      @@DatNerddSwaqq
Exactly. In my opinion Perez was as much to blame for Monaco as Kmag was. Initially, even though I'm a Dane myself, I judged it as solely on Kmag. That is until I saw the footage of Perez checking his mirrors several times BEFORE pulling to the right.
It wasn't just, as the commentators and many have claimed, that the track was naturally closing the gap - Perez closed the gap. You can see that he actually moves to the right, he changes his line on, what Kmag has argued, is to be considered a "straight".
Given the circumstances, that this is one of the few places on Monaco where overtaking is remotely possible, that there's no runoff and no where for Kmag to go, that Kmag, when Perez does close the gap after checking his mirrors, already has his front wheel past Perez's rear, Perez was, as I see it, as much obliged to leave space as Kmag was to back out.
If, on that spot on Monaco, one of the only "straights", you aren't required to leave space for a faster car moving alongside you, then Monaco is truly a waste of time.

Unpopular Take: Checo was at fault in that incident, not Kmag. Checo squeezed him against the wall on what effectively was a straight. Checo was checking his right mirror the whole time, so he knew Kevin was there.

THAT would be correct, when you look at the penalty KMag got in Saudi on lap 11, where Albon "leaves" his car so Kmag hits him if he goes for the optimum line for the entrance to the following corner, leaving Albon with "No room to race", exactly the same Checo does, leaving KMag "No room to race".

Something which really rubbed people the wrong way was how Kevin responded to some questions following his penalty bingo. Considering how Nico sometimes outperforms Magnussen and even gets to Q3, you have to question if K-Mag's going full send regardless of the risk is actually paying off. And that considering that all that style gave him was a costly repair bill for both Haas cars.

Kevin is doing what Valtteri once did at Mercedes, or Kimi once did at Ferrari, or Jarno Trulli once did - it's the nature of the sport that the teams prioritise points over individual position. Kevin is a greta driver; it's just a shame that he's been stuck in the HAAS team...

I agree that not all of his moves were necessary but at least he has some balls to actually race aggressively. Something that a lot of drivers either forgot or dont know how to

As the one Haas fan, I never liked Magnussen. I always thought he was underperforming and was only propped up by Grosjean complete incompetency. This became even clear when he was paired with Hulkenburg. That being said, my opinion of him has improved this season, because despite not having the ability to earn points on merit he has shown to be a good team mate that puts the wellbeing of the team ahead of personal ego. Watching him park the bus across the race track was fun and entertaining and I imagine that would be in every race if there were no blue flags. Why are there blue flags again?

I really do have a soft spot for the Haas F1 team. They are by far one of the most budget-constrained teams on the grid, and instead of whining about it and accepting defeat (cough cough Williams), they just do their best to fight tooth and nail for every point they can get their hands on. Because of this, they often have different strategies than teams with objectively better cars, and manage to punch way above their weight, even if it means pulling some questionable moves like making kmag the sacrificial penalty car. I could only imagine what they could do given the funds that RB and Ferrari have. In my opinion, they embody the spirit of racing more than any other F1 team on the grid.

I agree with every word of this video. I get it, but if the FIA doesn't want drivers to do whatever is necessary to get their team (including their teammate) points, then they should't make it a team sport. Kevin wouldn't have near this many penalty points or crashes if every driver were out for himself. They have a LOT more of a chance getting much-needed cash into Haas in the Constructor's Championship than that for the drivers.

i love bringing up the french fight in all of this, because before we can really say he’s in the wrong and or in the right, we have to look back in time at the sports history. Perez was heavily criticized for his race craft used a few seasons back and he did it in no advantage of himself but the teams. Blocking, tagging, hitting, and using “dangerous” manuevers in Hamilton in order for Verstappen to pull larger leading gaps and to win the races he did to help the max win the championship. granted he never really took anyone out (that i can remember right now i’m spit balling here). We also imo should look back at a time where hamilton was taking out any redbull he came insight of 2 seasons ago(might be wrong on the year). I wasn’t personally a huge Albon fan myself but man did i feel bad watching him get taken out at least 3 times by Hamilton and he wasn’t even a championship contender. But no one wanted to talk about how that wasn’t fair. I think what is different more about this then the previous is he’s affected now almost every other team on the grid in multiple ways now so kmags basically pissed off every fan at least once this year in some way. I’m personally a ferrari fan myself so i’ve been screaming mostly at my own team this year then anyone else but i want to say i can defend kmag for his actions. the logan sergant one was kind of iffy i think that was a rookie move. but most of the other instances have been with good intentions overall and with purpose. attacking perez wasn’t bad driving, it was a desperately needed move on a track where overtake is only done when everyone’s tight (like lap 1) or in the pits. so i think it was just a racing incident on both ends, guy was clearly there before the wall came up and it’s not in any of these guys natures to lift, so some courtesy is needed on both ends. (im high af hopefully this makes sense and i don’t sound crazy)
