He won two division championships at the same time… twice… in two different organizations…. In different periods of his life. Absolutely mad lad legend
It's so interesting to see the different approach between 145 and 155. At 45 he just lets his oppoent hit him, because they can't faze him with their power, but at 55 he slips the punches beautifully. I mean that takedown and of course the finish, just amazing...
+Top10MetalSongs Ya thats a good point because watching him in this fight he looks unhittable but against the smaller guys he doesnt seem to care if he gets hit.
I hate all of the hype. Is he fun to watch? Sure. But skill wise he isnt EXTREMELY impressive. I don't see him having a good shot at beating Aldo. I don't think he would win against Mendes or Edgar. Both mendes and edgar could pretty easily take him down and hold him there. Mendes and Edgar both have much better footwork. Mendes is so strong, Edgar is so skilled. Aldo is both extremely strong and skilled.
***** I have been boxing for a long time as well. Competitively at that. And You are right. But its easy to get angles on stationary targets. The opponents he's faced thus far are not near the level of Aldo, Mendes, or edgar. Edgar moves WAY to much to get good angles on. Thats part of what makes him so difficult to fight. He is constantly changing direction and going in and out of range. Mendes has very good angles, and probably would match the footwork of Conor. Only Mendes has more power in his hands, and mix that in with his wrestling prowess, Conor would lose that fight. Aldo outmatches Conor in all categories.
Jack Laden I disagree.. I think he has the striking advantage against everyone in the division, his reach will be too much for mendes, Aldo is too stationary.. However as you say against Frankie it becomes much harder, he's the toughest guy in the division with the best wrestling after watching him destroy a very dangerous bjj blackbelt in Cub I wonder if Conor could do much against a guy like that, if he can't finish him by strikes or submit him in the first 2 rounds I would bet my house on Frankie...
Tom Evans Maybe youre right! Tbh, i havent watched every McGregor fight, so I really am just going off of stats and older fights. Maybe he can out strike aldo, Although I'd hardly call Aldo "Stationary". Aldo has probably the fastest feet going forward and backing up. Even faster than Frankie at times. But McGregor does only go forward and backward, he has full circle movement. If he can utilize that effectively against Aldo, I can see Conor getting an edge. But I think youre right. Frankie is a really rough match up for Conor in particular.

Mark Butler Some people are born to over-analyze things. It's called being a geek. And yes, they are MMA geeks if they are doing that, whether they'd like to admit that or not.
Mark Butler McGregor is possibly on steroids. Just observe his physique and explosiveness in Siver fight. But in the Mendes fight, his power and explosiveness disappears completely. The Mendes fight was after the new UFC drug testing methods.
If THIS conor was stll in competition he could beat anybody. His confidence in his balanced skills here are NUTS. that kick into a takedown was awesome man
***** Most MMA commentators and journalists are ignoramuses about martial arts in general and only listen to popular trends. They also make up idiotic names for moves that already have a perfectly good name but pretend they do not exist outside of MMA.
***** I hear ya man an second it! I am so sick of judges ruling wins to stupid lay and pray rasslers. In real life the man who wins a fight is the one who is not hurt as bad as the other man. But yes its great when commentators use proper martial arts terms for moves.
CrossOut k A lot of people. What if people started calling punches kicks or something random? It matters to keep techniques understood by the general viewer. The best names for techniques are the martial arts styles terms for them.
If you think like that your either gay or turned on yourself.I have been into mma since the start, and loved so many fighters, but tossing off to a fighter sounds fucking weird.I know Rogan has talked about it, but generally fans don't like rude or insulting, or delusional fighters. When Conor says he carried the UFC on his back, it sounds ever so slightly delusional, so I should say, "oh you have a strong back, you do", or do you keep it real and tell him to put his money where his mouth is. The Irish fans could be said to have carried the UFC, because if Conor didn't have a huge following, he would be another Artem, but because of his brash ways, and the fact that Ireland need any hero, he has done great, but the guy is a pratt. Selfies and a new car every month, just feels insulting to any fans. Same as Mayweather, money is everything, and it's sad. There are so many fighters doing good things for charities etc.from wages, less than 1% of your idol.I like people who give, you like people who take. The guy was on welfare 3 years ago,now he wants a piece of the UFC sale. Why isn't he thanking them for making him rich, why doesn't he try and get higher wages for others? The guy wants to take take. Cool
It turned out that the sweet-talking, tattoo-sporting pikey was a gypsy bare-knuckle boxing champion. Which makes him harder than a coffin nail. Right now, that's the last thing on Tommy's mind. If Gorgeous doesn't wake up in the next few minutes, Tommy knows he'll be buried with him. Why would the gypsies go through the trouble of explaining why a man died in their campsite when they can bury the pair of them and just move camp? It's not like they got social security numbers, is it? Tommy - the tit - is praying. And if he isn't, he fucking should be.
This was definitely McGregor's best fight. He became a two-weight champion in Cage Warriors, he showed great diversity in his striking and even a bit of ground game and he got the highlight-reel KO out cold.
+reiwell del bruce lee is an overrated hollywood fighter, only people who pay testimony to his skills were weak movie stars. he's get stomped by Conor or anyone at the top of the ufc
WesternInfantry I think you got it twisted. Hollywood only obscured what Bruce Lee was really about. You referred to him as a "hollywood fighter", which is something he never really wanted to be seen as. Roles he did not want. Read a bit more of history kiddo before you speak when adults are talking.
WesternInfantry he fought in little competitions where you have to finish an opponent under a certain time. But guess what, there was no ufc in his time. Boxing is as close as you can get to real fighting. If youre going to be so naive, dont be so critical because you sound like an idiot. Also if you didnt know Bruce developed his own martial art style, and he has taught thousands of people. You seem to be like one of those people who only get his information from the t.V. Get outta here.
***** lots of people create their own martial arts styles and variations on arts like bjj. muay thai etc. there is absolutely no evidence he would hang with the elite of the world then and especially not now. he hasnt earned the titles afforded to him
Man prime Conor’s mma striking was quite frankly the best most accurate striking I’ve ever seen maybe aside from prime Anderson Silva, but in terms of hands, Conor is at the top alone. Sucks that he had to get into boxing which completely changed his style and it doesn’t seem like he has the same quick extremely accurate killer left anymore
Imo-- this is Conor's best performance. Full fight, action packed. The counter striking, the timing of those latter spear-headed jabs, the final counter left, the way he transitioned into a sprawl/shoot the moment the spinning roundhouse kick missed was really amazing. Props
Nice slipping and ducking at 2:55, 4:45 and 6:05 - he does this often, did it against Aldo as well, it often leads to some really effective counters and in the end was the setup for the finishing blow of this fight. But I wonder if someday someone will exploit the fact that he ducks to the left and catch him with a headkick
+BenRangel Yeah man that duck and lead before the combo is brutal! I don't think he really did this when fighting Aldo though, and I'm not sure if he does it often enough for someone to exploit. Conor's ground game however is where i feel he is weak.
Yea I know but I started watching from his first fight and this one was by far when most of his elements showed. In the UFC vs Holloway I was blown away by his amazing performance.
Fun fact: Buchinger said in an interview years after the fight: “Btw, once I placed a bet on myself. And it was the fight against Conor Mcgregor. I checked him on youtube and thought - i am going to kill that guy, no way I am losing this one. So I called my friend back in Slovakia to place a hundred on me…” - it became funny story for him, Ivan seems like a super nice humble guy
Absolute great technical striking from Mcgregor in this bout, crazy to see how polished his striking was even 3-5 years ago. Scary to think this dude has only gotten better, Buchinger by the way is no slouch and is on a 9 fight win streak in M-1 right now.

***** he is Irish but the Mcgregors came from scotland an outlawed clan is why they moved to Ireland ...the second name is scottish is why he made the mistake in thinking he was infact scottish
evilscotsmin Just to let you know the MacGregor blood line originates from Ireland well before the arrival of the Vikings to Britain and Ireland the clan settled along the coast of Scotland and the islands witch was then apart of Dál Riata a Gaelic over kingdom and northeastern Ulster in Ireland, across the North Channel of Scotland and the Scottish Isles. In the late 6th-early 7th century. MacGregor is Anglicised form of the Scottish Gaelic MacGriogair. The Gaelic name was originally a patronym, and means "son of Griogar". The Gaelic personal name Griogar is a Gaelicised form of the name Gregory. The surname is used by members of the Scottish Clan Gregor, also known as Clan MacGregor which is now uniquely a Scottish highland name.
Yeah but nothing compares to that English crowd cheering on there native, Conor mcgregor. You can see in this guys face when he starts getting intimidated, it's when he's realizing that he really cannot keep up with how many different types of strikes and kicks connor can come at him with from nearly any angle he wants. It's incredible to watch.
+Wodinn want to suck him off with me
+Sloth I see, you are one of those people.
+Wodinn Infamous sloth slut
And yeah Connor is for sure one special dude. Slowly starting to be a icon.
What a match! Conor McGregor really rose to fame in Cage Warriors before joining the UFC and becoming a global superstar 👏👏👏👏👏😊
People are crazy overanalyzing these fights. Mcgregor is a KO machine, just sit back and enjoy it.
North American RUclipsr And his ridiculous coordination, balance, hip dexterity, cold rage, etc.
BearKillerBJJ and his fucking awareness is insane
Well said/.
What the heck was that reverse-oblique kick thrown at 5:35?! And it landed!
marcagel a taunt
Coolnicknameguy hahaha
Muay Thai front leg guard. It's used to block an outside leg kick and can also hurt the opponent if timed correctly and he did.
41RobLow Interesting... I've seen AS throw a lot of those, but never reversed (behind the leg).
***** Anderson Silva did it too a long time ago!I'm not sure which fight.
If THIS conor was stll in competition he could beat anybody. His confidence in his balanced skills here are NUTS. that kick into a takedown was awesome man
Conor is one of the most athletic fighters I've ever seen. IRISH PRIDE!!
conor mcgregor is a phenom.
I didn't know that Ivan wrestled in M.M.A with a legend like Connor, great honor to him 🇸🇰
His stand up been on point for years.. When you own ya craft like he does and keep perfecting it the sky is the limit#Respectgreatness
Damn. Classic McGregor is dangerous. That slip n' rip KO was beautiful 😮
Such a simple technique but delivered with such elegance and precision. Young Conor was a different breed.
The Conor that we all love and miss ❤ wish we could get this Conor back
He’d have to lose about 200 million dollars and I don’t foresee that happening soon.
That KO punch was a thing a beauty, the small head slip then generating that much power in his left hook with a tight backswing.
One of the most beautiful KOs I have ever seen
best slip KO i have seen
Sorry that first kick was not capoeira, it was Taekwondo. But the kick after it was capoeira.
MaharlikaAWA who gives a fuck what it is.
CrossOut k A lot of people. What if people started calling punches kicks or something random? It matters to keep techniques understood by the general viewer. The best names for techniques are the martial arts styles terms for them.
MaharlikaAWA true good point
Conor back in the days was a very well rounded mixed martial arts fighter. Really dynamic and could do it all
That Conor McGreger is one tough little Frenchman!
Irish... Dude... Irish.
Shane Bond itcork caught a couple of fish with that one!
lmfao
That is one of my favorite KO's I've ever seen. It looked like a Video Game. Dodge, counter, KO. Amazing.
I swear down people who hate conor try to find every video, picture of him just to comment hate while tossing them selves off
Exactly. Something wrong in their heads.
Cool
+Kim Dobrin Aha chill out grumpy ass, can't take a joke
+Kim Dobrin chill
Conor is overhyped because he keeps fighting smaller guys. Diaz shed some light onto the bravado.
Respect
That Snatch movie reference
This was definitely McGregor's best fight. He became a two-weight champion in Cage Warriors, he showed great diversity in his striking and even a bit of ground game and he got the highlight-reel KO out cold.
José Aldo and 658 others did not like this video.
this was conor at his best, still young and quick.
He's still young, we're the same age so it's true.
I feel Connor pays homage to Bruce Lee. He is applying Bruce's theories to competitive fighting. Something Bruce haven't fully able to do.
+reiwell del bruce lee is an overrated hollywood fighter, only people who pay testimony to his skills were weak movie stars. he's get stomped by Conor or anyone at the top of the ufc
WesternInfantry
I think you got it twisted. Hollywood only obscured what Bruce Lee was really about.
You referred to him as a "hollywood fighter", which is something he never really wanted to be seen as. Roles he did not want.
Read a bit more of history kiddo before you speak when adults are talking.
***** he never fought any elites competitively. hes a hollywood fighter
Yeah, boxing stopped him from being “an extremely accurate killer”….. nothing to do with money, fame, cocaine or alcohol………..😂😂😂😂😂
His stand up is amazing at these weights.
That's got to be the most impressive performance from him yet, he was ALMOST flawless! Incredible timing, and accuracy too
Can you imagine. "He's a gentleman outside of the cage"
Wow, that was impressive!
Trop bien j'avais jamais vue les débuts !
this conor mcgregor guy is pretty good, the UFC should sign him
His left hand is dangerous.
feels like it was yesterday
This kid can have a future in the ufc
definitely a tough kid and one to keep an eye on
Dana, give him a chance pls
Wow! He owned that shit.
+Holly R well bitch, your dreams came true.
+Holly R Don't take the b word to heart
That straight punch is phenomenal. Fast ,accurate ,timed and solid .
5:35 i remember my classmate Victor taught me this same kick while we were playing soccer in elementary school 😂😂 conor’s a mad lad
McGregor is poetry in motion
Imo-- this is Conor's best performance. Full fight, action packed. The counter striking, the timing of those latter spear-headed jabs, the final counter left, the way he transitioned into a sprawl/shoot the moment the spinning roundhouse kick missed was really amazing. Props
We need this macgroger back
Nice slipping and ducking at 2:55, 4:45 and 6:05 - he does this often, did it against Aldo as well, it often leads to some really effective counters and in the end was the setup for the finishing blow of this fight. But I wonder if someday someone will exploit the fact that he ducks to the left and catch him with a headkick
+BenRangel omg, how did you notice those? nice comment bro, respect
+BenRangel Yeah man that duck and lead before the combo is brutal! I don't think he really did this when fighting Aldo though, and I'm not sure if he does it often enough for someone to exploit. Conor's ground game however is where i feel he is weak.
+BenRangel When he does it sometimes i dont think the enemy is fast enough to give him in this few seconds a nice headkick
I used to get headkicked in sparring cus of that lmao
This is a cool fight. I've only watched Connor in the UFC. Wow! He was good.
Aldo lullaby.....
+Jonathan Engström Exact same way
This Conor McGregor was a world beater
Speechless this fight is a lot different than his other ones. His style is at such a top level here!
+Carlos Auza you don't think he's looked as impressive in the ufc? Are you nuts. Remember, he's fighting much much higher level guys than this dude.
Connor before he was destroyed by boxing was amazing
Absolute great technical striking from Mcgregor in this bout, crazy to see how polished his striking was even 3-5 years ago. Scary to think this dude has only gotten better, Buchinger by the way is no slouch and is on a 9 fight win streak in M-1 right now.
hungry mcgregor was unstoppable mcgregor. let that sink in haters.
That first kick would've ended it if it hit
That finish was surgical. Poetry in motion
Conor McGregor, the toughest little Eskimo on the planet...
22grena Who is 'itscork'?
getfitdit irish
Amber Nectar What about Irish?
haha dont mind the pathetic low life "getfitdit" all he does is go around and type shit on professional fighters on the interentt hiding behind his little keyboard, like the keyboard warrior he is... That litle nerd aint got shit in real life. Hes little feeble mind cant comprehend the skills conor posesses, cuz he hasnt trained martial arts in his whole life. what a punk
Neutron 3000 You've resorted to stalking me around the internet, that's creepy but not surprising, I'm glad to see that I take up so much of your time, I've really got to you :)
6:11 referee's push to conor was so funny 😂😂
Hardest shot Connor took all night
I'm glad we have film of all of his fights. So we can enjoy them again because he will never, ever look or move like this again.
This was true flow state 😂.now he’s stuck in the mud
Conor Mcgregor is the pride of North Korea and Ghana.
Hungry Conor was a savage
great fighter, loves going about his business, striking from different positions and using many styles,he has the ability and showmanship to become a mma legend.
The referee could destroy both of them. You see the way he pushed Conor xD
Pride of Scotland!
Go McGregor, go!!!
cock sucker!
***** he is Irish but the Mcgregors came from scotland an outlawed clan is why they moved to Ireland ...the second name is scottish is why he made the mistake in thinking he was infact scottish
***** itcork caught more fish!
evilscotsmin Just to let you know the MacGregor blood line originates from Ireland well before the arrival of the Vikings to Britain and Ireland the clan settled along the coast of Scotland and the islands witch was then apart of Dál Riata a Gaelic over kingdom and northeastern Ulster in Ireland, across the North Channel of Scotland and the Scottish Isles. In the late 6th-early 7th century. MacGregor is Anglicised form of the Scottish Gaelic MacGriogair. The Gaelic name was originally a patronym, and means "son of Griogar". The Gaelic personal name Griogar is a Gaelicised form of the name Gregory. The surname is used by members of the Scottish Clan Gregor, also known as Clan MacGregor which is now uniquely a Scottish highland name.
evilscotsmin no, he just trolls McGregor vids.
Its amazing watching cage fighters and thinking this unknown could potentially be the best fighter on the planet
2:49 Featherweight Conor is something else
This is at lightweight though
When Conor had the “eye of the tiger”… I miss Conor being on the social welfare lol.
damn i love his slow walking towards his opponents with his hands down, with the occasional taunting, gives me the chills. damn those punches
Let me see can I catch some fish.
It's great to see Conor McGregor putting Britain back on the UFC map.
Britan my ass hes Dublin ireland he aint from the north he from republic like me
The troll wants fish, don't feed the troll!
Lol, I wanna join in. Just gotta say, Conor is really showing what the Brits can do!! I good English fighter!!
I didn't like them (they were Irish)!!
Yeah but nothing compares to that English crowd cheering on there native, Conor mcgregor. The English are so patriotic and they proved it, just think when he's champ, he will be the first European (from England) to hold a belt. There were only 8,000 Brits there, but they got behind there man and sounded like 70,000 English strong. England, what a country!!
Icelandic Fury? Viking? I thought he was Irish lol
+Sheip he was partly training in iceland with gunnar nelson for this fight
+Sheip same thing... partly
+Sheip The UK was invaded and ruled by vikings for awhile. English is a Germanic language. So there's definitely viking blood in there.
rollerboogie Ireland was invaded by the vikings, England was invaded & part of the Roman Empire until the Germans came along.
+rollerboogie. He's Irish...
That slip Collin did just before the left hook on the chin was perfectly timed, awesome
And people say he isn't a wrestler the gym were Cedric doumbe train aka mcgregor gym in irland literraly said that mcgregor was the best wrestler in the gym and he is a wrestler after all
Macgregor don’t look lie that anymore
