As a Gen Z going to college this year I’m so so glad that my elder brethren is raising issues that I was scared to face when I enter the workplace. Thank you @AevyTV for bringing this up and giving me hope ❤❤
it's a hustle culture that keeps a system going for the long run. Imagine GenZ soldiers on borders saying mental health and all shit and giving up on their duty. There should be a balance in everything and what we genZ are doing is not balanced
Hello! A millennial psychiatrist here. I agree with most of what genZs want. My only advice: keep fighting for the meaningful issues rather than getting offended at useless things.
Millenial neurosurgery 'student' here, thinking about will i have any strength left once i finish studies and start 'living'.. if there will ever be a life Ps: praying for a work-life revamp among indian doctor's without the increasing number of suicides by gen-z docs
Ah, the irony of corporate culture labeling Gen Z as the harbingers of workplace chaos! It's amusing, really. Let's unpack this stereotype circus with a dash of reality and a pinch of humor, shall we?" 1. On "Lack of Work Ethic": Gen Z gets criticized for their ‘quiet quitting’? Funny, because it was the adults of yesteryear who coined terms like 'TGIF' and 'Monday blues'! Let's not pretend that leaving the office at 6 PM sharp is some new-age rebellion. If anything, Gen Z just made a meme out of it-and guess what, memes work faster than motivational posters!" 2.On "Always on Their Phones": "If scrolling Instagram at workplace is a crime, then the older generations should confess to endless coffee breaks and hours of ‘urgent’ photocopying. At least Gen Z uses their phones to stay updated, whether it’s LinkedIn tips or RUclips tutorials-because who else will fix the printer after it jams for the 100th time?" 3.GenZ on Being too Senstive. "Calling Gen Z ‘snowflakes’ while older employees crack under the weight of an Excel sheet-oh, the double standards! If prioritizing mental health makes one sensitive, then let’s all agree that burnout culture created by Predecessor generation is the real tantrum-thrower here." 4.On "Obsessed with Social Causes": "Sure, Gen Z wants sustainable coffee cups and diversity at the table-but is that so bad? Let’s not forget who turned office meetings into environmental disasters with piles of printed agendas. At least Gen Z is trying to save paper while saving the planet!" 5. On "Entitlement": "They say Gen Z expects promotions too fast. Well, who set the bar by promoting the office gossiper because they were ‘great at networking’? Gen Z’s crime is wanting clear KPIs and fairness-not exactly an unreasonable demand!" 6. On "Preferring Flexibility": "Remote work was called a 'fad' when Gen Z wanted it. Then the pandemic hit, and suddenly everyone realized that pajama productivity was a thing. Seems like Gen Z was just ahead of the curve-again." 7. On "Building a Personal Brand": "When Gen Z polishes their LinkedIn, it’s called narcissism. When older generations name their cubicles ‘Boss’s Corner,’ it’s called ambition. Ah, the poetry of corporate hypocrisy!" 8. On "Awkward Face-to-Face Communication": "So Gen Z prefers Slack and emojis? Fair. But remind me, who invented those cheesy motivational posters with comic sans font? Clearly, communication quirks aren’t generational-they’re universal!" 9.On "Job Hopping": "Gen Z changes jobs every two years? Hilarious, because the ones complaining about loyalty were the first to jump ship for a 5% raise back in those days. The pot calling the kettle disloyal, isn’t it?" 10. On "Technology Dependence": "Gen Z Googles for solutions. The older generations, meanwhile, still think calling IT Fellow for a password reset is a valid skill. At least Gen Z solves the problem faster-and without a 30-minute ‘networking break.’" 11. On "Gen Z Humor in the Workplace": "If Gen Z’s Slack memes disrupt workplace decorum, then explain how karaoke nights and 'Fun Friday' dance-offs were ever considered professional. Humor just evolved; it didn’t vanish!" "The real joke isn’t Gen Z-it’s the degrading corporate culture that expects enthusiasm for unpaid overtime, delivers generic pep talks, and hands out pizza parties instead of raises. Gen Z isn’t the problem; they’re just holding up a mirror to the workplace, and the reflection isn’t flattering. So, instead of pointing fingers at the youth, perhaps it’s time for all generations to join forces-and fix the punchlines before they become tragedies."
Although the economy needs a big boost. I still think that the GenZ's reply of "keep up with me or I'll resign" is a big slap on the selfishness of corporate companies.
Corporates won't spend a minute before letting you go. This is India, not the United States, and there's always a man who's willing to do your work for the same amount of money. Edit: All these terms to describe these generations were formulated in the US, keeping in mind the US' Economy. It cannot be used in the same manner for every context for every country, especially India. Our generation is not purposeless in India (if we exclude the privileged class). We have the same aspirations that Gen X had in the US back in 70s. After all, most of our population comes in the category of India 3, which is poor.

I can work 70 hours a week if I'm paid for the extra hours. But the issue with most companies, especially startups, in India is that they expect you to work 12-14 hours for an 8-hour salary, which to me is unacceptable.
@@shadowking255 if you cant run a business working normal hours don't do it, it will eventually fail and you will disappoint a lot of people including investors, that's the reason most startups fail, they are desperate to enter into competition which they don't even understand
I can understand this sentiment with well established businesses who have the funds but choose to undercut their own employees. Startups on the other hand are under high risk and budget constraints unless they do find some success within their business model (most of the time it doesn't really happen), the whole organization basically works over-time.
@@shadowking255as a business owner I am happy to work beyond 70 hours a week because I see the results of my work. If it’s the case of an employee, if you don’t pay them fairly for the duration of work they do expecting them to work that long is just un fathomable.
Dear genZ please not that only class1 and class2 employees ( i.e. Manger or above manager level ) their work is calculate based on productivity, but for class3 employees the work is calculate only based on time , since most of their work is repetitive or cyclic, which means dudes like them, u can get easily , so unless ur work is unique or high level, ur work is solely calculated on time basis
Being a GenZ i can relate a lot...i prefer mental balance with the life because that was how humans can live to their fullest...we respect the efforts done by past generations but having proper flow is a necessity which GenZ will do properly ❤
During my quarterly review meeting, my manager called me in and talked about how it was wrong to not pick up my higher up's call. First - it was a Saturday. Doesn't matter how important a work call is - I don't see why I have to pick up on a non-working day. Second - there was only one call and no text. I honestly missed the call and because there was no second call or a message, one would assume that it was not important. The fact that this was even a point of discussion in my review meeting is ridiculous. No wonder why so many people prefer working outside India where there is a distinction between work and personal time
Agree that you are not obliged to pickup calls, but maybe once when you are a senior and you are under the pressure, you would expect your junior to pickup a call. Life isn't only about Monday to Friday bro. And I completely agree that this shouldn't have come up in reviews.
@@sunay72its unreasonable for someone to expect a junior to pick up a work call in the weekends. If it's really that important they should have left a text stating why they called
@@NINJA_AMARA you create a privileged class- privileged class creates skilled and educated employees - privileged class isn't starving, duh! now what top 1% eka rich employers are left with? unskilled, or poorly equipped desperate employees who are willing to work with the little money you provide them, or you can deal with highly skilled entitled/ privileged employees The growing income and economic inequality in India will worsen the problem, Large businesses based in India will fail as the opportunities for this privileged class will grow outside India, and indian companies with low-skilled employees will have to compete with Western businesses with highly skilled and privileged employees. the large economic disparity is the main culprit here. Also, I'm excluding that the health and living conditions of a privileged and highly skilled employee would be much higher than that of their low-skilled counterparts which will result in their higher work efficiency.
As a 22 year old, who works from home. I wake up at 4:45am & start my work at 5:30 even though the time is 5:00 am. i just wear a shirt, wear slippers and turn my laptop on. I would stay jobless instead of going to a physical office, getting suited up and lose my energy. I finish my work at 1:00 pm and then go sleep for 1-2 hours. This kind of work is i always dreamt of. Why go to a physical office when you can work from home
1. The biggest problem in most organizations is their HR. In India, HRs are often unprofessional and rude, ignoring questions and opting for other candidates instead of ensuring the best fit. This happens even in top-tier organizations. We've stayed silent, but Gen Z spoke up. 2. Employees are expected to work over 8 hours without OT pay. We stayed silent, but Gen Z acted. 3. Salary hikes based on merit are rare, usually only matching inflation (6-10%), while new hires with similar talent who switch jobs get 30% hikes. We stayed silent, but Gen Z acted. 4. Disrespect from seniors. We stayed silent, but Gen Z acted. Many a times their demands make sense. However, some quit over trivial issues instead of resolving them through conversation. Few entitled ones are there as well and its a reality we have to live with.
Being an Indian and living in the US I can say that Gen Z is doing things in India that the previous generations have done in the developed countries. Of course its a double edged sword. We will see people taking shortcuts n giving up easily, at the same time we will also see some newer healthier changes like emphasizing on mental health, work life balance etc. These things are important no matter what part of the world you live in.
Exactly I feel like It's time to redefine Means of Slavey that was meant to be stated by these big corporates. Their culture of work just being the only thing that a human should focus on is a fucked up thought. Especially in the world of AI change No company knows how they may also go out of business anytime, Then why shouldn't we focus on our biggest asset which is our body & mental health,.....
A point here is US is a developed economy while India isn't. So if people want the same standards expect india to not grow quickly. I work with the Japs. Its a developed economy part of the reason was they worked really hard.
good idea, most offices are ded spaces we need more creativity especially with all that money lying around corporates spend millions on building prices why not on good designers for interior
ironically last week in my MNC we had a 1 hr long speech/seminar work life balance and mental health after office hours. and the person read like10 research papers that made us feel we are guilty for not working hard enough.
Thanks for highlighting this point. This capitalist and politician thinks we are stupid. They want to make us feel guilty for not working hard. Their formula is simple- take out the time from our life and make us bonded labour. We are entitled to have freedom. Work hours should not be more than 6 hours. We should not spend our hard earned money on something which is not required. Stop buying product from evil conglomerate like adani wilmar, use local product instead. You buy their product you feed them.
Even an ironic thing is that the work life balance seminar is held on your personal life timing after office work .... This is enough to affect your mental health and work life balance
@@August_2456 there are many empaths who will had hard time working in open office and toxic corporate culture...I had burnout due to this. Back when this happened I didn't even aware of this. My opinion is : Corporates won't spend a minute before letting you go. This is India, not the United States, and there's always a man who's willing to do your work for the same amount of money. Because there's just too much human capital to replace you. UNLESS, you're giving the company something which other people can't. Edit: All these terms to describe these generations were formulated in the US, keeping in mind the US' Economy. It cannot be used in the same manner for every context for every country, especially India. Our generation is not purposeless in India (if we exclude the privileged class). Even that being said HR knows how much it cost for the company when employee quits and they have to hire a new employee and train for 6 months, so that's expensive, even if you Hire experience one, That's expensive. And Remember all the company wants Young employee that drives the workforce not the old one.
As a genz, I am really proud of my generation for not bearing selfish capitalist society & taking stand... I would rather have work life balance and get decent salary then work for 10 or 12 hrs a day and get little high pay.. Like deadass ,your youth is most imp time of your life. Negligence of health will lead to long-term effect.. On top of that if you're not chilling and enjoying life then what's the point of working ! ! ! !
Completely agree with the health point. It's very important to set boundaries yourself in the workplace or you'll be eaten. Its eat or be eaten kind of situation.
Companies giving 'no emails no calls after work hours' don't realise that it is what they are supposed to do and not market it as a privilege they are giving to the workers
This video really brought back painful memories of times when I had lost my job in the layoffs and the successive job hunt enduring months of rejection mails and ghosting. I later realized I already hated the job where I worked before, had to break that cycle. When I did I found newer options than I had given myself before. As Gen z, corporate culture might not be for everyone and maybe your skills are more suited elsewhere. Put it in some effort to make sure you work for something that aligns with your internal values. Nothing else will give you that drive to keep going at it until the job is done.
I'm a genz kid, joining college in 3-4 months, and I believe in hustle culture a lot, but I think when I would do a job, work life balance would be my first priority.
A company came to our college last year which clearly stated in the pre-placement session that this is a consulting job and you need to work 12-15 hours a day with an in-hand salary of 60,000/month. I loved their transparency. One of our senior got placed in that company, it's really tough for him but he'll resign after 1 year.
There's nothing wrong with any generation It's only wrong with people who think others should act this way or that way based on their life experiences and mindset
GenZ here. The o reasons we are difficult to work with are:- 1. We can do 10 hour work in 30 min and dont prefer to ego massage our bosses. Millennials and gen X love to stretch simple work and give bj to their superiors 2. We dont like getting bullied. 3. We are vocal and stand up for our self respect. 4. We dont have any baggages like huge loans or taking care of parents (as they earn as well) so we don't mind switching firms.
i am technically a millennial but i am proud to be labelled as a gen z or gen alpha. Once upon a time i was working in a IT company, there was no AC, only cooler which cool a specific area in office(senior's section). My boss will tell me to work on a project but what i have to do, my other senior will tell me, who often tell my work after 4-5pm. So why do work at office when you can do it at the comfort of your home. You save travel time, when you want to discuss project work with senior and he say "bad may ana" you can go gym that time, you can have better working condition(having AC or cooler at your room aka personal cabin),and no one will judge your working style since no one can see what you are doing. And speaking of senior support, chatgpt can answer question better then most senior. like on day i ask my senior what is Franklin Templeton, and his answer was "It is a domain used by banks and finance sector ", then i asked what is domain, then my senior got angry because as an IT guy i don't know what is domain. Asking same question to google or chatgpt was such a breeze.
I feel Genz are not really intrested to work for corperations where there feel less important or where they can be easily replaced .Companies want employees to see greater purpose even when the employee is just doing excel and leaders of the same company comes out to media with statements like Ai will be replacing the workforce of these tasks so people are questioning more than ever and that is turning things passive aggressive
Very true it creates anxiety and lack of trust and encourages to start own business ( not all people but imagine after getting fired trying again again and wasting time instead they will focus on other Jobs and opportunities
As a part of *Gen Z-Y,* I advise the *younger generation* to follow the *right course/ study, respect their religious beliefs, learn from their experiences, take good care of their bodies, engage in yoga, and exercise.*
I was born 1998 and the job that I'm doing right now is so good, am doing at my peak to say rather than cause for a promotion but even when I was at the top to get the promotion I declined and I moved to a different team. Now the only reason is not to take that much stress. I even don't want to pay

Very interesting topic, which actually tells us a lot about how our civilization is evolving away from Capitalism. I am a Millenial, who teaches GenZ and I love this generation. Good analysis, but I think a deeper insight could be still drawn. One BIG point you missed to explain why "Rage Applying" is becoming a norm is because Companies do not want to retain their employees. Currently if you survey, a huge chunk of job listing are pseudo postings. These are Jobs listed just to fulfill certain criteria as well as keep a safety net when or if an employee quits their job. This creates sheer amount of chaos within Job Hunting and hence Rage Applying makes sense. Society is evolving, and all the generations represent the time they were born in. Boomers- World Wars Gen X- Recession Millenials- Tech Boom Gen Z- Mental Health crisis Gen Alpha?
& That's how reality check sounds like. Achina is now running an organisation that's why she is also a little biased towards organisation culture. but still I feel like she would be good to work with as she is easily adaptable.
As a GenZ who will enter college this year, i just want my country's youth to work towards progressing the science and technology of our country to such a level that we start manufacturing indigenous machinery and import as minimum as possible. Love this video, especially the bit at the end. You're probably the only person who've managed to tell Gen-Z the importance of work and also how to, without sounding like some entitled profit hungry capitalist greedy out-of-touch random Indian CEO..
I am a Gen-z but lemme tell you smth: Actually, you'll see the rise of old school fashion, old school romance gigs through the help of Gen-z. We're the ones really embracing traditional values & trying to find deeper meaning, hence I think we'll slowly get adapted to the work culture but in our own way. That being said tho, the change is inevitable
As a GenZ who has access to a lot of information, I can assure you that we come across a lot of social views and opinions, which will increase our awareness and question about our purpose of living, which will inturn make us intolerable to the toxic work culture.
thank you so much for putting all of this, i am so glad that im watching it right now , you really solved all my doubts and i was really stressing so much about what should i work in future, which course should i pursue, and that essay in description was a great help too as i have very diverse type of intrests . thank you so much this video is a great help
Previous Generations lived to work, Gen Z works to live, they are focused more on work-life balance, traveling the World, having unique Life experiences, and not being treated like a low wage slave at their Job. Our Fathers, Grandfathers, and ancestors didn't have a problem working for 40 years at one Company, or working for 10 hours daily, they lived to work, Gen-Z on the other hand won't follow the same footsteps.
I worked at a MNC. All the promises that they made were completely bullshit. I use to travel about 30kms for the job and they were still expecting me to work 1 hours before nd after the shift. So basically 10 hours and 2 hours each side on travel and they were paying me nuts. I talked abt it and they(Manager and seniors) started bursting out of rage. Got frustrated nd resigned.
You generalized gen-z by making it about tier1 cities and higher middle class living. One resigns without another job is because their parents are feeding them without earning. Which is why I hire and train people from tier 3 cities or remote villages. They have more patience and they work hard.
I'm Millennial i have worked with GenZ. I have my Quit First job in an MNC to pursue my passion. Thre isn't anything wrong in it. Its all about Age. Freedom to take our own decision.
AI is causing an existential crisis for Generation Z in my social circle by reshaping relationships, introducing uncertainties in the job market, and blurring the lines between virtual and physical connections.
These big corporates who make millions and millions and still pay there workers Penny needed a lesson to be learnt, it was long due, specially in India.
I thought this will be another genz bashing video but points put across are accurate and logical pointing out the good and the flaws of this generation. I still think we have much more to learn about the changes word is going ever since the pandemic things are moving at a very fast pace is one of the reasons why genz can be labelled as lazy because I don't think previous generation experience that much technological development and overload information which i think is the reason genz motives to be called superficial. That's for my essay great video as usual from Aevy Tv
Yes every generation needs money but question is how much? And at what cost? Gen Z doesn't want to get fixated with just earning money period. They just see money as a way to buy convenience, way to do what they really want to do at this moment because they aren't sure about what's going to happen next. With lack of transparency and clear goals, gen z struggle to find meaning in life and they value it more than the materialistic comfort that money gives.

@@aryanthakkar Yes and no. I'm not talking about money management here. It's all about the mentality that gen z wants to represent. If they hate the work and don't have money, they just get the money as much as possible and quit . That's it. No drama. In short, they don't have dignity of labor rather they respect sense of purpose. They are at the phase of teething as OP mentioned. Gen Z also don't have trouble earning the money as long as they don't want a commitment even they have to feed their parents because the satisfaction is cheap and easy to obtain in this current generation through social media and there's no need for any age old traditions of family to be followed just for seeking satisfaction. The main problem is that the older generation don't want to understand that not everybody can be workaholic and if this situation and same expectations continue then one day you would be expected to work 20 hrs a day . Is it really necessary to always work ? There needs to be a balance in work and personal life otherwise our own identity would only be an employee that is not right . Yes discipline is important but to maintain balance with discipline gives us a good life .
I work 9 to 5 for my company. Beyond that I work on myself and polishing my skills. I love working and learning new things. It's just I do what I enjoy, not only what the job demands.

The last comment in the video about loving a 70 hour work week should never be dealt at a workplace, A person can work 40-100 hours a week for himself but for an employer one should never work for more than 40-45 hours without 1.5times of Overtime pay per hour.

Great video, but I think this is mostly true about the privileged gen Zs.. and I think the privileged people from generation before were also kinda similar just that their numbers were lower. So I think it's just about how much privilege someone had and how entitled they feel... I think for a work environment to be frictionless both the parties need to change with time, if any one of them falls behind or goes too ahead, there are bound to be issues...
I'm a Gen Z I work a 9 to 5 job in Japan. I come home and build my business. And I believe at a young age working really hard is a better decision. If you want work life balance then you don't get to complain that your country is not developing fast enough. You don't get both the cake and pie. Make your bed and sleep in it.
My experience with Gen Z 1. No respect for elders 2. No interest in work and always want to hang out and chill 3. Want direct solution n not bothered about the process to get solution 4. Want spoon feeding in everything 5. Want instant results and no patience to achieve something that takes time.
I think we're all missing the point. Work should be fun. It shouldn't feel like work. I've noticed this trend thr younger the generation the more time they need to conform to the social norm the more experimental they are (well atleast in potential)😅. The older generations may want to make the younger ones work to their ways without seeing what fresh eyes can bring. As a Gen Z who entered the workplace 6 months prior to the pandemic, I really resonate with the teething issues thing. I felt so lost in my company when I returned to the workplace, it took me months to be able to understand the real way the office worked. During this re-acclimatization period, I thought of quitting many times too, but couldn't due to the some reason. Spot on analysis of the pandemic impacting the way Gen Z has been behaving in the workplace.
Hi aevy tv, it's nothing less than a pleasure to follow you. But I would really love if at all u talk about the Dravidian agenda and it's propaganda either. Would be nothing less than an honour if u make that video. Loads of love from Chennai
I started working in 2006 in TCS and I will be honest work culture was quite relaxed. Things started changing post 2015 and I dont exactly know the reasons for that. New concept like Agile methodology were introduced in my office to get twice the work from us per hour. We were suddenly being questioned on tea breaks. Night shift culture started. Those in 5-15 year experience were suddenly being laid off and everyone started working under fear of being fired that too in a company like TCS. I can safely say this was happening in all IT companies in India. May be due to increased competition from other countries entering IT. So I would say that this shift in genzs attitude is completely understandable and I totally support it.
Summary - Genz is immature and lost in their seemingly perfect virtual world, which makes it difficult for them to accept the real world. Work-life balance makes sense but it can't be "perfect" like tiktok filters.

Woooow, What the tale of Gen Z and the ‘Workplace Woes!’ What a comedic masterpiece this has become. It’s amusing how the older generations sit perched on their high horses, sipping nostalgia, while pointing fingers at Gen Z for sins they themselves have quietly perfected over decades.” 1. “Late to Work? Don’t blame the clock; blame the Rigid Attandance culture!” Funny how people think coming late is a Gen Z trademark. But wasn’t it older generation like Millenial, Xillinial, Lathckey Kid or even Some of the Boomers that coined terms like 'Indian Stretchable Time'? Ahem, let’s not forget those senior executives who take leisurely two-hour lunches and then blame traffic for a late evening return to the office. Seems like Gen Z is merely following the timetable of their elders-punctuality redefined!" 2. “Emails with Casual Words? That’s rich!” “‘Hey folks’ and ‘Just ping me’-classic Gen Z, right? Wrong! I’ve seen enough email threads from every generation peppered with ‘Bro,’ ‘ASAP,’ and ‘LOL.’ The only difference? Gen Z owns it. The rest of you? Masterful at pinching someone through passive-aggressive CCs while typing, ‘Just following up on my earlier email.’ Oh, the art of modern diplomacy!” 3.“The Phone Addiction Accusation-A Screen Generation Blame Game!” Accusing Gen Z of being glued to their screens is like blaming the river for being wet. Aren’t these devices the very tools created by the Boomers and millennials? And let’s not forget those marathon Candy Crush and WhatsApp status updates from older generation colleagues. It’s a workplace thing, not a generation thing, folks!” 4. "Too Sensitive? Pot, Meet Kettle.” Ah, sensitivity-the realm where Gen Z is mocked for caring. But wasn’t it your Millennials batch that brought us HR manuals thicker than tax law books because someone was offended by the AC temperature? Let’s be real; the workplace isn’t sensitive because of Gen Z-it’s sensitive because the falling of corporate culture demands it. We're all snowflakes; we’re just in denial.” 5. “Job Hopping and Flexibility-A Generational Myth.” “Here’s a fun fact: studies show people from every generation job-hop when they can. Why? Because loyalty doesn’t pay the rent. Gen Z just has the guts to say it out loud. Oh, and didn’t the older generations invent freelancing? Gen Z simply found a way to monetize it better.” 6. “Corporate Culture Is the Real Villain.” “It’s not Gen Z ‘ruining’ the workplace-it’s the workplace that’s been the joke for years. KPI-driven micromanagement, overpromising incentives, and ‘team-building activities’ that feel more like a hostage situation. Gen Z is simply holding up a mirror and saying, ‘Let’s not pretend the emperor is wearing clothes.’” So, the next time someone stereotypes Gen Z, perhaps they should look around the office. The truth is, every generation is guilty of a little chaos. Gen Z’s brilliance lies in calling it out-and adding a meme while they’re at it. Corporate culture isn’t crumbling because of Gen Z; it’s evolving. And if that evolution comes with a side of ‘bare minimum Mondays,’ maybe it’s time we all take a hint!”
As a Gen Z going to college this year I’m so so glad that my elder brethren is raising issues that I was scared to face when I enter the workplace. Thank you @AevyTV for bringing this up and giving me hope ❤❤

Ah, the irony of corporate culture labeling Gen Z as the harbingers of workplace chaos! It's amusing, really. Let's unpack this stereotype circus with a dash of reality and a pinch of humor, shall we?"
1. On "Lack of Work Ethic":
Gen Z gets criticized for their ‘quiet quitting’? Funny, because it was the adults of yesteryear who coined terms like 'TGIF' and 'Monday blues'! Let's not pretend that leaving the office at 6 PM sharp is some new-age rebellion. If anything, Gen Z just made a meme out of it-and guess what, memes work faster than motivational posters!"
2.On "Always on Their Phones":
"If scrolling Instagram at workplace is a crime, then the older generations should confess to endless coffee breaks and hours of ‘urgent’ photocopying. At least Gen Z uses their phones to stay updated, whether it’s LinkedIn tips or RUclips tutorials-because who else will fix the printer after it jams for the 100th time?"
3.GenZ on Being too Senstive.
"Calling Gen Z ‘snowflakes’ while older employees crack under the weight of an Excel sheet-oh, the double standards! If prioritizing mental health makes one sensitive, then let’s all agree that burnout culture created by Predecessor generation is the real tantrum-thrower here."
4.On "Obsessed with Social Causes":
"Sure, Gen Z wants sustainable coffee cups and diversity at the table-but is that so bad? Let’s not forget who turned office meetings into environmental disasters with piles of printed agendas. At least Gen Z is trying to save paper while saving the planet!"
5. On "Entitlement":
"They say Gen Z expects promotions too fast. Well, who set the bar by promoting the office gossiper because they were ‘great at networking’? Gen Z’s crime is wanting clear KPIs and fairness-not exactly an unreasonable demand!"
6. On "Preferring Flexibility":
"Remote work was called a 'fad' when Gen Z wanted it. Then the pandemic hit, and suddenly everyone realized that pajama productivity was a thing. Seems like Gen Z was just ahead of the curve-again."
7. On "Building a Personal Brand":
"When Gen Z polishes their LinkedIn, it’s called narcissism. When older generations name their cubicles ‘Boss’s Corner,’ it’s called ambition. Ah, the poetry of corporate hypocrisy!"
8. On "Awkward Face-to-Face Communication":
"So Gen Z prefers Slack and emojis? Fair. But remind me, who invented those cheesy motivational posters with comic sans font? Clearly, communication quirks aren’t generational-they’re universal!"
9.On "Job Hopping":
"Gen Z changes jobs every two years? Hilarious, because the ones complaining about loyalty were the first to jump ship for a 5% raise back in those days. The pot calling the kettle disloyal, isn’t it?"
10. On "Technology Dependence":
"Gen Z Googles for solutions. The older generations, meanwhile, still think calling IT Fellow for a password reset is a valid skill. At least Gen Z solves the problem faster-and without a 30-minute ‘networking break.’"
11. On "Gen Z Humor in the Workplace":
"If Gen Z’s Slack memes disrupt workplace decorum, then explain how karaoke nights and 'Fun Friday' dance-offs were ever considered professional. Humor just evolved; it didn’t vanish!"
"The real joke isn’t Gen Z-it’s the degrading corporate culture that expects enthusiasm for unpaid overtime, delivers generic pep talks, and hands out pizza parties instead of raises.

As a gen z If I am getting paid for 12-14 hours I will think to work but I will choose to work 8 hours only in order to maintain our mental health
You don't run a startup workin 40 hrs a week

During my quarterly review meeting, my manager called me in and talked about how it was wrong to not pick up my higher up's call. First - it was a Saturday. Doesn't matter how important a work call is - I don't see why I have to pick up on a non-working day. Second - there was only one call and no text.

1. We can do 10 hour work in 30 min and dont prefer to ego massage our bosses. Millennials and gen X love to stretch simple work and give bj to their superiors
Exactly, I only agree with the ai thing.

It's like our teachers used to say "I have never had so many problems with previous students"
Seems like it's true for workplaces too
You generalized gen-z by making it about tier1 cities and higher middle class living.
One resigns without another job is because their parents are feeding them without earning. Which is why I hire and train people from tier 3 cities or remote villages. They have more patience and they work hard.
More like they're more slave trainable
I'm Millennial i have worked with GenZ. I have my Quit First job in an MNC to pursue my passion. Thre isn't anything wrong in it. Its all about Age. Freedom to take our own decision.
AI is causing an existential crisis for Generation Z in my social circle by reshaping relationships, introducing uncertainties in the job market, and blurring the lines between virtual and physical connections.
These big corporates who make millions and millions and still pay there workers Penny needed a lesson to be learnt, it was long due, specially in India.
Respect For Your Editing 🥰❤
I thought this will be another genz bashing video but points put across are accurate and logical pointing out the good and the flaws of this generation. I still think we have much more to learn about the changes word is going ever since the pandemic things are moving at a very fast pace is one of the reasons why genz can be labelled as lazy because I don't think previous generation experience that much technological development and overload information which i think is the reason genz motives to be called superficial. That's for my essay great video as usual from Aevy Tv
Who tf says genz doesn't want money .... everybody does want in my opinion!!!
@@santos8146 They have their parents to support them and have less responsibilities and they will realize the worth of money after some time- coming from a Genz
@@santos8146I'm also early 2000s guy and what u said I differ from them I want to manage my daily life and maintain good lifestyle and help father in financial problems such as high loan and day to life goods and medicals ( we are family of 4 ) we know how hard it's for single person to feed 3 persons with other priorities
@@aryanthakkar Yes and no. I'm not talking about money management here. It's all about the mentality that gen z wants to represent. They just want the good side of things and they are willing to do anything for it. And it has nothing to do with work. If they want money, they work. If they hate the work and don't have money, they just get the money as much as possible and quit . That's it. No drama. In short, they don't have dignity of labor rather they respect sense of purpose.
They just don't take things seriously other than their personal wellbeing to the point they are even ready to forgo any marital committments if it doesn't help. Gen Z are not spoiled brat tbh.
And if you don't have any clue about what I'm talking about, sorry buddy you're not gen z at all.
@@santos8146 haha I am a genz dude! And I agree with you to some extent! But let’s come to the reality, this world is extremely volatile and unpredictable rn, the freedom that we want is just a pseudo freedom as we are still controlled by billion dollar companies through social media and technology! And we as genz have received things more easily than our previous generations which has led to this generation being fragile
The skits are just getting better
Love your content guys! been watching since the past year and have fallen in love with it! keep up the good work!
being a genz myself I do despise the majority of the teens my age 💀 hopefully they become mature someday and stop admiring overhyped and expensive things just for aesthetics
We are at a stage where socio-economic development is lopsided. Salaries have not kept pace with the inflations in housings and milennials somewhat know that they can never have the true wealth creation. On the other hand, peple with money from the previous generation are finding it easy to make money.
Exactly! People only know to run their mouth and babble about our shortcomings. But they are not understanding the reality. It is indeed difficult to survive the rat race. So better we'll not step into the race. Create a new course
@@deltasi I feel you. I had quit the rat race. I just didn’t think it is worth all the effort and sacrifice. I decided to do something of my own but realised midway that I need money to sustain, and I am back at the rat race now.
What are your views? I'm yet in college what is the most effortless kind of job that is not known to many?
I think Prioritising health over work is excellent..........
I am proud that atleast we are standing up ........
Upskilling >>>>>>>Overtime..
Company can fire you when financing of company is bad
but upskilling can help you find more jobs..
Watching it a night before my board exam 😂
I work with people who you call as Gen-Z and I have not found anything adverse. I actually admire them. They are outspoken, express themselves better, have clarity of thought on their wants and won'ts and are willing to put their feet down when they are rubbed the wrong way. The don't give f*#k about some peoples misplaced sense of authority. If you give them right sense of purpose, achievement and appreciation without any superficial preaching, they really shine. I like working with them.
Tbh Caring about purpose and climate crises is a luxury for most of indians

In India if We Solve Education 📚 Issue
Most of the Problem will disappear
Here Dipression Starts from Early Childhood because of so much Pressure & way of teaching, what to teach & what not to teach
Many child suffere only because of 2 Language from Nursery
Child who doesn't know what to say, when to say, how to say for basic things - food, washroom, pain, feelings, etc
We are pressuring them to learn 2 languages
Because of this child gets irritated & from early age he/she started to hate every word you say - it doesn't matter what is right or wrong they will oppose it
Then they start to hate education
Many Exam's in early childhood is like hell for them
They start thinking why we have born in this world
& you should know when 5 year's old think about life like that - in which direction we are going
Violence against Children in school, tution, home because of Studies
Government is trying with NEP
But it will take time to implement - 10 - 20 year's
They removed concept of percentage, division
They reduced exam in foundational stage
Slowly - Slowly it will change by Efforts
If local Leader's MP, MLA, Mayor, Panchayat Head do effort things can change very fast
agreed
I remember watching one video where they said how India's cultural system is structured in such a way that it benefits the adults more than the kids
@@kdjoshi726
It not only about design
Societal Structure is like that
It benefits who is Mascular, Rich, who knows how to use brain, Gang or Group
You can take example of Jungle how animals rule each other but we can't judge them as compared to human
Animal doesn't have that much intelligence, they don't have ability to think for future in most cases
But human's have developed this lakhs of year's ago & slowly slowly it improved
Our bharatiya culture almost vanished pain, suffering in society in shiva's era but after sometime people started to become greedy for power, fame, money then discrimination started on the basis of ability, caste, age, gender, etc
What we are seeing today in our culture is orthodox sytem
Where reason, logic is given second position
First position is taken by rituals, belief
By this they doesn't understand what we are doing, why we are doing, is correct in today's time as many situations have changed
You can see that difference in other guru's & Sadhguru
Ho gaya gyan pelke ? itna agar change karna hain toh khud ek step kiyu nahi leti ?Try karo bacho ko padhane ki

I'm 18 years old, and soon, I will be 19. I planned to study and settle abroad as I needed to live a peaceful life rather than dawdling for money.
Gen Z is term jiski kuch na kuch traits aaj ke time pe hum sabke andar hai 15-25 but hum usse dusre pe put on karke gen Z ko gaali dete rehte hai. It's just like double it and give it to the next person 😂
😂😂😂😂 boomers now are 100% like this. They don't attend meetings, even decline cloent meetings, they directly say no to lots of work.
Well done, Achina Mayya. I think you've explained this so well, that this can actually be used by managers and team leaders in organizations. And yes, for GenZ - keep the hustle on!
Are you still studying in college or working? Working more is expected
@@gohan12991 working ...
I work 9 to 5 for my company.
Beyond that I work on myself and polishing my skills.
I love working and learning new things. It's just I do what I enjoy, not only what the job demands.
Genz can set their workplace policies when they successfully set up profitable organisations.. as long as they work at workplaces that were created and made profitable by Millenials
True there should be more companies founded by genZ and it will happen
Gen Z wants a tight slap from their mother to realise that you have to work harder to fulfill your dreams.
Wow Genzs ain't that bad...
They atleast know how to live...
But for what to live...they need to find out
Loved that...agree completely 😂🙌🏻
I quit my job which I like because of pressure without being patient . go to position where u have some leverage . if u cant take it any more then u should have skill
The last comment in the video about loving a 70 hour work week should never be dealt at a workplace, A person can work 40-100 hours a week for himself but for an employer one should never work for more than 40-45 hours without 1.5times of Overtime pay per hour.
l dont know about this generation l born at the same with them but l like to work like hell and always wish to complete my dream thats it , l dont use insta and neither youtube shorts , l believe in self improvements
23:38 she speaks beautifully about what GenX needs to really think about... well done!
*GenZ
Gen Z is the most delulu generation who aren't pratcical
~ as a Gen Z myself
It had already been done in America by millennials problem is slave mindset of india
It's a request @AevyTV , please add a small title or a two line discription with all the resource links provided in the discription.
Your intro in all videos are amazing❤
I'm a Gen Z
I work a 9 to 5 job in Japan.
I come home and build my business.
And I believe at a young age working really hard is a better decision.
If you want work life balance then you don't get to complain that your country is not developing fast enough.
You don't get both the cake and pie.
Make your bed and sleep in it.
Well said 👌🏻
You just proved her point. You don't work a minute beyond 5pm. You ACTUALLY have work life balance, unlike 90% of the population in India.
the editing is really good like top tier!!!!!
My experience with Gen Z
1. No respect for elders
2. No interest in work and always want to hang out and chill
3. Want direct solution n not bothered about the process to get solution
4. Want spoon feeding in everything
5. Want instant results and no patience to achieve something that takes time.
Hippies are back
Intro is as always expected loved it ❤❤❤
I think we're all missing the point. Work should be fun. It shouldn't feel like work. I've noticed this trend thr younger the generation the more time they need to conform to the social norm the more experimental they are (well atleast in potential)😅. The older generations may want to make the younger ones work to their ways without seeing what fresh eyes can bring. If we can make work a science and put past our psychological differences we can do cool stuff.
Im a gen z and I can't find the purpose of my life, i don't know what is that I want to be, now my age is going to be 19, i spend 1 years to find that what's that I want to be, i still can't find the answer 😔😔
Your content and and your way delivering it is absolutely top notch! ❤
Exaclty they want to live in an utopian world
My confusion:
Why did the parents not bring them up to be obedient slaves ?
@@PhenomenalArcturus Is there something wrong with wanting to live in a utopian world. Do think a utopian world is unattainable. Thats a sad way to live

Woooow, What the tale of Gen Z and the ‘Workplace Woes!’ What a comedic masterpiece this has become. It’s amusing how the older generations sit perched on their high horses, sipping nostalgia, while pointing fingers at Gen Z for sins they themselves have quietly perfected over decades.”
1. “Late to Work? Don’t blame the clock; blame the Rigid Attandance culture!”
Funny how people think coming late is a Gen Z trademark. Seems like Gen Z is merely following the timetable of their elders-punctuality redefined!"
2. “Emails with Casual Words? That’s rich!”
“‘Hey folks’ and ‘Just ping me’-classic Gen Z, right? Wrong! I’ve seen enough email threads from every generation peppered with ‘Bro,’ ‘ASAP,’ and ‘LOL.’ The only difference? Gen Z owns it. The rest of you? Masterful at pinching someone through passive-aggressive CCs while typing, ‘Just following up on my earlier email.’ Oh, the art of modern diplomacy!”
3.“The Phone Addiction Accusation-A Screen Generation Blame Game!”
Accusing Gen Z of being glued to their screens is like blaming the river for being wet. Aren’t these devices the very tools created by the Boomers and millennials? And let’s not forget those marathon Candy Crush and WhatsApp status updates from older generation colleagues. It’s a workplace thing, not a generation thing, folks!”
4. "Too Sensitive? Pot, Meet Kettle.”
Ah, sensitivity-the realm where Gen Z is mocked for caring. But wasn’t it your Millennials batch that brought us HR manuals thicker than tax law books because someone was offended by the AC temperature? Let’s be real; the workplace isn’t sensitive because of Gen Z-it’s sensitive because the falling of corporate culture demands it. We're all snowflakes; we’re just in denial.”
5. “Job Hopping and Flexibility-A Generational Myth.”
“Here’s a fun fact: studies show people from every generation job-hop when they can. Why? Because loyalty doesn’t pay the rent. Gen Z just has the guts to say it out loud. Oh, and didn’t the older generations invent freelancing? Gen Z simply found a way to monetize it better.”
6. “Corporate Culture Is the Real Villain.”
“It’s not Gen Z ‘ruining’ the workplace-it’s the workplace that’s been the joke for years. KPI-driven micromanagement, overpromising incentives, and ‘team-building activities’ that feel more like a hostage situation. Gen Z is simply holding up a mirror and saying, ‘Let’s not pretend the emperor is wearing clothes.’”
So, the next time someone stereotypes Gen Z, perhaps they should look around the office.
