I've seen Bon Jovi in concert 5 times and they sound exactly the same.... they are awesome to watch live!!!! And they're still around touring... since about 1983-84ish
Bon Jovi just became the first artists to have three singles that were released in three different decades to reach over a billion views each on the same channel. Not counting views from alternate uploads of the songs: It's My Life (2000), Livin' on a Prayer (1986), Always (1994). All three were released before YT's existence.
There's a reason everyone knows his name. They're an incredible band with incredible songs. I saw them during their New Jersey tour in a small city in Wyoming. Small venue (only about 15K), but they performed like they were in front of 100,000. Amazing show. Consummate entertainers. Legend.
Bon Jovi is 80s music for me! They helped define what music became in the 80s. From arena rock anthems like Livin On A Prayer, to the monster ballads like this song or I'll Be There For You. Slippery When Wet album is fire from front to back, and so is New Jersey. Young Guns II Soundtrack (Jon goes solo for this one) is also a must album for anyone who wants to hear some of Jon's best work. Also, you can't only give credit to Jon, without Ritchie Sambora, you don't have Bon Jovi, his writing and background vocals along with his guitar playing were complimentary to Jon's lead.
You just listened to Bon Jovi's anthem! Amazing song! That incredible guitarist is Richie Sambora. Jon and Richie were a magical duo, writing the amazing songs and just incredible performances! Their concerts were wonderful! They packed stadiums every time and rocked! Jon Bon Jovi is the ultimate performer! You should definitely check out some of their concert videos, especially Dry County from Wembley in 1995, or Always from that same concert. Also Keep The Faith from Giants Stadium in 2001!
I saw them in 1995 in Bremen/Germany it was my first big concert at 16. Van Halen was the supporting group. We ❤ it. We went to another 5 concerts in the late 90s and early 2000s. It was a great time
My husband and I werent huge fans of Bon Jovi, didnt own any albums. I was shopping while he was in the car with our son. He hunted me down in the store and said he just heard a song on the radio and we had to go to Tower Records as soon as I was finished getting groceries. Saw the video on MTV that night. That song took them to a new level.
the very first cassette i ever owned was Slippery When Wet. I was seven years old and have been hooked ever since. I'm now 44 and my son is twelve. His frst concert was Bon Jovi two years ago in Omaha, NE.
Bon Jovi was my first concert when i was 12 yo. He was rigged to a line that let him fly over the audience. I thought that was just about the coolest thing i had ever seen, lol. I've loved them ever since. Great reaction!! 😊
Bon Jovi was ranked up with Motley Crue, Poison,Def Leppard,Guns N Roses as one of the biggest hair bands. This is from their Slippery When Wet (1986) album. Many hits from that album. It's a traveling road song."The "steel horse I ride" lyric is a tour bus. Ritchie Sambora is the lead guitarist
@@lilamuzik3385They don't take a plane from city to venue. .Traveling on the road not sleeping for days on a tour bus. They were like every other young band at the time on tour.Coming into a town late at night,Mobbed by women after the show, hotels, access to booze
@@josephvoytus3694 - Dude, every time the "steel horse" lyric was sung, it was a different vehicle shown in the video... private jets, limos, tour buses, etc. Pretty sure it's non-specific, except that they are referring to modern day transportation rather than horses. And of course there's the "loaded six-string" instead of a six-shooter. It's an allegorical song about the lonely traveling life of a cowboy, juxtaposed with the crazy life traveling around as a rock star.
Bon Jovi was pretty dang huge, still going too. Axeman Richie Sambora on lead guitars 🎸, Alec John Such bass, Tico Torres drums, David Bryan keyboards, JBJ lead. Richie has incredible vocals, will sometimes lead this song in concert. Have seen them multiple times, 80s 90s 00s10s. We'd the best music, think of it this way, Music and TV were our social media. I seen him in 2018 here in NJ..where he is from at the(Prudential Center) he was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! OMG let me tell you that I fell in love with this Man/Band when I was 13 - 1993 They were the 1st Rock band I ever listened to and put me onto Rock Music 🎶 also when I sen them in 2018 that was the 1st concert I've ever been to.. AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Love You Jon Bon jovi 🎸 🖤
Saw them 3 times in concert. At 74, I've seen great performances, from the Beatles to Elvis, to Alice Cooper, and Bon Jovi is right up there with the best!
In the 80's Bon Jovi was ranked a top five band. Depending on your feelings who you like most-least. 1-5 could be whoever you want. There's no wrong answer bc it's your opinion.
At 2:46, thats my then girlfriend, now wife. The blonde directly above the word FOR on the banner. Her Rock Concert Career highlight! We grew up in the 80's, Spent almost every weekend going to concerts. So lucky we saw almost all the Metal Greats! Watch the Movie ROCKSTAR with Mark Wahlberg. Its a great example of the 80's Concerts and lifestyle!
This is a great video that gives fans just a glimpse of the touring experience. Most bands in reality love performing for the audiences, but absolutely HATE touring.
This song is off of there biggest selling album "Slippery When Wet". The video tells the tale of just how much touring they did to promote the album that is why they look so worn out in the video. The steel horse he rides is not a motorcycle as you had said but father that plane that was in the video. Taking them from one place to the other on there none stop concert tour. As he said in the song. "I've seen a million faces and I have rocked them all". Pretty much true again with all the concerts for that one record they made that changed there lives forever.
You need to check out Aldo Nova. He helped Jon get started and then later Jon helped Aldo. They were good friends. Aldo wrote the main guitar riff for the song “Blaze Of Glory”. He gave it to Jon and in return Jon released Aldo’s album Blood On the Bricks on his own Jamco Record Label.
MILES bigger than Motley Crue, Poison etc. Commercially they were huge plus unlike most 80s hard rock bands they managed to slightly reinvent their sound and keep cranking out hits deep into the 90s. Their back catalogue is impressive and few bands can rival them for pure number of hits. I was into slightly heavier, less popular bands, but you had to respect these guys.
TOPCHEF said it probably the best way you can. That said, I’ve seen Bon Jovi Twice as a band. Both late 80s. Once on his own. All 3 times He ROCKED the house down. He is nothing,if not the most Professional Rock artist still today. He was once quoted saying, after Justin Bieber missed some shows, and was showing up late to concerts, “ Get Your Lazy Ass to Work Kid”! I loved that about him. He knew people paid money to see that artist perform. So if you weren’t doing the “musical” job YOU picked , and people paid to see… Well that’s just the guy Jon Bon Jovi is!!
Wild wild west theme...extreme fandom and the struggles/exhaustion with life on the road (steel horse - tour plane, bus, limos, etc)....six string on his back - like a 'six shooter' for Billy the Kid (side note: song Blaze of Glory was Bon Jovi's cotribution to the film Young Guns 2 about Billy and his gang - producers wanted to use this song, but Bon Jovi said, nah ill write you another one)...should check that tune out too
Seen them as a band live 13 times and Jon solo live once and the concerts are amazing. Incredible experience and I love their albums but I actually prefer them live!!! ❤ Jovi Love
Richie Sambora is a very underrated guitar player. Most of his solos are controlled and within the context of the song. 2 songs to check out to hear him rip it up are the ALBUM versions of Keep the Faith and Dry Country. Both on the Keep the Faith album.
Well, if you think 130 million records sold is big, then they're big! Yes, they were everywhere, had hit after hit after hit, on MTV 24/7, great in the studio & live & are still going (without Richie Sambora, though). One of the biggest bands ever. Jon Bon Jovi also beloved because of his charity work. He owns 1-2 restaurants in NJ that are 'pay what you can', that serves people in need free meals every day. He does a lot of great work.
One of my first concerts. 1986 Slippery when wet tour Dallas, Tx. Reunion arena. Great memories. Nice to see young people digging this type music. Keep it up.
Scenes from their long tour schedule - just kept going concert after concert. They were beyond exhausted as you can see from the footage. This particular song really showcases Jon's voice and Richie's guitar playing (and back-up singing) better than any of their others, imo.

I have seen Bon Jovi three times over the years. The first time was in 1995 in Gateshead (UK). The last time was at Wembley. The video of Dry County at Wembley 1995 live shows how good they really were. Richie Samboras guitar solo is one of the greatest you will see

No bigger band in 86/87, but most guys only picked up this cassette cause the chicks liked them. This song was their best IMHO. Saw them summer of 88 in Colorado & they were good but i went to see Cinderella open for them.
2:57 Bon Jovie's cool. 'Slippery when wet' was the best album he put out. Almost every song on that album was a hit. It's a must in every music collection. Where did he Rank? He's in the mix. It depends on your mood for the day & what you feel like listening to that day. 5:18 Richie Sambora. It got pretty stressful in the later years. Richie felt like he wasn't getting enough credit for all the work he put in, so he puts out a solo album to show his talent. (Richie Sambora - Ballad Of Youth) was a monster hit off that album. I still listen to it from time to time.
I saw Bon Jovi in the late 80’s they are in my top 5 favorite live bands and I’ve been to about 25 concerts, I would say #1 Stevie Ray Vaughan, #2 Metallica, #3 Bon Jovi, #4 AC DC, #5 Def Leppard.
Absolutely a GOOD concerts, lol😂. This was my generation's biggest jump off to follow all hair bands after. They were the transition band for bands like rolling Stones or Pink Floyd to more pop sounding rock. ( glam-rock)
I never saw them live because I wasn't even 13 yet when this song came out 😂 Regardless, they honed their skills touring and wanted to be the peoples band by being the best band to see live. After that album they toured for 300 shows in 1 year. 300 days out of 365? That's why they were sweating like madmen in this video.
Gotta listen to the album version. They have an Extended intro that adds to the mystique and an extended ending that creates a better climax to the song.
I recall, in late 80s, my high school years, that Bon Jovi, U2, Bangles, George Michael were the BIG deals then. Bon Jovi seemed to REALLY peak in 1987. There is probably another band or artist or three that was big in mid to late 80s, but those stick out in my memory. Mid/early 80s were Michael Jackson (Thriller had him nearly sole focus and heavy radio play for an entire year), Pat Benatar, Journey, Foreigner, The Police, Duran Duran and a few more. OBviously we all have nostalgia for our teenage era of music, when life was complicated, but really was simpler (no responsibilities...yet). The 80s just seem so much better than any other decade to me in regards to music and maybe to teenage movies. Ah, the nostalgia. LOL
I can tell these 2 are clueless when they hear "on a steel horse I ride" he's talking about the limo, the plane, the jet and you could even include a motorcycle. Come on guys he says steel horse and they show the limo and the jet right away. 😂
I've seen Bon Jovi in concert 5 times and they sound exactly the same.... they are awesome to watch live!!!! And they're still around touring... since about 1983-84ish
Bon Jovi ruled the mid to late 80's. They were the biggest rock act in the world.

Bon Jovi was way up there in the 80's,n they just came out with a new album a month ago,😍
Bon jovi are Rock gods that’s it say no more

There was nobody bigger than Bon Jovi in the 80's.
Next song, Blaze of Glory from Young Guns 2 (the movie)
'Steel Horse' is the Limo/Tour Bus/Jet Plane
Being a teen in those times was such a blessing🥲
Lol - Bon Jovi - played through a biscuit tin !!
And - yes - they were good live - back in 1987 (or 88) - Melbourne Australia
How do y'all not know the guitarist!! haha, love the channel.
Bon Jovi, my first ever concert!!❤❤
Steel horse is the tour bus
That's more sense. I always thought the steel horse was the guitar.
Back in the day he was dreamy to a young girl lol
I saw Bon Jovi in the late 80’s they are in my top 5 favorite live bands and I’ve been to about 25 concerts, I would say #1 Stevie Ray Vaughan, #2 Metallica, #3 Bon Jovi, #4 AC DC, #5 Def Leppard.
I saw them back in 2012 and they were awesome❤❤
❤❤❤Bon Jovi ❤❤❤
They were great live. I think most bands pre 90’s bands basically sound as good live as they do on the album
Absolutely a GOOD concerts, lol😂. This was my generation's biggest jump off to follow all hair bands after. They were the transition band for bands like rolling Stones or Pink Floyd to more pop sounding rock. ( glam-rock)
Favorite 80’s band and this was my favorite song! ❤️🔥🤘🏼 Check out Living on a Prayer, Shot Through the Heart…
The guitarist is Richie sambora
I never saw them live because I wasn't even 13 yet when this song came out 😂 Regardless, they honed their skills touring and wanted to be the peoples band by being the best band to see live. After that album they toured for 300 shows in 1 year. 300 days out of 365? That's why they were sweating like madmen in this video.
I wasn’t in any of the clips, but a lot of the scenes in this video were shot in my home city of Pittsburgh.
LOL
This song is about the rigorous life of being on tour.
Great reaction.
Was in the movie Young Guns 🤠
One of the best.
I can tell these 2 are clueless when they hear "on a steel horse I ride" he's talking about the limo, the plane, the jet and you could even include a motorcycle. Come on guys he says steel horse and they show the limo and the jet right away. 😂
