Angela you got the exact meaning of this song This song uses Old West cowboy imagery to describe the lonely life of a rock star. At the time, starting with their debut album in 1984, Bon Jovi played about 300 shows a year, using the remaining time to work on albums. When it came time to write for their third album, Slippery When Wet, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora wrote this song about what they knew: performing to lots of people who all blended together after a while.
So glad you enjoyed it. My first concert when I was just 15 was Bon Jovi opening up for Ratt at the Philadelphia Spectrum in the mid 80s. Nothing compares to hair bands of that time. Rock on sweetie 🤘
Your channel just popped on my feed, and I'm so glad I clicked! I LOVE that you save your analysis for after the song, and just let the music play. You have great insight, a clear love of music, and a great personality. You've got a new subscriber!
HELLO !! BON JOVI IT’S ONE OF THE POPULAR ROCK BAND SINCE 80’.GREATS HITS, PERFECT VOICE FOR THE RADIO, LISTEN ’’LIVING ON A PRAYER ’’,’’YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME ’’,BAD MÉDECINE ’’,’’ LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME ’’,’’BED OF ROSES ’’,’’I’LL BE THERE FOR YOU ’’,’’LIVING IN SIN ’’,’’ALWAYS ’’,’’BORN TO BE MY BABY ’’,’’NEVER SAY GOODBYE ’’WALK LIKE A MAN ’’,’’
Honest talk: I was never a fan of 80’s hair bands, or this genre of rock, but this song did catch my attention when it came out, and I liked it. There’s a layer of depth and truth in it, and the singing and playing was excellent. Well done, Bon Jovi. You made me like you.
Angela, I was fortunate to see them six times between 1866-1995. Six of the best shows I’ve ever seen. They were in their prime and sounded amazing. It was a great time for music and seeing live shows.
It's funny that you brought up the song "Blaze of Glory" because that song was from the soundtrack for the movie "Young Guns II". The film makers asked Bon Jovi if they could use "Wanted Dead or Alive" for the soundtrack but Jon told them he'd rather write a new song for it and came up with "Blaze of Glory".
Back in the mid-to-late 80's the girls were crazy for Bon Jovi, and Jon in particular. All of the girls I hung out with in high school were crazy for him. One such friend called him her husband. lol And so the song to me is speaking of how it is being a rock star.
This song changed a lot of people's minds on Bon Jovi back on the day. They went from typical good time glam rock band to being able to craft creatively introspective rock. I loved the Western imagery combined with the then modern rock. A year later, Poison would also mimic Bon Jovi with their song "Every Rose has it's Thorn." I remember guys quoting that song when signing Yearbooks thinking it would make them look cool and sensitive. 😂
Jon Bon Jovi…solo project. Jon played it with the band after the fact, but it was originally done with different musicians and backup vocals. Jeff Beck was epic on guitar.
You like your ballads so you gotta do bon jovi songs I'll be there for you She don't know me Never say goodbye Wild is the wind Shot through the heart Born to be my baby
Even though Jon Bon Jovi has a great voice he has a lot of respect for another singer that he even nicknamed the Voice and that singer is Steve Perry from Journey.
I do like this song because I believe they wrote it wanting to portray the struggles and challenges of being a rock and rolll performer, or any kind of entertainer! It's a similar message to Bob Segers' song Turn The Page and Journey's Faithfully! I wouldn't want to be any kind of performer or entertainer because people can take your soul and destroy you if you let them! Bye! I wanted to also include the song The Load by Jackson Browne that has a similar theme! Listen to the full version that's over 9 min long! Goodbye!
Just subscribed! Blaze Of Glory is my fav, which you mentioned. It was written by Jon for the movie Young Guns 2. Jon also performs it with the band, but the official track or video is the only way to hear it with Jeff Beck, and the most incredible guitar solo ever. Not sure if you shown it on your channel, but here’s the link. ruclips.net/video/MfmYCM4CS8o/видео.htmlsi=z8E6su1b5IpmDG8P
Great react. If YOU WANT AMAZING AMAZING FOOTAGE. VIEW "BAD MEDICINE". OFFICIAL VIDEO...BON JOVI.... ITS EPIC. ITS THE VERY FIRST RUclips FAN MADE VIDEO. DECADES BEFORE THE CELL PHONE. IS. EPIC.... MUST MUST SEE....
A guilty pleasure is something you feel guilt or shame about for liking. Seems like an unnecessary kinda dumb insult. The music and styles of your generation give me no pleasure at all to be honest.
Bon Jovi's got such a great voice no matter what volume he chooses to sing at!

Great reaction, Ang!! For my money this is the best Bon Jovi song!!

One of the greatest lines. I’ve seen a million faces, and I’ve rocked them all.

You've got to hear the unplugged version of this. Just Jon, Richie and 2 guitars. Unbelievable.
Song was in Harley Davidson and Marlboro Man and Young Guns, seen them live in concert, young cats they were 🤘😆🤘🎤🎸
Life of a band on tour. This is considered the band's anthem and its amazing! Just and FYI, Blaze of Glory is Jon Bon Jovi solo, not the band Bon Jovi
Angela, what a brilliant analysis of the song.
So glad I watched this
❤❤
Before 1996 everything was pure talent no auto tune garbage
Great guitar solo. Richie Sambora hits those pinch harmonics and that guitar screams.

Wonderful reaction to one of the best bands ever. Bed of Roses is a story of his life on the road and its difficulties as well.
Great track, vocally and musically.

Wow! You missed out!
1989 MTV VMAs. Jon & Richie did an acoustic "living on a prayer/wanted dead or alive. Must check out
I was in 11th grade when this dropped and they toured. Unreal! Also saw the Joshua tree tour :)
You really got it, Angela. Well done👏
That was a great breakdown. I just found you in the algorithm and that's because I'm dipping into this type of music to learn more. I subscribe.❤

They sure qualify by your criteria but could really play, I saw them a couple times and have much respect for those guys. Great song! 🔥🎵🎸🎤🎸🎹🎶🔥

Blaze of Glory is another great one by Bon Jovi ....
Jon Bon Jovi…solo project. Jon played it with the band after the fact, but it was originally done with different musicians and backup vocals. Jeff Beck was epic on guitar.

Hard to believe you didn't know this one. It's their best , in my opinion.
Bless you.
This song is for the movie young guns
You need to listen to some of his ballads I'LL be there you or a bed of roses
Bon Jovi --Blood on Blood or Roulette

THIS IS GOOD ! BUT THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG IS THE ONE THEY DID IN RUSSIA ! IT'S AWESOME !
I always thought the steel horse was a motorcycle. Definitely has “Turn The Page” vibes.
Jon explained that once in front of Detroit crowd, turn the page was motivation for wanted dead or alive
Awesome song!!
This is the other side of the same coin to Bob Segar's "Turn the Page"!
Great song and Band.
A cool song, for sure. Maybe their best. In my eyes, anyway.
On of the great road songs...like Bob Segar's Turn the Page.
Seen them live in Springfield... never seen so many bra/panty thrown at the stage
❤❤❤❤❤
Next up: "Bed of Roses"
You call that a sneeze?..😎
