After driving in R mode, the car behaves much more as expected. Far more responsive. Standard mode is a bit lethargic but probably a smart decision for the average daily driving.

I own a Silver 2011 GTR (currently makes 950 WHP, and a 1992 White Nissan Skyline GTR (R32) that makes about 680 WHP. The R35 and my R32 puts a pure smile on my face because these cars are straight up for performance. I also own a Model Y and people think that EV performance is insane, try driving a 950 WHP GTR that starts to make full boost at 3500 RPM all the way to 7500 RPM, so the power curve is INSANE!!
I'm one of those people who think that the GTR is still perfectly fine, this car isn't meant for your average joe who wants all this fancy technology, it's more geared towards hardcore drivers who want max performance.

YES!!! 💯💯💯- So YES you're gonna get emoji'd because words fail at simple truths!
Beware the electric, hydrogenated exhaust rape which certain persons intend to inflict on those who like to drive through the all the local roads blocked becuase of "Covid". Also beware of those who are still getting boosters...
To men of fine culture, like myself, a car lacking remote administration will always command a premium we will pay.
So yeah, the interior is dated 👍 the tech is outdated 👍 the car lets ME drive it 👍👍👍 No Google\Alexa..etc..
It's a legend its haters will miss in their dotage...unless manufacturers make modern evolutions which WE can drive.
Now who's seriously willing to hold their breath until that happens?
Respect Godzilla, it's a fantasy myth all incarnations of the GT-R embody. Warts and all.
Buy & Hold a Nismo and a stock for less than certain 'investments', then get out there and DRIVE them...

Fast & Furious only made it mainstream. JDM had a huge following way before that.

I’m convinced Nissan has become so broke from low sales of their normal cars that it’s the reason why they haven’t made an R36 yet and why the new Z isn’t so great. They can’t afford good R&D for now. They’ve lost a lot of money. Hopefully the next Murano (which there are spy shots of) ditches the JATCO CVT. And that the new QX80 and Armada are genuinely good offers. They’re making a tiny bit of a comeback with the new Pathfinder ditching the CVT, so they still have a chance if they keep going like that.

Funny, how Ppl jus Dog the GT-R. Calling it so Old when Nissan has been making updates every couple years like everybody else. Why mess with success. Since the 60's the GT-R Never lost a race and it beat by a long shot. When it first came to the States it was already a 2sec car and Still is.. Idk what Ppl want in a car anymore. It's gotta be a computer overload, below $50k with 900hp & 1000lbs TQ, 0-60 2.0s.. As much as i drove the GT-R i will still pick it over a 911, Vette & everything above it. And the 911 is jus as Old as the GT-R. It's jus a bunch of window dressing on top of Shiny parts. lol..

No, the Hellcat is & has been since 2015. Less money, more power, nuff said. The original Skyline was an affordable car & even when THIS GTR first came out in the U.S. it was only about a $70,000 car, then for some unexplained reason, a couple years later, it went for over $100,000, so no, it doesn't compare to a Hellcat.

And to correct you, the R34 was dominant in JGTC / Super GT as well as Super Taikyu. The street legal versions also held their own pretty well against other GT and Normal sports coupes of the era like the M3, Supra, 3000GT, and so forth. It is overrated, but it is a VERY potent car. That's why Australians use them for drag racing constantly and that's why Japanese companies like Mines, MCR, Top Secret, Blitz, Garage Mak, and SO MANY others preferred those verses R32s.
