    • @231camelo
      @231camelo 3 года назад +7

      Exactly. As soon as he started the fight with that stance I was worried. Maybe its only sustainable stamina-wise for him to move like that at FW or something idk but I miss this dynamic and fluid version of conor.

      Dude it was one fight.......

    • @231camelo
      @231camelo 3 года назад +13

      @@raiderrichard7291 He's been less dynamic and more boxing focused/head hunting in essentially all of his recent fights starting with the mendes one. Granted hes won fights, some in spectacular fashion, with a more minimalist style and some fights call for different approaches but I think both poirier and diaz were more easily able to find success because he's more predictable now. In fact, he showed that with his adjustment in the diaz rematch. Just compare conors performance vs max, or vs siver, and how unorthodox he was to his more recent fights.

    • @ctc1996
      @ctc1996 3 года назад +10

      @@231camelo but the Mendes fight if you remember clearly he used A LOT of body kicks to ruin chad. Not just boxing. I think mcgregor shouldn’t have left 145 ever, what do you think? Usman, Khabib , even Poirier all cut about 30 pounds so idk why everyone judged conor so much for looking anorexic at weigh ins. Lots of people look iffy at weigh in, once rehydrated in the ring he looked fine. I think he could have stayed undefeated at 145

    • @231camelo
      @231camelo 3 года назад +2

      @@ctc1996 Yeah, I'm not saying he just boxed bc he used teeps a lot and mendes posed a wrestling challenge as well but I think that's where the signs of him becoming a bit more flat-footed and more boxing-focused started. With him at 145, I might agree with your points. Although it's great that he got his goal of two division champ and I'm glad he did that, I think a run at 145 may be best for him. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess but, like you said, lots of fighters cut 30 lbs or so to get down to their weight division. To me his striking looked kind of flat and off in both the khabib and poirier fight compared to how he looked vs eddie and all his 145 fights. Maybe it is his inactivity thats the issue though.

    “Aldo is enjoying this....smiling...resting heartbeat blah blah” literally just read an article that said the complete opposite. Fighters who smile like Aldo did there are scarred and end up being the submissive one in the fight and they not only lose more but get KO’d more. Interestingly, Poirer mendes aldo Alvarez all smiled multiple times during intense moments. They were all put on their back foot and ultimately stopped. Brimage didn’t smile and came at him full force swinging, as did Brandao never on the back foot. Holloway, Khabib and Nate also never smiled with him, non of which were stopped by Conor, and two of which beat Conor

    I don’t get why people say Dustin started winning once he didn’t get dropped by conors left... conor lands plenty of left hands on siver without dropping him. Difference is Conor mixed a lot of kicks with setting up punches. In my eyes he’s never had huge knock out power but keeps tagging with clean shots, almost volume striking like.

      Thing is back at 145 mcgregor was more of a volume fighter he stopped being one after he moved up in weight and lost to Diaz. Look at how he fought Diaz the 1st time then the second. The 1st he basically was the 145 mcgregor just bigger and slower plus more muscle means you'll gas quicker. So he scrapped that style. The second he was timing his shots no flashy kicks that's the mcgregor of today. He was able to drop Diaz 3 times with the patient, controlled approach and Alvarez 5 times. That's why he is getting hate for not being able to drop poirier even though he landed so cleanly. McGregor is losing some of that power but his left hand is still very very lethal.

    Really Joe? You didn’t seem to notice that Siver was rocked by a flying knee there. Maybe Siver needs to be careful?
