LOVE how you take the time to demonstrate everything in different stance scenarios. This is the one thing I think other channels miss and leaves people confused as to how they can implement the techniques in their own game. Great video bro
of course it´s easy for us to judge behind a desk and a keyboard. I thing that when they sparr Jeff in the gym a lot of good and talented guy look like a heavybag
Yeah because all these cheeto covered critics are experts 😂 you mimic his movements really well it's difficult to get timing down in actual sparring because it isnt your own natural movement but it's a great video!
1:41 Conor used the exact same tactic against floyd and again against khabib in the 3rd round of their fight. so unpredictable and it would be 'lights out' if it lands with the left. In his ufc debut he finished marcus brimage with a similar one to this.
Mate ive been studying the fighting irish and conor since his first fight. You have explained everything perfectly. As a man of irish decent im proud that this style is seeing more attention. Its efficient and the strikes really pack a wallop. Slainte 🍀
I really love your channel for breaking down tactics and showing both the successes of the approach and the failures of it. Real life combat is messy and chaotic, and I like seeing that represented in your sparring.
Man this is the third video i watched and i can tell you. You´re really good reading fighters moves & the idea of creating this channel was a huge smart move. The thing i like the most it´s that you focus on the best ones. Can wait to see next vid !! THUMBS UP.
This is my first 'signature tactics' video.. these combinations and techniques seem really versatile, I feel like I'd have to use each one of these combos quite a few times during sparring to really understand how it works and when it would be useful. And you have so many of these! New subscriber, definitely interested in this type of content. also, with the single kick tactics, when would they be useful? For example, the shuffle leg side kick, spinning back kick, or spinning heel kick are all quite easy to see coming when not set up, and I don't have much success landing them. How would you make sure to land them, and when you do, how would you follow them up?
Thanks for watching! I personally use the shuffle leg side kick as my opponent is about to move forward or off a jab. The lead side kick is obv much longer than your jab and if you are explosive enough you can catch your opponent. The spinning back kick is similar, I like throwing it when I can sense my opponent moving forward. And for the spinning heel kick, I personally do not practice it and quite honestly never landed it.
thanks! I practice Muay Thai and one of the guys at the gym told me about a tactic where an opponent waits for you to move in with a Thai Hop (the move Saenchai tends to use a lot) and then throws a push-kick. So, is that the same idea? To understand the opponent's rhythm and throw one of these kicks at the exact moment he steps in?
Jeff my bro, I get goosebumps every time the MMA Shredded notification goes off. This Tactic breakdown was awesome. Loved the head kick at the closing of the cockscrew uppercut combo😁
Awesome, I miss these earlier fights tkd moves Connor used. Against Siver it was unreal how he outclassed him. He used to say he would get some high kick/ spinning kick kos. Maybe he's fallen too much in love for his hands, thinking he can ko any boxer out there...
Another astute and insightful vid. Yeah, McGregor likes to throw jabs and strikes from unexpected directions, like that corkscrew upper ... reminds me a little of one of Mohammed Ali's unnamed moves where (if I remember correctly) he'd bob in slightly, feint his head low and inside, and as his opponent's eyes tracked him low he'd throw a fast looping overhand hook from outside to his opponent's temple, right at the edge of their peripheral vision. BTW, props for not editing out failed attempts ... love the honesty. Failure is the greatest teacher, and deserves repect.
I really like this one. I was hoping you would include his pawing strategy as that's a big part of his kit. I think his setups are really nice, and flow very well for his style. Having a bunch of tools in your toolbox, really makes you a well rounded fighter. I wonder do you take low percentage shots and try to make the percentages higher? or do you use them more situational? I learned some things are lower percentage on landing, But I've learned when to land those type of shots in certain situations to make their percentages go up. or am i the only one that things like this ?
I will throw certain techniques more depending on my opponent's stance, so yeah I would say I account for low percentage shots vs high percentage shots! thanks for watching !
Late to the comment party... but, I must say, your videos are really well put togheter, I used to watch another youtuber, but you are much much better.... Thank you
@@MMAShredded i must master that,i just wonder how did mcgregor learn such sharp shots that inflict damage even to floyd, and his kicks are like snaps,i doubt someone in ireland teached him such finesse.the guy analyzed other fighters and done it for hours and hours beside normal training for sure
MMAShredded no problem man 😊. Im 16 and i started muay thai in january. I train 2 times a week. How long do u think it will take untill i am quite good?
Jeff I’m more than thankful for your channel, I’m beginning an MMA career and I’ve even cultivated my own martial art. Your videos have helped me up my game even more and also give more knowledge to my students, for like the universe consciousness is ever expanding. Once again keep doing what you do and thank you so much 🙏🏾
I may be wrong but I think he feints the left cross (after having landed it a couple of times) to disguise the outside lean he uses to setup the corkscrew uppercut. These are great videos BTW 👍
@@MMAShredded We need a video on how to take a punch like that old beast he punched. You could tell the old man was holding back from showing him how they threw down back in the day.
Thank you for teaching all of this information. I have been bullied and beat up for a while and I was finally able to beat him badly enough for him to leave me alone. I don’t really like fighting that much but I love it when needed. But I like to try to talk things out.
1: Slip and cross 2: Corskcrew uppercut and cross 3: Lead leg shuffle side kick 4: Lead leg shuffle heel kick 5: Spinning side kick 6: Spinning heel kick 7: Rear uppercut, hook and cross 8: Scissor kick 9: Rear push kick, jab and cross
In general, I would avoid using the lead hook kick unless you train it to the level of van damme. It can be used against certain opponents to confuse them, but you have be powerful and precise with it, otherwise it is ineffective. The spinning side kick though is a great weapon, as you can see in MMAShredded's sparring - far more effective. I would suggest looking at "the Turkish Samurai" videos online to see how to use it offensively. But, you can use it in many other ways, too. For instance, one of my instructors, Jim Caldecourt (ISKA and WKMA world kickboxing champion), you can use it to control the ring craft. When you back someone up into a corner, they will either duck out to the left or to the right, let's say you are both orthodox fighters, he will move to your left, you can hit him really quick with a spinning side kick without moving half as much which can then back him up in the corner, if he moves to the left you hit him with a hard right round kick. This is part of the ring craft as you are then controlling where your opponent is and moving him onto your shots. You can also use it as a surprise attack, so in kickboxing if you are trading body shots you can put your weight on the front foot spring back with a jumping back spinning kick and catch them under the ribs, which then gives you distance so you can come in with a round kick, tip, jumping knee or something else that gets them off guard and breaks up that rhythm. In fact there are many ways to use that kick, but a great tool.
Beautiful breakdown. His best tactic however is using his right hand to gauge distance by placing it not the neck of his opponents. It’s what is truly unique to him.
just found your channel and I enjoy watching you sparr as it is very technical. Also enjoy the breakdowns of different fighting styles, keep it up man :)
For all these kicks setup is key. Jump scissor kick should be set up by landing some shuffle/stepping front teeps so they think body when you step and raise the knee. Skipping side kick is slow enough that all your sparring partners could catch or parry it, though you rechambered quickly enough in most cases. Use the same skip to hit some switch kicks to the lead leg to get them to plant and check.
I am a big fan of your videos and I see them from Argentina, I do not know English but I still understand the tactics very well, please keep it that way (this text I did with a translator)
Your videos are a huge help when I train outside of my gym. I'd really like to see Ngannou signature moves, if there's even enough material for that haha.
Solid breakdown, Especially how you show how it's applied in sparring against multiple opponents. One question I have though, you pointed out the cross counter off of the outside slip but no mention of it off the inside slip which is the traditional use of a cross counter, and a much harder shot that he uses far more often. He also uses alot of this whilst on the front foot pressuring them backwards, specifically he layers decoy jabs on the lead to bait a response then times that response with his cross counter (eddie alvarez and both diaz fights are a perfect example), a proactive based approach to an almost exclusively reactionary weapon, very rare and definitely worth mentioning, not to mention has the highest potential for a KO
That man shows also his mistakes that we can commit, what a great channel !
Thanks for the support bro!
LOVE how you take the time to demonstrate everything in different stance scenarios. This is the one thing I think other channels miss and leaves people confused as to how they can implement the techniques in their own game.
Great video bro
thanks man!!
the slip counter works well for Connor because he has insanely long arms for his weight class
True!
couldn't agree more!
Frrl 74 inches.. mines 73 at 6ft.. and he's 5,9
he still used it well against Diaz, you're forgetting. everybody can use it. all you have to do is drill it countless times and find the timing
OdinMMA Don’t forget Kevin Lee’s reach either... the guy is 5’9~ with a 77in reach, and that’s not an error
that spinning side kick is really dangerous, its hard to expect, its accurate and quite difficult to defend or counter. Great technique
I love your channel because you literally show the mistakes which we can do by accident. No other showed this. You are great!!!
thank you brother!
Why have you not made a video yet about the King Artem Lobov's tactics? I need an example of his legendary headbutt to the fist tactic.

The spinning kicks are great to keep opponent from circling out to your back.
On your standard side kick chamber the leg up the kick at more of a downward angle towards his gut, it puts more power in the side kick.
Sweet, will try that. Thanks for the tip.
