- Before we move on to power weapons, ranking all the special weapons together was a highly requested video, so I decided to make one before we do machine guns!

@@TrainerCameron I consider supremacy to be a dps sniper and succession to be a major buster. Since snipers arent really a go to dps weapon i give the win to succession

I love the list and content you’ve been putting out. You truly deserve the come up. I think you’re too focused on the void 3.0 perks on hollow denial. Lead from gold make the weapon a far better replacement for a primary than you give it credit for, especially since this is an end game tier list and you’re much more likely to run out of ammo with the other far higher placed traces in this list if you try to bring them into a master raid or grandmaster.
Lead from Gold is fine but that's still not enough to push it over the traces above it
I mean you can just use cenotaph and the other traces and use heavy xD

An idea for a future video might be damage strategies for every raid boss. I know the spreadsheet has suggestions for speedrunning, but it would be nice to recommend something to the average joe in the average LFG that is not thunderlord.

Sword breaker had a place in this seasons meta by being strand which will enable Monochromatic maestro for strand titan melee DPS. Mono got fixed tonwork with strand recently!

Great video once again, actually surprised that u as a speedrunner give glaives so much credit. I actually use glaives from time to time in solo gms if unstop glaive is a thing but for me not a single glaive would make it into B-Tier. I basically never use them in other endgame activities.
Before I became a speedrunner I played pretty much all the endgame content there is (lowmans, contest, GMs, SF dungeons, etc.) so I have an appreciation for the different aspects of what people choose to do once they've grinded everything out, I'm lucky enough to still be in touch with a lot of my friends that do still participate in a lot of that content as well :D
Just a random observation: it's funny how Hollow Denial's usefulness is so tied to Volatile Rounds. In S20 we had Volatile Flow from Orbs of Power, and so you could just splash Hollow Denial into any build and suddenly you're getting an overshield on almost every kill with a borderline infinite-ammo trace that also does a bunch of AOE damage, making it easily the best trace rifle unless you specifically need Shoot to Loot. When that's not there, it suddenly becomes really niche--basically need Gyrfalcon to take full advantage of it, or maybe a really good Void grenade build.
voidlock on contraverse is def my fav build and i use hollow denial with echo of instability
Contraverse used to be my favourite for voidlock but now I'm having a ton of fun with the new voidlock gauntlets from this season

could be interesting to get multiple content creators to rank weapons like this and then take a overall average rank for each weapon, get an idea for what the community as a whole rates these weapons and hopefully remove some of the bias from each individual's ranking. would also be interesting to see pve Vs PvP opinions

Prodigal Return would be amazing if voltshot applied jolt to everything the voltshot chained to, but you often end up 1 shotting whatever you shoot so you can't abuse the jolt bursts like you can with path of least resistance. Prodigal with voltshot is a lot of fun in content where the jolt surges actually kill things, regular difficulty raids, standard strikes, etc.

In the current meta glaives are highly underrated, with a mix or great survivablility and good overall boss damage a glaive is always a great choice. whenever im running my lfg strikes I always get top score with my triton hunter build. It really destroyed first encounter of crota of day2 (day1 was too hard)
To add to what you've said, since most glaives are legendary they open up your heavy slot for thunderlord which makes for a deadly combination

I'm going to make the same comment as in the fusion list about Nox Perennial vs Eremite:
If my goal is to dump all my energy special ammo at a boss because I've blown through all my rockets or whatever (which seems to be the best-case scenario for Controlled Burst--if doing a swap rotation, why pick a fusion?), there's an extremely obvious better alternative in Merciless.
If my goal is to dump all my kinetic special ammo at a boss instead, I don't think there's nearly as obvious a 1:1 replacement. Forerunner maybe? Supremacy? A shotgun?
Pound-for-pound Eremite is the better gun (entirely because of solar heavies being king rn), but because the competition in slot is so stiff, I'm not actually sure I'd rank it higher.

Out of curiosity, I know the weapon damage modifiers got removed but Voltshot still seems like an interesting inclusion on some otherwise mundane weapons (Sole Survivor SR, Unexpected Resurgence GV, etc). Do you think proccing Jolt on a boss with them to start a swap/B&S rotation is a non-starter? Or just overlooked/underrated?
I would imagine that the time it takes to get a kill,reload and then apply jolt would not be worth it dps wise compared to using a good special with frenzy or vorpal. Maybe if you could get the kill and reload before the dps phase begins.
Also if anyone else is using gathering storm or another source of jolt it would be pointless for you to have a weapon with jolt.
Jolt is worth about 5k dps according to the spreadsheet. By way of comparison, holding down left click on Divinity with Cenotaph is almost 29k, and that's the weakest gun on the entire "Single" tab. Even if it were good dps, you could also get it from something like Gathering Storm or a grenade.
Voltshot's basically only good on primaries and POLR these days, and not for boss DPS reasons. (It's super nice for wave clear and overload stuns, though.)
@@joshuaandrachek492 Yeah, I would never try to proc Voltshot and apply it mid-phase, I would only use it pre-loaded before the phase begins, similar to Golden Gun.
A few people already answered, but also keep in mind you would be better off just throwing a grenade to proc jolt rather than setting up voltshot as well.
@@Gage-tp9ix Ideally, yes, but in low-man content or if you've an abundance of Solar/Strand/Void, I could easily see a world where there just isn't a source of Jolt already present.

Personally I’m a big fan of the Shepard watch with genesis/sympathetic arsenal. It absolutely melts redbars in strikes and can two body dregs in gambit.

The demo/osmo SUCC was so good for lost sector burns before they added overcharge weapons for every single anti-champ mod.

not the first to say this but I really think it's more important that a weapon serves a (at least fairly common) role notably well than having a versatile perk pool; ex. I'd value having the best pair for tractor swapping (comedian) over having another one of five shotguns that's just Pretty Good at both dps & major killing

Honestly, anything in C and D I feel frees up those weapons to be crafted/kept with more fun/experimental roles.
So an arguments I would pose in favor of wastelander and swordbreaker maybe being bumped up a tad still within the A tier is lightweights are just the best shotgun for one-two punch builds because of the movement bonus. You aren't getting damage from the shotgun, so that doesn't matter as much as with other weapons, and with builds like AC hunter or a syntho/banner of war titan being reliant on being very mobile, you'll just want to have the shotgun out most of the time. Plus swordbreaker and wastlander have passive reload perks which just makes for better up time. But yeah, they're solidly A tier
i think rapids are better slightly cus they get crazy amounts of ammo and u can proc 1-2 punch more often
@@max73916 That would be beneficial if you needed to proc 1-2 punch a ton, but tbh you really aren't using it a ton. I don't tend to ever run out of ammo with lightweights. I think rapids are probably the next best option for 1-2 punch shotty's because of the higher handling but lightweights just kind of win for passive bonuses and consistency

This is going to be a bit off topic for the video but I have recently been really redoing the dps maths on lament and stumbled across a combo that I really haven't seen anyone else talk about. Which is the 2x1x0, this does superior dps and total dmg compared to the more common 3x1x2, 2x1x1 and 2x1x2 combos. I would love a video going over lament again, as I don't think this is a commonly known combo (in fact I am not even sure this was a possible combo before the sword changes). The combo is literally just (start with 3x1) then looping 2x1x0 with 3 lucent blades. There is 0 manual delaying and is an auto times combo and I really do think it is the most optimal lament combo. (though lament probably isn't the best sword even with this new combo.)
The period you have to wait to do 2L you may as well fill with a regular light
just FYI, Lament was special-cased and left unchanged by the sword guard rework

I think supremacy should only be s tier just because kinetic slot options for special weapons are abysmal, it has enhanced kinetic tremors which is arguably the best perk on a sniper in terms of damage and versatility and ease of use, is a rapid fire frame, lead from gold for essentially infinite ammo, as well as the benefit of extra damage for being a kinetic weapon. I'd say riptide was S before the chill clip nerf but now chill clip is essentially a useless perk on everything except riptide. spike/disorienting grenades wilderflight with autoloading frenzy should also be S tier as if it is a blinding gl it still does normal if not higher gl damage on direct impact so you have no blinding nade downside or with spike nades it just is just a monster.
So...I know you put some weapons high up for utility for speedrunning and killing ads quickly and all but...If you need someone on tractor cannon, what would you recommend is the best special DPS you can bring to the table, and with what roll? I've still been rocking a old fusion rifle roll that used to be pretty good at the time, but I never stopped to think about updating it to something different and more recent, so I wanted to see what you recommend the most.
Two pellet shotguns and something like Rain of Fire or The Dragon's Shadow
Honestly the only problem I have with this list is succession, probably just my bias but I think it deserves mid to high A tier

Thoughts on mixing aggrasive and lightweight for shotgun swapping? I do not have a good aggressive in the energy slot for gally switching with ROF and do not know if it is better to just go full lightweight or mix and match the two frames

I have the Militia gl, with ambitious assassin, frensie and field tested. Blast radius as the weapon mod. Kinda stupid powerful to clear ads and not only!

Can someone elaborate on why GL's and trace rifles tend so high in this list? I've never used a trace rifle (excep maybe agres or the navigator) in high end content.
I can understand Iterative Loop not being in A but it 100% deserves B-Tier. Being able to put voltshot on any target that doesn't die the the initial burst is a nice add-on when not on an Arc Subclass and Nano Rockets does help dps a fair amount. Just because Voltshot on fusions got gutted doesn't mean the whole thing is garbage

Might it be possible to do a boss dps tier list for specials? Glaives, adaptive snipers, precision shotties, etc wouldn't even need to be considered. Stuff like that could automatically be eliminated because why talk about something for boss dps that would never be considered? Easily half of the weapons on this list wouldn't need to be tiered at all. Just the meat and bones of damage. I guess the idea would be someone could easily look to see what is viable for boss damage from a quick look. Real simple like and unconfusing. I understand that weapon A is good for general use but not really a dps choice. That kind of mentality is what I mean but no matter what the case, your content is fantastic for any level of guardian and I appreciate all that you do 👍

@@TheAegisRelic that's fair, I do reference this routinely. My biggest problem with that spreadsheet is only having access to half of those weapons and looking for alternatives can get confusing. Without remorse being one where I've been running presage numerous times since it's release but still not being close to crafting it because there's so many weapons in presages loot pool. Riiswalker has been annoying and sojourners.... I mostly did dares last week and never got an optimal roll. The week prior for tumulus was pure agony, I only saw 2. I'm talking a ton of dares too ... and yes I understand bad luck is a thing but it's truly been a struggle. A few dozen focused empty vessels and not one truly viable. Stuff like this is making me look for alternatives and that's where I'm at. That's why a dps tier list sounded good to me. Funny enough I got a god roll dead weight first engram focus lol. I played D1, started D2 and quit. When the game was free I picked it up again so I'm still playing catch-up a lot. I know not everyone is there but some weapons are such a pain. Again thank you for the response and imma keep referencing that spreadsheet for dear life lol 😂
What role do shotguns like dead weight, ikelos, and imperial decree have if not for pellet swapping or one-two punch? Also why are rapids best for one-two punch?
The first two are great for bursting majors or doing boss DPS, they really just do everything
Imperial isn't used for swapping or 12P so...
Rapids have highest reserves of all shotguns so highest melee count
Hollowed Denial with LFG/Repulsor on Void Warlock or Gyrfalcon’s Hunter is very sexy, those use cases alone should put it in at least B

Honestly I’d argue it’s not niche at all, extremely good ammo econ and strong ad-clear. It’s no forbearance ofc but it definitely has a place

I would like to know where Braytech Osprey is on the DPS list, just because it has envious and bipod, which Aegis did say bipod isn’t far behind from BnS, love to see where it stands
bipod itself is fine, what isnt fine is the archetype. braytech is high impact which deal 15% less dmg than the current meta wpn (apex) or even hothead
It's a high-impact so it's not worth using (-10% against adap/agg)

As a returning player who wants to catch up and participate in low man endgame content I have been wondering what I should use my 6 deep sight harmonizers on. I basically have no patterns yet (I have apex pred but that’s about the only useful pattern I have so far)
Should I use it on a craftable shotgun like ikelos or is there a GL, sniper, trace, sniper, or fusion I should go for?
Also in regards to legend specials I have started farming for the onslaught forbearance, succession, and mountaintop.
I don't think there's anything that's absolutely essential you use your harmonizers on that you can't currently farm, so use it to top off progress on stuff that's annoying to farm
Question, if I’m trying to optimize my tractor dps id use aggressives right? Which ones should I use and what perks should I seek. I am currently using a vorpal found Ver and imp dec. with surrounded. Also Is it better to use double slug surrounded weapons or double aggressive surrounded when I can get it to proc for swaps?
You'd use Ragnhild / Comedian with Frenzy / Vorpal and 123 swap (and you want aggressives either way)

Wait why are rapid fire shotguns so high? I thought pellet swapping consisted of lightweights for damage rotations, and aggressives for support rotation?
Rapids are good for boss DPS, great for roam, and excellent for major burst

When trace rifles are chosen, Shoot to Loot is almost a necessary perk given how they are used in most endgame content
