    🇨🇦 It's by no surprise that this yearling found its way to your ranch. I love how you are with your animals. The love you have for them is so evident in the amazing way you care for them! ❤️ I so hope that he's able to carry on with his life pain free with his kind of injury. I'm sooo grateful that he found his way to your ranch! We all know he's going to be in the BEST of hands with you! Great to see your lil princess! She's just the sweetest. Can you plz keep us updated on how the yearling is making out? Thanks as always for taking time to do these videos! I always learn so much from them. God bless all. ❤️🙏👍

Thank God the vet didn't charge us exra for the needle removel. We got her back to our farm and she turned out to be the best cow/mom we ever had. Her name was MOO BOSSY. Whoever the original owner was they went to great effort to transport to another farm rather than put him down. I grew up on a farm where sick animals had to be put down as the expense of treatment outweighed the profit. Farm animals are not pets. The animals were well taken care of because if not, market doesn’t want them. In the 70s a lot of hogs were turned loose in the wooded areas around community because price of pork dropped so low there was negative profit. Now we’re overrun with wild hogs that will tear up a field overnight or destroy a pecan grove. Before you ask no, they don’t make good pork chops. Too feral, but to keep the numbers down lots of hunters shoot them. I’ll stick with cattle.

      That is not a cow. Bison will F***k your world up, while a cow just stands there chewing its grass.
      I worked on a large bison ranch in the dakotas off and on years ago.
      Once the bison learned the fence was not going to stop them (6 to 8 strans of wire), they would just walk right through them. They would bring out a sharp shooter periodically to put down the ones that learned to run the fences, because there was no good way to stop them after that. probably what happened to this guy. He just decided to leave home.

    And, here I am, having my Sunday morning coffee before going to church, wearing my "Pioneer of the Plains" t-shirt. Having had an inguinal hernia many years ago, I can relate to the feller's condition. What you want to be careful of, is, IF an intestine section gets to moving around too much and it twists (shut), a strangulated hernia can quickly become deadly.

  • @carolfisher3730
    @carolfisher3730 3 года назад +2

    A hernia that big will be a constantly dragging type of pain for him and there is a chance that it could twist on itself (strangulate) but I'm sure the vet will have briefed them on this. Wonderful that he's now got a caring owner.

    Dusty,
    I just came across your channel today and I am hooked already. This was such a wonderful thing y'all did for the young orphan. Would love to know his story. I am compelled to commend you for your humanity, and how the young ones get to see it as they grow up.
    I'm a dinosaur, 73, life is sacred to me. You were brought up by good people, values I respect. I wish I was a neighbor to help out and be there in such a positive environment. I have loved bison since I saw my first one. I have a little Cheyenne in me so I know what these magnificent critters meant, how the whole culture of the plains American Indians revolved around these wonderful animals. I believe the "Old Ones" watched you rescue this icon of life on the plains for many centuries, and then, in a blink we almost killed them off. Governments do take their agendas quite seriously. I'm going to catch up with all your previous posts and look forward to every bit of it.
    Tip of the hat to all involved!
    Phil

During our travels as a family, he took us to a place called "The Buffalo Ranch". It was a tourist place but kids could get pictures taken on different taxidermy animals.
