You are the man! Thank you very much, this was driving me nuts this morning... I did the auto-update from AverMedia's site, that was useless. Did a clean install of NVidia drivers on both machines (capture and captured), no luck. This totally worked... Thank you!
Appreciate the tip my dude! The version numbers may have changed since June but I had a Windows Update wreck my capture audio and directing me to update the driver via the Avermedia website fixed the issue. I appreciate the help and keep grinding! Great Video.
Thanks m8. It didn't update when doing the first install and had this audio problem. Following your guide I successfully update driver/firmware and now no audio issue.
I know this video is almost a year old, however I was having problems with my Avermedia card suddenly giving me horrendous audio. After watching this and checking on some new firmware/drivers it's working perfectly now. Thanks!
dude thank you so much for this, for some reason on my streaming pc i have only gotten the win10 2004 and it fecked everything last night. Ever since switching to Avermedia I really think i have made a mistake. there customer support is totally lacking and then they just stop talking to you and their website is all a bit of a mess on the support side and as you just said their support twitter its pointing people in the wrong direction. its like the left hand does not know that the right hand is doing. But great video thanks for the help :)
I have a problem with mine since when I bought it, it does not appear on the PC, when I take it out of the slot and restart the PC, it is recognized, but after a while it disappears, and when the PC restarts, it just flashes red and it is not recognized by my PC.
I would make sure that your mother boards bios is uptoday, I would also try and switch its slots with the gpu as it could just be an issue with the slot itself. I say slot but i mean where you put it in the mother board. if the GPU works in either slot and the avermedia doesnt and you have updated the drivers from the website and not that driver asist pile of shite, the the unit in my eyes is to blame. Get refund or new unit.
Well, that fixed my problem with the stuttering (AVermedia Live Gamer Extreme - GC550). I installed the newest driver which is shared with the AVermedia Live Gamer Extreme 2 (GC551) and got the extra sidenote "Description:1.Fix the audio problem on Windows 10 2004 version.(The driver has shared with the device Live Gamer Extreme2 GC551)". Now I can't grab RECentral 4 fullscreen any longer with OBS. It just shows a black screen in OBS. RECentral 4 is working perfectly though and I get the signal from my PS4 right away, windowed and fullscreen. Same goes for OBS with RECentral 4 in window mode but as soon as I switch to fullscreen OBS is just showing a black screen. Running RECentral 4 as admin and/or in any compatibility mode won't solve the problem :/
Hello I need your help! My game capture isn’t showing up in the advance audio properties in OBS for me to change it to “monitor and output”, so I can hear the game audio
I can't get this card to capture 5.1 at all. Even avermedia tech support couldn't figure it out. I'm on the 8/4/20 driver, which is after this video release.
Hello metagamers, I just tried this method and now I'm getting a different type of stutter. Curse this windows update lol. Do you have any advice on what I should do? Have a great day.
I believe there is a new update file that you can now download directly from AVerMedia that is out of beta. Might check that out and if you still have issues reach out to their support.

If it’s been like that since you bought it I would contact AVermedia
