Just a reminder that the game was changed literally because EA's focus group of 12 year olds thought the game was too childish. I am not making this up. The game wasn't even supposed to be anywhere near a 12+ minimum age limit.

When the game was called Overstrike it was going to about 4 special operatives who are all sort of quirky and funny and it looked kind of interesting and sort of a laid back, fun experience to have with friends.
Then EA cried that it wasn't grim dark and serious enough so they rewrote all the characters into being psychopaths, jaded dickwheels and assholes and took away any sense of humour the game had.
Seriously, look up the Overstrike trailer and then the Fuse trailer. One of them looks like it would have been a good game if EA hadn't then vacated their casual pandering bowels all over it.

That's not what happened, it was play testers who complained the game wasn't dark enough and insomniac listened to them. Some of these people were 12 years old.

To be fair, except Joker, the rest of the human cast are much less interesting than the alien characters. I think I took Garrus with me 90% of the time.
This guy is just hilarious. To be honest I don't know what it is but he is the only youtuber that makes me so enjoyed with his work that I piss myself laughing and be encouraged to click the like button.
yahtzee's use of the phrase "most retarded spectacle in the history of warfare" makes me wonder if he knows about that one time when australia lost a war to the god damned emu's. but then again i wasn't there so who knows.

Joseph Corridon apparently australia had a war with the emu's and lost. you can look it up on wikipedia, and cracked has it in an article on dumb wars somewhere.
...and if you dont know, the emu is sort of like an ostrich from what i know.

Who would want to sound like a cynical, brutally incompetent twonk who doesn't seem to actually PLAY some of the games he reviews? As a game reviewer, he's a tad crap.
InfernapeRevolution You know, I'm guilty of that too, but only in accent and tone, not so much the wording. As one of his fans commented during a web interview between him and Escapist staff, "Yahtzee, stop making me hear my every condescending thought in your voice." There's two things I do when I try to make someone feel like an idiot; one of them is stare at them emotionlessly and wait for them to hopefully make up for the lack of my own correcting them, and back in the depths of my mind I narrate every insult that comes to mind in an English accent. I don't feel smarter, but it sure does make me feel better.
***** A critic is not just one who criticizes, it's nearly synonymous with reviewer. It CAN just mean someone who expresses unfavorable opinions, but seeing as Yahtzee also points out what a game does well, the definition of "critic" applicable to his job is "a person who judges the merits of literary, artistic, or musical works, especially one who does so professionally." This seems to a common misconception with people in Yahtzee's comment section. Not to mention the fact that in the description of most of his videos, it says "Zero Punctuation REVIEWS ______" As for the original comment, once you've been watching a lot of Yahtzee's videos, you sort of naturally start thinking in the same sort of tone as him, it's not just people "trying to sound smart."

I was feeling bored and came on youtube to look for some novelty and found zero punctuation. Since that fateful moment my boredom has vanished and has been replaced by non-stop hilarity ! For this I say thank you !

See, this is why Insomniac should've never made a multiplat game. Either get a better publisher who doesn't control every aspect of the development process, or stick to what you're used to and let Sony buy you.

Pretty confident in saying that 3:51 to 3:59 is a reference to a quote from Captain Picard of Star Trek: The Next Generation: "He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt, it was really quite hypnotic". The sentence structure is nearly identical to Picard's quote albeit shifted around slightly, and there's no other reason he'd talk about 'run-on sentences' there when he was talking about mob respawns.
I simply cannot get over this. After watching a video in which Yahtzee speaks, every single thing I read comes out in his voice! Not just that, but all the comments on these videos are either critic-like where he'd be serious or ludicrously bonkers, in which case he'd be being snarky and sarcastic.
And now I'm doing it!

This is one of the funniest episodes of Zero Punctuation I've ever seen.

see... And the original E3 Overstrike trailer got me excited, because each character ACTUALLY SEEMED unique and interesting. Both in gameplay and in personality... to find this out is upsetting.
By the end of this video I couldn't stop laughing.
The best thing about this is the two women characters, Jennifer Hale voices "Daddy Issues" (The voice of also Female Commander Shepard) and Ali Hillis who voices the ginger. (She played Liara in Mass effect alongside Hale.)

I guess I must not be the only one who doesn't get any of Yahtzee's references until they look up the thing in question, because I notice that every time he makes a reference to another game he's reviewed and doesn't explain it that video comes up in the "up next" slot.
I love how people keep requesting that he review certain games, as if they actually think he'll listen.

Hey escapist I have a game to recomend Don't starve or don't starve together which are simmilar to two versions but are rather different in Don't starve together boss health is upped the reason is multiplayer which i would say to play together since the plain version makes you unlock most characters. The games are survivial "horror" it's 2D with a unique style, i like the games personally but would like your opinion.
Edit: I forgot it isn't story heavy and you might need some help in either game because you need to know quite a bit to survive also the difficulty is rather high.
