I went to go and do my reluctor rings the other week. I'd recommend having a good look at the drive shaft nuts (wheel end). Mine are mega corroded, holding off awaiting new nuts till I attack again!
Just had the exact thing happen to mine.....with the same previous ABS flicking on and off randomly..!! At least I can tell the garage what it might be.....under £400 I can do so fingers crossed 🤞
It's very unfortunate, but I am going to have to sell my 116i, although I had a good 4 months with it, the misfire is getting out of control and happening in every trip whilst driving, just had a flashing check engine light the other day so it appears to be getting worse. Looking to go Japanese maybe a Honda Civic
Had this just happen to me right now on the motorway. Though I also got a tyre low pressure light too. Put hazard lights on, did 30 until the junction came (was less than a mile and I knew there was a petrol station there). All 4 tyres with 30+ psi. Driving out the garage, the lights went out? I thought it would be a speed sensor issue
@@lucaseveri127 yeah I replaced the ABS rings and sensors. Bit of a tricky job to do. But as long as you haven't got any actual issues, I'd just turn off traction control until you fix it. A few months later this actually happened again (after I wrote this comment). So yeah it's pretty intermittent. It's likely just rusted rings being uneven which damages the sensors. Best to replace both
I had my reluctor rings replaced and new sensors 2 years / 4000 (four thousand) miles ago and the problem has came back. TC light flashes on left bends and sometimes in a straight line. Do you think it would be reasonable to think two years later after a Indy done the work it has corroded again ?
Because bmw is very light behind and if its no light on dasboard you shoult not woory. And check you tires too and I have the car too and mine car too fell like the same.
My 59 plate 120d now has this issue, but thanks to your info I know what the problem is,well explained, thanks!

Have the exact pair of issues as you. Did you sort it and remember what the issue was?

Thanks for the video! Seeing this on my E81 intermittently. Is the ABS still active when the light is lit up?
fortunately I've never had to try so I have no idea 😂 just bear in mind that it may not and leave mor distance than you usually would :)
You never did the repair video, did you? I can't seem to find it.

Hey. Just had this issue on my E90. Same fix?
Yes mate, exactly the same :)
DriveLife for £700 I think I can live with turning the traction control off 😂
True 🤣🤣 if you are mechanically inclined you could probs fix it for around £50 :)
