- We are going to show you how robotic motion control works, and how precise it can be.
Together with the High End production house "The Marmalade" we built our own real life optical illusion using forced perspective and different layers of time. And, we are going to take you through the production from concept to post.
Also, we show you how you can use motion control with relative affordable gear in your projects… for example to create surprisingly realistic miniatures with the help of programable sliders.

I can't believe you don't have 5 million subscribers already, this is just insane! And I would imagine the recent jibone from elderkrone would also be a useful tool, having able to control up and down motion of the camera, creating an even richer image. But I just want to say a massive thank you to people like you who puts out free content as epic as this, hopefully your channel will be exploding in popularity soon!

Do you really want him to have five million subscribers though? Look at the super 'popular' channels, they're loaded with low effort rubbish and barely concealed product placement in an effort to make as much money as possible and get as many episodes as they can out of the door. I won't name names but they're pretty easy to find and incredibly obnoxious for the most part.
I would rather he makes videos as he does, slowly and with great care and as a compliment to working professionally on other things without the screaming noise of needing to be popular online.

This is like the discovery channel of filmmaking. Absolutely one of the best filmmaking educational channels I’ve ever come across and couldn’t recommend it more.

The problem is, that the only way to make halve decent bucks is to make a ton of views and affiliate earnings... so I don't blame anybody when they go for clickbait and reviews. We hope that we win more love that views, and we can translate that into a strong community at some point.... in the end, we all have to feed our kids and pay our rent. This is I think the fourth time I am watching this presentation. I like that despite the main attraction being the ultra expensive robot, you teach the concepts of filming in passes and using miniatures to circumvent the need for cgi quite well! The plane miniature scene blew my mind!
I really wonder how it is like to work in a studio environment like that... It looks like a dream to me!

I am all for it Cheeken... yeah, not everybody has access to robots (that includes us most of the time), so what would be the use of that besides the showcase? Always trying to put something out that (at least at some level) is helpful for a broader audience.

Our Partner The Marmalade has a stop motion unit and several FX people coming from traditional animation. I have something in my head for years… live size stop motion combined with motion control. Funny
The ventilator to add turbulences to the plane model is a nice touch. But this defeats the principle of using a second pass, thanks to the motion control, to generate the travelling matte. Because the two passes will not exactly match in that case.
Exactly... and we say that right away 23:33... but you can use this technique + turbulence without replacing the backdrop like in the overhead shot, that still includes the original TV backdrop 20:44

@@MediaDivision you are not "dancing dancing" like a classical ballet, but there is a choreography of the camera, a choreography for the different takes of you moving, and then a choreography made in postproduction with the different speed transformations: this is all the definition of a screendance, and you have become the Barýshnikov of screendance.

Awesome ! I do a lot of high speed video stuff for my work with weapons and we NEVER trust an automated system with a weapon and people in front of it ..... NEVER !!!!!
