  • As of at least July 2023, the Beretta PX4 Storm Sub Compact Has Been Discontinued. This was confirmed directly from Beretta. As of now, no plans for future production.
Of note - the Sub Compact model is still listed on Beretta’s website - but again - Beretta USA told me, in writing, that it was discontinued. They will continue to offer support for that model for up to ten years depending on parts comparability.
A close Up Look At That Awesome Gun You Should Either Hang On To Or Try To Find.
Also - I believe all other models in the PX4 family are still in production. At least I sure hope so!! (:
Thank you so much for checking out my channel. Please like and subscribe - and tell your friends !!
CORRECTION - please see my follow up video below on proper takedown procedure - do NOT remove the takedown lever like I did.

    I recently got a subcompact in .40.
It was just a good deal because of the unpopular caliber. I really like it.
I've loved px4s since my dad got a full sized 9mm back in 05. I now own 2 full sized and my new to me sub compact. The subcompact is an absolute little bulldog of a gun. I love how short it is, yet it's built like a tank. These new micro compacts just don't instill the same level of confidence as the old school sub compacts. they are duty guns that were basically just sawn down to the smallest possible size. They are a little thick, but that's what makes them a little more reliable and better shooting.

I did the same drill. Picked up a used full size PX4 in .40. Was so impressed I bought a full size in .45, 9mm. a compact in 9mm (my favorite) and then searched out a Sub Compact in 9mm.

I’ve had mine since 2008 in 40. Along with the full and compact in 40. My first pistol was the full size in 2006. I wanted the external safety/ decocker, and needed the small back straps for my hand size. After training with them for a couple months I swapped the mag release buttons to the “left hand” shooter side as I use my right hand middle finger to drop mags. These are great great guns that have served me well for many years. The only thing that some people “think” is a problem is it’s looks. “Star Wars or buck rogers” laser gun I’ve been told. Whatever, but they shoot very well, very reliable with maybe 1-2 load fails at the range during my years with these guns. I will say I’ve moved to the Sig Macro 6 weeks ago due to less and less support for the PX4 line. Support as in accessories.

I'm not enamored with safeties/hammer-drops on slides. I've had a P-38 and an old heal-magazine-release Beretta 92, and really disliked the placement of these features. Then there is the swipe-up to fire issue. But I am a DA/SA fan, so a PX4 Storm has been a consideration. Sad to hear the sub-compact has been discontinued.

If you have one of these keep it. I have one and will admit it is a stumpy, chunky fugly little thing. It shoots well if you practice. I just got four 20 round mags for it. The bigger mags give the gun more balance, and make it look not so goofy. I bought the original Baretta mags made for the big brother, but they all four ran flawlessly. I tested them yesterday.

I just bought one used for $275 in 9mm. Hardly used. Love it, but double action trigger is way too long. Put 200 rds of cheap ammo thru it and ate it all. Soft shooter. Accurate. Take down is a bit cumbersome with the pull out pin, but all in all it's awesome and CCW go to now for me over my Glock 26.

@@williamflowers9435 The grip on PX4 is slightly longer. It does come with 3 back straps. The rear of the frame where the safety/decocker is a tad thicker than the 26. SA trigger pull is smooth. Reset is a bit longer that the 26.

Just a couple of things to add: I went ahead and bought the 17-round magazine and the adapter to fill in the extra gap. Feels MUCH better in my hand.
Even though it's short, they do make a laser sight or a flashlight for the accessory rail.
Also, I have a different set of Talon Grips that are actually fit to that gun. I recommend switching yours out.

Bro. First. You don’t pull the slide all the way back.. it’s like quarter inch. Second… you don’t pull the locking pin all the way out. It has a slight click. You can fly springs if you do that and then end up at the gun smith. What… the heck. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. You slide it back a bit and then release the locking pin counter clockwise and pull till it clicks. Never… ever pull your locking pin all the way out. Ever. You’re welcome. Hard to watch this but you’ll be ok. I’ve had my px4 sub for ten years now. Put over 5k rounds through her. Runs great still. But never pull the pin out. Ever.

First shot was good but subsequent shots were all over the place due to the muzzle rise...eventually plan on selling.
