FB99" for the battle Miraak, then moving him to your location by using "moveto player".
This usually only works if the NPC has already spawned in your playthrough, which might not have happened if you're not far enough in the quest, and/or you haven't visited the location yet.
Using Ref IDs is generally more difficult than spawning copies, although it's necessary sometimes. Which one is preferable highly depends on the particular NPC and takes a good amount of experience.
Okay, that's a lot of text. I hope you'll find some of it useful 😂
A couple thoughts:
Did the legendary dragon get staggered by Alduin's meteor at 6:31? If that had not happened, he could have chomped up the Ebony Warrior.
This one is more of a suggestion, but I think Alduin should have been in the second to last wave, and the legendary dragon should have been last, because Alduin is unfit to be the last line of defense against powerful NPCs like EW. Just a suggestion. Otherwise, fantastic as always.
The legendary dragon got staggered from Alduin landing next to him, which is a very common thing, even for NPCs that are allied with the dragon. 😄 The meteors have no effects on him.
About the order: There are two main reasons why I put Alduin last. First, he's the highest-ranking dragon lorewise, so I wanted him to be the final one. Second, Alduin needed to die last, because I wanted to capture the animation properly, without any fights going on. If he had died too early, this wouldn't have been possible, and he would have blocked the other dragon(s) from the camera view, making a good recording almost impossible. I've had this exact issue many, many times in an earlier video, so I wanted to prevent it here. 😄
Another small thing is that I wanted Alduin to be a bit of a surprise. The generic dragons are predictable, but Alduin might have been less obvious.
I get what you mean though. Alduin is usually not as good as a legendary dragon, so you do have a point 😄 And thank you!
Ebony Warrior is actually HIM
He can probably turn water into mead! 👀

I have à question is miraak at is max level ? Such à shame that he go down so easy
Yes, he is! You can see the level at the left of the healthbar. 😄 Miraak is very tanky, but the dragons are no joke. Especially anything up from ancient dragons!

Midway through, I thought the Ebony Warrior was certainly going down 😂
@@lSlendermaster he got stunned a lot, he was lucky to break through the staggering. But its a shame, that Miraak is that weak. I mean he is lvl 150 and the Ebony Warrior is just lvl 80.
@@ElGrandeFalco Yup, that's the real power of Alduin's meteors. 😂 Miraak is very strong, but the Ebony Warrior is just overpowered. As for the levels, they often don't mean much in Skyrim. Lurker Vindicators are a good example, being only level 54 but stronger than almost any non-dragon enemy in the game
