My brother is a PWD contractor, before starting his business he bought on emi a JCB, a Roller, two mini trucks, one 6wheel mid size Tripper, testing equipments and other miscellaneous stuff. He got a manager for the construction site and three drivers on a monthly payroll. This is just the initial investment, then to make sure he gets the tender he had to pay 1% of Bill value to a guy working in PWD dept, 1.5% to the Chief Engineer, 2% to the local MLA and another 2.5-3.5% to upper level CM, PWD minister (probably) else he won't get his bill passed. He has to travel to the capital city every two months. The govt keeps 10% of your bill as a security money for 3-5 years. Within that time period if anything happens to the road it will be compensated from the security money. Now like any other contractor in India, he also try to cut corners by using cheap material & also to compensate for the bribe that he has given. From here you can guess the quality of the finished road. This is the reality in almost all the states. Driving discipline is the primary culprit. People need to be trained about the discipline in driving and its importance. Driving tests need to be much more stringent and people must be trained to handle vehicle at higher speeds. Road Standards Vary: Different countries have their own criteria for defining what constitutes a highway or a major road. In India, it seems that the statistics for total road mileage include a large number of roads, even those that might be considered low-grade or not up to international highway standards. This can inflate the overall mileage figure compared to countries with stricter criteria. Inclusion of Non-Paved Roads: In some countries, like India, it appears that non-paved roads may be counted as part of the total road mileage, contributing to the higher figures. However, in some other countries, only concrete or asphalt-paved roads are considered highways, which can result in a lower reported mileage. Width Requirements: Countries like China may impose specific width requirements for roads to be classified as highways. For instance, only roads with a width of more than seven meters and paved with concrete or asphalt are considered highways. This selective classification could potentially lead to a lower highway mileage figure in China compared to India, where roads with smaller widths or different surface materials may also be included. It is essential to consider these variations and differences in road standards and classification methods when comparing road statistics between different countries. The reported mileage may not provide a direct comparison of the quality or infrastructure of roads in each country. Additionally, factors such as population density, urbanization levels, and terrain can also influence the overall road network and the types of roads found in each nation.
That's why we need Ghati Shakti program to be implemented... I know and I can bet nothing goes according to plan in India, even with all pre-planned road with water, pipelines etc still we will be digging the road coz it's India! I mean we're good and bad at the same time...

Lane discipline, wrong side overtaking and defective vehicle lights, bad lighting on roads and the worst part unorganized and poorly designed roads and the markings. Also cant blame everything on Government, well their job is to provide us better designed functional roads and infra and sensible rules to be strictly implemented and its our job to follow them. Guys your audio is all over the place. Please maintain consistent audio throughout the video. I had to lower & raise my volume multiple times throughout the video. Otherwise, great joB!
Tarmac is better than cement roads in terms of safety because u get better breaking and better handling on tarmac , also speed is not the problem cars in European or Western countries ply at much higher speeds but fatalities are less because they follow discipline. Summary: tarmac >>concrete Discipline >>>> low speeds
But grip in concrete roads are less compared to another one. This may reduce the driving speed of vehicles but for ambulance what will happen??? Still we need some other thing to manage it. You guys say about it.
If you don't keep up with the current news, I'm happy to tell you that the Government is soon abolishing the old system and implementing a new centralised system for all the construction related projects. For ex. Let's say a road is being constructed. And the government has planned to put a pipeline and fiber optic cables thriugh it. So the builder can just log into the centralised system (it'll be a website or it can be a app) and check the projects that are to be done aling with the construction of the road. Now when je finds out that pipelines and fiber optic cables are to be laid, he can just contact the people that are gonna put those lines in place, and the road wil be constructed along with the pipelines and the fiber optics. So no need to dig the road again. Hope you understood, cause I dont think I explained it properly. If you want more info there's a RUclips channel named "Think School". He has explained this topic in a great detail
Thank you for a wonderful video. Now, I kind of disagree with the quirky despeeding BRO slogans being an effective safety tool. Here are more strategic ways of reducing roadway fatalities: 1. Modern Auto safety standards: Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) is India’s own crash testing programme starting from 1 October. This will be a step up from our current inefficient and lacking safety standards. 2. Policing and highspeed traffic laws: One of the safest highways in the world, the German Autobahn has a speed limit of 130kmph and records much lower accident rates. That’s mainly due to a handful of stringent safety rules, and the presence of the autobahnpolizei - the autobahn’s dedicated police force. 3. Better road safety marking: Winter months in Delhi see an alarming 15-20% rise in road traffic accident cases. This trend observed is in December, January when fog, pollution are at their peak and days are shorter. This city also records the highest number of road deaths. I hope we end up taking more steps at a central govt. Level as high speed roads become more accessible and widespread increasing.
0:19 That's so relatable... Even in my street... They layed of the road after 10 years(each year we asked them for road ...) and all of sudden they digged all road said ... We need to lay pip I was like damn they could it before putting road ... I just wondering why I asked for a road
In our colony we have very fine roads no holes smooth plan roads but in in summer roads completely destroyed in name of water pipe line now in rain session situation get worse water in patholes, holes etc Looks like we traveled back in days where we don't have roads just made by human activities And I don't think that govt. Going to make roads in next 10 years
Expressways passing through Villages actually have higher benefit to them. Imagine leaving your home and within 5 minutes you are on a road that allows travelling at 120 km/h. Coupled with good skills and knowledge of certain fields in demand, you are gonna have money and still save time in life that's not wasted in traffic, something that people in city can't avoid
This is probably India's biggest issue. If you count hygiene and poverty, this comes next. Hygiene and poverty will develop soon or later, and that is the least of my concerns, but Indian roads NEED to improve. Come on guys, it's 2023. I'm glad that Aevy brought this topic up because the road infrastucture in India still has a LOT to improve on. There are potholes every like 100 feet you travel on the roads, and the traffic. The traffic is not maintained at all. But at the same time, I can't blame India because India has so much population that traffic is pretty much impossible to improve, and some obvious changes have actually improved traffic, for instance, the METRO system. METRO introduced another way of transportation and makes it a lot easier to travel a lot quicker. There are solutions out there to these huge problems, but India needs to take action to actually improve the nation.
Thank you @aevytv for creating a new concept, to make people understand complex topics in a much easier and entertaining way like you Mid-skits, and editing. Everything is done perfectly. Thank you!
City roads are State Issues. But it is spread across India. A common issue. Corrupts make road then dig it for pipeline or other nuisance. This is happening through years. National Issue now. State's power on road construction should be curbed and a national decision should be made. We have roads which look like roads before independence.
In Chennai we got Concrete roads in are locally, which was ruined by electricity and metro workers. Ideally in case of Asphalt roads even if it is ruined we get new road in 5 years. But now in spite of concrete roads, when ruined they can't put a new one for next 10 years. Poor planning ruins

Roads?
Just coming home safely after a 1 km ride is a miracle due to rash drivers everywhere.
Nobody even waits for the signals.
Nothing is corrupt when it comes to infrastructure projects in India. Blame it on nature. The authorities are doing a great job.
This is understandable and true, but I think same level of investment in simply laying out infra for internet broadband will have a much higher multiplier because services have a higher markup than goods.
Simplest solution for reducing accident on highways is for everyone to drive in their own lanes.
Actually, that's what many do. They drive in their own lanes rather than those marked on the roads. Worse, they drive lost in their own worlds, usually on the mobile.
Educated and people like you who knew facts and revealed it on social media, I think what India need.
Didnt expect Priyal Dhuri💯
Them can use fiber glass mesh while making a concrete road to avoid having any cracks,
Could you please make a case Study on reddit ?
Being a reddit user , I just want to know how did they start and what were the strategies for its success,
One I know is the founders created fake accounts and started using the app until they got even more users to join.
Would love to know about it more
its also the same in indore ,great video keep moving forward Good WIshes
Please do a video on leaning reverse trikes! This technology can save a lot of lives in India lost to two wheeler accidents.
We lack lane discipline. Speed is not always the culprit (infact i propose increasing the limit on highways). Chalta hai, tu jantha hai mein kaun hun, abhi bulata hun type of BS attitude chodna padega.
That was a really informative and well made video ngl
Also can you change up those static kinda effects on the white screen behind the speaker, coz in this vid they looked like spots and hair on my screen a lot of times which was distracting
Good luck
Maybe we should invest in rail infrastructure too...
More efficient, less polluting.
Also makes us less dependent on imported oil.
Teri jaise log Sachin ko cricket sikhane ka baat kartha hai.
Indian railways are 100% electrified recently with more funding by govt and new railway lines and dfcs are laid and new passenger and freight trains are introduced and railway profits are making records in the past couple of years...
@@VALAR_Morgulis.I support LGBTQ ❤
Enjoyed the video. Quick suggestion that some flakes appear when the background gets completely white behind the presenter. It's a tad bit distracting though.
Will you make a video on Jack Dorsey’s recent statement please?
Regarding highway fatalities, instead of speed control they should make Highways controlled access like the Mumbai Pune Expressway
Govt should take inspiration from Autobahn Germany
Videos are so good but Please maintain audio levels
Getting high and low, have to increase and suddenly decrease volume
I would love if you can make a video on the cons of focusing too much on road based infrastructure too..
Are concrete road safer compared to ashphalt roads?? What about friction during monsoon or over heating during summer?? Just curious
Summary: tarmac >>concrete
Discipline >>>> low speeds
About 2years ago my mother got into devastating accident she can't even walk properly now after so many attempts to do physiotherapy
They should mix plastic in the concrete cause it will recycle the plastic and also make the roads more durable.
Why are Mumbai's and banglore's roads are like this?
Well we did some digging
✨Pun-intended✨
I think I want know is video ko edit krne me kitna time lga ? Please reply video editor 👌👌
AevyTv once again making amazing explanations of complex topics! Love from VTZ!💗
One of the few YT channels where I return to check if something new is uploded
Recently Mumbai Thane concrete road got cracks within a month of opening
I shaw this channel for first time and the content , editing is just mind boggling , its called quality content
Thank you for a wonderful video.
Now, I kind of disagree with the quirky despeeding BRO slogans being an effective safety tool. Here are more strategic ways of reducing roadway fatalities:
You guys are going great job. Why you guys are not famous??
In our colony we have very fine roads no holes smooth plan roads but in in summer roads completely destroyed in name of water pipe line now in rain session situation get worse water in patholes, holes etc
Looks like we traveled back in days where we don't have roads just made by human activities
And I don't think that govt. Going to make roads in next 10 years
We finally got the best RUclips channel in india❤️🔥
Aevy is not just a vibe it's getting an emotion❤️🔥♥️
Big fan Varun sir 🙏
6:06 Never saw anyone get so excited about books. Where can I get an entire stash? Asking for a friend.
for me the best part was 2:30 and 11:38 ofcourse
Road rash video game at 2:30
Yes🎉
Didn't Mod launch an app to resolve the issue of constant digging of roads.
We need to move towards walking cities.
Finally a worthy new channel
In Chennai we got Concrete roads in are locally, which was ruined by electricity and metro workers. Ideally in case of Asphalt roads even if it is ruined we get new road in 5 years. But now in spite of concrete roads, when ruined they can't put a new one for next 10 years. Poor planning ruins
0:20 This is happening now due to the LPG Pipeline
Thankyou so much for your videos i gather alot of knowledge just because of you guys❤❤❤
Gadkariji is building roads at high speed but not taking care of the quality
Ex: newly inaugurated delhi mumbai express way and Chennai Mysuru express way
5:10 highly debatable.. use of petro-wheelers is not sustainable.
Legends know this is the fourth thumbnail 😂
5:44 "But the problem with the seaports is that, they are near the sea"⛵🌊
5:12 it goes - American roads are good not because American is rich , But America is rich because American roads are good
*I think GATI Shakti initiative was to solve this problem right???*
In Gujarat where i live they charge 3000 RS. For a license (four wheeler).
In my opinion never demand any kind of roadways Where in the name of facilities, your home only provides dilemmas!
The solution for this is: connectivity between different developmental departments
In our city Hyderabad every street is transforming into a concrete road now I get it why they are switching from asphalt road to concrete road
Creation and lack of communication in different departments are the main problem.😢😢😔
Water supply, and cable connection, electricity department are not communicated properly before digging and construction that the main problem for bad rood and survices😢
Building easy and effective protocols and software for permission are more convenient methods.❤❤
No politition has the ability to implement those rules and interests.😢😔
Come to Andhra for the research on this topic. No need for you to search for potholes on the roads, but you have to search for finding the roads!
I love your videos the editing the information acting very cool
