thats intentional yeah, they even use the same color for the armor in the mini trailer on their twitter. the people who work on the terrapin medical clearly love the trauma team
Pretty cool little ship I do like how they listened and added that jump seat, i still would like to see a small gun rack or at least a log bed on the ship would be nice
The paint presentation was nice, a great addition to your format. I'm pretty happy that the ship didn't become extremely expensive, but on the other hand I'm a bit annoyed that I can't upgrade from the standard terrapin. I would probably have bought one if it had the option to bedlog. So I'll keep my standard version and hope for a version with cargo space in the future.
I love your intros, great shots and working those camera angles. The paint showcase is a great touch, I would love to see more of that (as you can). Your review itself was great and yeah, it's a great ship. It'd be perfect to me if I could securely store any boxes, and if we retained a weapon rack / locker. There is still room for it, but I gather that CIG doesn't want it to become everyone's sole bunker runner (which is exactly what I'd want to use it for haha). Looking forward to more videos, EvenLease. Hope you had a great holiday!
@@VikingrBerserker thank you! I agree with you they did certain things on purpose so it didn’t outdo every ship below it becoming more than over capable.
Love the paint showcase! Great addition to the videos. For mine the only thing missing is the gun rack, would loved to seen that included. Otherwise it's pretty rad.
Just did a simple bunker run using a rental medapin. It’s very fast in NAV in atmosphere (I haven’t flown a Terrapin since IAE 2021), and it ‘feels’ tough. The 2x S2 repeaters make strafing NPCs very easy, as they are close together. Like the Medical Pisces, there’s no cargo grid, but you could stick 2x 2scu storage containers next to the medbed.
Man, this is a great song, love the ship, but I find that the cutlass red checks more boxes for me and was able to get the C1 and the cutlass for about the same price 🫡 love your work!
Luv both Terrapins so brought them both, luuuv the aestetics both inside/out, the shield is cute and interior screen/lighting adds to the ambience, and and the paints really compliment. Overall the price is perfect and more usable than the apollo's. The ship doesn't need Bedlog, as its role is to get in and out as quickly as possible, pilot stays seated while injured are brought onboard. Stats dont matter, as stats can change daily, yet its role wont. I only buy as an indulgence.
Cool combat medic ship. But no storage and no vehicle and no decontamination section is bad. Cool it can fit in a Polaris hangar. I tried it during free rent and my buddy got a T2 injury (first I have seen in months) which was convenient but the “tanky” turtle also soft death to two missiles that couldn’t be flared.
First of all, thanks again for the great review! I really liked the new Terrapin, thought so at first. your new c8r rescue upgrade with t2 bed. now it has turned out to be a real dailey driver. i have replaced the two badgers with atrittions s2, all components too and lo and behold it is even more suitable for combat than i thought. 168k hull hp are mighty, so the thing feels like it can take more than a conni andromeda, plus two s2 shields are neat, a pulse also fits in. the only thing i miss is a logout bed and a toilet. great vtols and the new paints especially the vitality are really nice (but I got them all, congierge paint pack). Really funny ship the Terrapin Medic!
I enjoyed using it for medical. Saw some good use as a recovery ship for the idris missions for people, since it was tanky. Took a beating for sure, but held up. Going forward I will still go for the drake red, but this will be fantastic for others who like medical gameplay. Having multiple options will be nice, especially if medical gameplay gets better.
I play medic a lot, and from my experience I hang around stations a lot waiting for beacons if I'm not running simple bunker missions or something, so I don't really need a bed or all that, I can just go to the station. I'm shocked at the lack of a pistol/rifle rack though at least a pistol rack for medguns, there's some spots they coulda squeezed one in. There is the crew storage but for all we know we might not be able to shove weapons in them one day, which could suck for a medic especially considering we won't be able to sit in pilot seats wearing backpacks/rifles on our back one day. I mean if they have t1 injuries you need to take them to a station hospital anyways. It's not like ambulances irl are constantly driving around waiting for a call, probably posted somewhere if need be or at some resting spot somewhere at a hospital. So again I'm gonna be sitting around at a station after that beacon anyways if I have to go to one.
I think it may help everyone to consider this as a 'medical fighter', in that it operates in a similar role. It is designed to operate from a carrier or base, go out to do its mission, and return. Like a fighter, it doesn't need the living space of a full ship or its exploration predecessor, and like a fighter, it does without to free up resources for upgrading those medical facilities that otherwise would only be able to treat minor wounds. As long as it is used as intended, it should work very well, with the crew sleeping or doing down time at wherever they are based from.
That said, we will see how/if that changes as they move towards needing the right gear to do different tasks. Once we can't sit in pilot seats with backpacks and full armor and such the lack of a gun rack and suit locker might become an issue. I am ok with and can see not having full crew quarters like a bed. I know from a gameplay standpoint people would want it but it makes sense from a ship design standpoint and that this would probably operate off a larger ship it makes sense. But no suit locker and gun locker for the personnel to be able to gear up and go into hostile areas to make rescues seems like a bit oversite and will move the ship from being an awesome bunker runner into being a very niche group/org operation ship.
I would have loved storage for like 1SCU box. Partly to store potential med supplies, or, if people take this to bunker runs, to stash the loot-box without having flopping about as we fly around 😅
Thanks Even Lease! I have enjoyed my standard Terrapin for many years. I 'like' this version, but am disappointed that they unnecessarily removed all the live aboard amenities, gun racks and suit lockers. There was plenty of room to keep most everything. Not sure why they didn't want this ship to sell like crazy.... 🙂
This ship normal version is my old victim while I upgraded my ship to the StarLancer without trying out it before moving on to the StarLancer. Your video made me regret my past decisions 😢
I wished they stuck to the paint concept.I liked the little details on it. Also it would be great the white cross had the black background so it does not look like the swiss flag. (Nothing against Switzerland :D) Would be great we get a 2nd Jumpseat and add seatbelts.
Great review. Personally, I wouldn't subtract points for "crew quarters". You can't have a small ship of this size that's of value for bunkers and combat sites, and then judge it on something where there's simply no space. It's like giving a Carrack a negative score because it can't be spawned at mining outposts. If crew quarters is a must, then there are other alternatives. Otherwise, really enjoyed the vid.
Amazing ship, whilst it doesnt have crew quarters impressive weaponry or a weapon rack i kind of like those facts as it feels more like a a ship designed for a purpose (a space ambulance) rather than something meant to do it all its got its purpose and it does that
Huge fuel tank but no accommodations. I don’t understand the logic. Needs a bathroom and the ability to bed log. Even making it so the med bed is log capable would be a good fix.
I do very much enjoy the Terrapin chassis, its just a shame there hasn't been more variants for it yet...not that I'm expecting a cargo hauling version of it to compete with the Hull-E or anything. A drop ship/bunker runner or single crew-long range explorer/camper van (RV) would be GREAT.
love the med terrapin just wish it wasn’t so damn expensive on the pledge store like the regular as it just doesn’t seem worth it compared to other ships that price
Paint showcase? A+ I agree it needs a gun rack, but mainly for med guns and tractor beams (to move incap personnel). I think the empty cabinet to the left of the med console could be replaced with a 2 small x 2 medium rack. Crew quarters - at most it could use a shower/toilet combo. This would fit into the ships medical role. As it's a very specialized support ship most likely used as part of a group or fleet, I personally don't see a need for comprehensive crew quarters. This ship is too small to fit _all the things_ . Ship firepower - Always "More guns!" with you, EvenLease, 😆 It's a medical ship, not a multi-tasker and certainly not a fighter. It's defense is using its shields and large HP pool (armor soon*tm) to make an escape. Not every ship needs to be combat ready.
I agree with all your points! Honestly I just wish these ships with low amounts of firepower and specific roles away from combat it self didn’t even have guns. It’s not like an ambulance rolls up with guns on the roof lol
@@EvenLease44 I really think CIG got themselves into a rut putting guns on almost every ship regardless of role. IIRC the only ships that have no guns are the Argo MPUVs, the Mirai Fury LX, and the Aegis Sabre Peregrine.
Thank you so much! You’re awesome! Well starting off honestly, the Intrepid or the Avenger Titan are both great starters and then from there it depends what you want to do. If you want to go a more slow paced and working route, you could do the Hull A for cargo, the freelancer max is also great. Otherwise, the vulture is a great little salvage ship that will get you some good money and the prospector is also fun. For being more on the fighting side, starting with the avenger titan and going up to the cutlass black and then choosing from there is a great start also. What do you want to do in Star citizen?
Cutty Red is way better and has 2 medical beds, along with 2 bunk beds for crew, and on top of that, it has a co-pilot seat,... Plus you can fit a small 2 man STV by the back door. Not to be confused with STD.😉
For a mostly solo player it's great for bunkers and clear hostile forces missions. While it does have a little internal storage, you are able to load bodies into the back and return to a station and loot them there.
Thanks for the review, as always so well done, straight to the point. I recently bought the Cutlass Red, just for the sake of trying out "variety" in the game and do something aligned my beliefs but other than cargo hauling, trade and box delivery. The Tier 3 med beds of the Cutlass Red don't compare to the Tier 2 med bed of the Terrapin Medic, but the Cutlass Red does have bunk beds (4) from where to log out, while the Terrapin doesn't. Do you see any reason for exchanging a Cutlass Red for a Terrapin Medic?
If you want a smaller ship that can take a much bigger beating that is when you would want this ship over a cutlass red, otherwise not at this time no - any one of the medical style ships will work for now and since the cutlass has the beds it’s even more convenient.
Did you get to test fitting a Nox inside it or other gravbikes? I like the paint preview. I think I am in the minority of liking the yellow the most. Reminds me of ambulances in my country.
@ Ouch. I was sure the Pulse would fit but I had hoped the nox would too. Where was the issue? In the regular terrapin, the chair was the problem. It meant you had to drive in the door at an angle and wedge it between a wall and the chair, causing issues for getting on and off. Is that still the problem, except now it is a bed? The angle seemed a bit better from the images at least. Or is it the ramp, as afaik it has changed.
I bought the new ghost and terrapin as soon as they released, but I haven’t even spawned them in yet. I love this game but this save Stanton event has been a little exhausting.
It’s destined to go into hostile landing zones and yet no suit locker. How does that make sense ? Luckily there is a sink to go to the bathroom. I plan on using storage boxes to put armored suits in the open area.
I guess I'm not understanding what CIG is going to DO with Tier'd beds in medical ships. Will T2 allow respawn? Or just patch up? You can't treat a squad with one bed. Let alone linger on a battlefield. No seats for all the wounded, just a bed to treat minor injuries that a medical gun can do?
Tier 3 is the least capable med bed. Tier 2 handles much worse injuries and Tier 1 handles the worst of the worst and reconstruction. Right now you can respawn in any tier bed but for how long who knows.
Its disappointing that the ship forgoes weapon racks, i think even despite it being medical its still heavily armored and arguably military. And dissing the bed too? Id be happy if it had the cramped bed that the zeus ES has. Edit: but by god i love the yellow/lime/red skin. Reminds me of transformers bayverse Ratchet
I think it's a lazy version of what the medical Terrapin should have been. As you oointed out, it lacks a bit of firepower or maybe some superior speed as a trade of. The interior is a real lackluster. If they had the Trauma Team in mind when they designed it they clearly forgot the armed aspect of the job. Gun racks and more sits are sorrly needed. At that price point they can keep it.
No they are not needed, the injured are brought to the Medical Terrapin along with an armed escort while the pilot waits to evac, its not a feckin Redeemer....!Oh yeah thats nerfed, a Corsair.....!Oh yeah, so was that, !Ok then its not a C-Black.
Its so disappointing. Cool that they added a flip seat for your combat medic, but where does that combat medic store their weapons at the ready? Those Beams (make them a bit wider) next to the entrance would be suited to take rifles. Also having two Relay Stations, and the one of the relay stations having the size of a full blown component? They could have combined it with the radar above so that there would be space for more weapon racks. I rather fly medic missions with the C8R since it has a fully loaded cabinet and jump seats for two combat medics.
White/gray on the medbay and old dark design for the rest of the ship looks bad when you look at the design colors of the C8R and Carrack that is kinda of uniform with the medbays. Looks like they just rushed the medbay and left the rest of the cockpit. Lots of ships with half ass inernal designs this days, guess need to push them out the door.
I loveeeeee this ship bit it's so overpriced idk why this would be only be 30 bucks less than the apollo and the regular terrapin be more than the zeus es. I think 150 would be a better price point for both ships
it should be tier 3 bed and 110$ because cutlas red is better in every aspect.. if they want - tier 3 should have cutlass red. and than something like medical zeus in range of 200$ to fill the gap between apollo
@@Marvin315 the medical terrapin has a much better healthpool than the red, is smaller, and has a better medical bed. But the Red is a great ship for its cost.
Hopefully you wont do a medical beacon and think I'll lock myself in the cockpit area while the person fixes themself up in the med bed, only to have them destroy most of your components and take your fuse. But that would never happen in SC.
$220 and no bed!? I love the look but this is so mismatched compared to the Cutty Red with multiple beds, multiple med beds (though lower tier), airlocks separate from the external doors on all 3 rear entrances, carries cargo, faster, can carry ground vehicles like a ROC... This has armour....and a tier 2 bed, but lacks all the other features. I'm trying to make it make sense...
Just to state something going on for the new people. For the last year or so ships that have been released with certain stats and components after sales have been gradually getting nerfed to uselessness, after they release a ship with increased stats, speed, and compononts. They have aggressively been doing this harder for the last 4-5 months and now in (spectrum) their own chat servers people are calling them out and are rightfully mad especially after the redeemer and corsair nerf only to find the paladin released with same characteristics and loadouts as the nerfed ships all to push sales. Well sales have taken a huge hit and are down 9% thats millions. So they are now going tk the chats and deleting posts that are speaking against this. Hundreds of posts with thousands of likes mine included, all to silence and hush what is happening. Now they have threatened to ban my account if i keep going. Beware before you buy anything, they are in a suddent change and its all for money not for the player. Ships are getting nerfed tk uselessness and the money youspent in it means nothing all under the umbrella of "alpha" You do with this info ehat you want.
All ships are to get a balance pass. All. Ships. Every single ship that is concept OR released flyable is subject to change until they get everything where they want it. The Paladin in no way is better than the Redeemer, so already your statement is wrong. The Corsair still has some of the best Pilot DPS in the game, again you are wrong. Soon, the Constellations will also get a balance pass. Please do not blame that on another ship just because you do not agree.
@EvenLease44 it's not a "balance pass" and more people see it's not a "balance pass". The Sales this year are speaking volumes tk the loss of trust people are having in CIG. The chats are filled with people having the same opinion of not putting anymore money because of the lack of trust with ships. Actually the new Max ship that just was released for sale got a "rebalance" a day after, they nerfed fuel, speed, and power. Right after sales. And people are specifically angry on how it had plenty of time in PTU for "rebalance" nope they waited after it sold to do it. Again I'm putting this info for viewers and new players to know what they are getting themselves into. You want to justify pouring hundreds or thousands into ships just to get them nerfed and go buy another one, that's your opinion. But the fact is sales are down substantially and the forums says why. If this was not true why did CIG delete my comments and banned me till sales are over? Again you want to white knight this go for it but to argue for this and say it's ok for them to take ships that were spent hundreds of dollars on and not give a warning of the reality that they will be made useless for the next ship coming out is disingenuous. I've put this in about all the channels I watch and you are the only one arguing on how it's ok to take your money and change the design of something they sold you.viewers should have facts and be allowed to make theor own opinions on those facts.
Well, what if the armor bounced weapon fire from any size 4 gun or lower? We don't know how armored it is, of course, but armor is supposed to convey some immunity to some size class of weapons, and the 'turtle' has that name for a reason.
Glorified overpriced respawn point. No medical missions, rarely anyone sends out medical beacons (if so you'll be waiting 1hr for someone to send one out), no logout bed, no included medical equipment like in the Med C8R, near the same price as the Apollo, less utility and more pricey than the Cutlass Red. This ship is useless but yeah go waste your money on it if you want to Roleplay.
I’d say it’s not completely useless as it’s a super small ship with an extremely big healthpool and tier 2 medical bed. No other ships around this size have a tier 2 or the ability to take a hit.
The vitality skin reminds me a lot of the color scheme the "trauma team" in Cyberpunk has. :0
This is most likely intentional 😄
thats intentional yeah, they even use the same color for the armor in the mini trailer on their twitter. the people who work on the terrapin medical clearly love the trauma team

Otherwise, the vulture is a great little salvage ship that will get you some good money and the prospector is also fun. For being more on the fighting side, starting with the avenger titan and going up to the cutlass black and then choosing from there is a great start also.
What do you want to do in Star citizen?
@@EvenLease44 i have mainly been doing the bunker missions so far. I really enjoy the cargo/combat of the bunker missions
It’s a nice ship! I don’t know if i can justify its price compared to the C8R. Of course, it does have better shields etc.
The tier 2 med bed and massive healthpool while remaining a small ship is really awesome but I agree it should be nowhere near its current price.
Cutty Red is way better and has 2 medical beds, along with 2 bunk beds for crew, and on top of that, it has a co-pilot seat,... Plus you can fit a small 2 man STV by the back door. Not to be confused with STD.😉
I'm debating on pledging and upgrade to this one.
Its not at all a terrible choice.
For a mostly solo player it's great for bunkers and clear hostile forces missions. While it does have a little internal storage, you are able to load bodies into the back and return to a station and loot them there.
Close to a good Bunker Buster.
Thanks. For your prompt reply.
How about upgrading the shield to Rampant (5,460 hp)?
The ambulance turtle
A lot of Star citizen's ships look like animals actually
That's so true, a lot of them do!
Ship without a bed is a no go.
Imo only the starter and racing ships are excused not having one.
Got one, its a pretty lil thing.
Did you get to test fitting a Nox inside it or other gravbikes?
I like the paint preview. I think I am in the minority of liking the yellow the most. Reminds me of ambulances in my country.
The Pulse fits fine, others not so much.
Agreed that is super weird
I thought It's a big ship(look at cockpit)
and when I got close I saw it's smaller than Nomad
It's a very small ship with a surprisingly big healthpool.
@@EvenLease44 fits its name, after all terrapins have a quite tough shell.
I fell like we should officaly name the medical terrrapin - careapin
so the we have the nursa and the careapin
Shame it’s only viable as support for a larger craft. Not sure why you’d remove the log out bed facility 😢
Reminds me of transformers bayverse Ratchet
im concierge but this is my only ship rest I 'gifted'
Hey man. Didn't put on your medic colored outfit? 😁
Out of curiosity, what's the lowest reviewed ship so far?
The 100 series of ships, 600i, Santok Yai and a few others but those ones got some pretty low scores due to a score of issues.
I loveeeeee this ship bit it's so overpriced idk why this would be only be 30 bucks less than the apollo and the regular terrapin be more than the zeus es. I think 150 would be a better price point for both ships
Agreed its price is a bit high for what it is.
it should be tier 3 bed and 110$ because cutlas red is better in every aspect.. if they want - tier 3 should have cutlass red. and than something like medical zeus in range of 200$ to fill the gap between apollo
@@Marvin315 the medical terrapin has a much better healthpool than the red, is smaller, and has a better medical bed. But the Red is a great ship for its cost.
She needs another seat tbh, may be evacing if that's a word two people, only one who is hurt
❤
Why can't you log off in a medical bed? I personally do my best to sleep though all the RL regeneration and operations.
If only we knew why not?!
Hopefully you wont do a medical beacon and think I'll lock myself in the cockpit area while the person fixes themself up in the med bed, only to have them destroy most of your components and take your fuse. But that would never happen in SC.
That would be something
I think it should be faster with another seat and both seats should have seat belts or harnesses. Too sparse for a 2 person medical crew.
CIG please give me a multi-role Terrapin, I want one so bad
A nomad style terrapin would be so cool.

If it had some jump seats for other players to ride along with me id like it. But it doesnt so... i hate it
It has ONE jumpseat but that is it.
6/10
The price is just not warranted. Its cool looking and has a very niche use case but that price is off the rails....
Well, what if the armor bounced weapon fire from any size 4 gun or lower? We don't know how armored it is, of course, but armor is supposed to convey some immunity to some size class of weapons, and the 'turtle' has that name for a reason.
People need to stop with this "doctor or nurse" in the ship. No doctor or nurse is in an ambulance.
am I the only one who don't really give a shit about beds?
or am I missing something about them?
Glorified overpriced respawn point. No medical missions, rarely anyone sends out medical beacons (if so you'll be waiting 1hr for someone to send one out), no logout bed, no included medical equipment like in the Med C8R, near the same price as the Apollo, less utility and more pricey than the Cutlass Red. This ship is useless but yeah go waste your money on it if you want to Roleplay.
the whole game is role play
I’d say it’s not completely useless as it’s a super small ship with an extremely big healthpool and tier 2 medical bed. No other ships around this size have a tier 2 or the ability to take a hit.
From a pure "medical" point of view, this is a complete useless brick. But it's a nice "fantasy" ship.
