I work as a Writer and Content Strategist.Four years ago, I was jobless, holding an Engineering degree that seemed useless. I come from a village in Karnataka, far from any Tier 1 or Tier 2 city, and struggled to form a sentence in English. Desperate for any job, I was trying everything. Then COVID hit. That pause was a game-changer, helping me realize what I truly wanted to do. I wanted a job in the creative field because I love consuming media and writing. During COVID, I spent my time watching movies and writing reviews. I built a blog on WordPress and started posting my reviews, all from my phone, as I didn’t have a laptop.I applied for writer roles everywhere. Someone saw my blog posts and liked my assignment. That was enough for them to hire me, and I landed my first job in the field I genuinely wanted to work in. Every day since has been fun and fulfilling. After landing my first job, I set two goals for myself: improve my English and master writing. I have come a long way since then and continue to enjoy the journey.

middle class, had a low end laptop in the house.
My story :- during covid started learning python and programming languages as hobby and it grove into a passion, And today I applied for an internship (unpaid) for backend engineer and got selected, I did this for to gain experience and nobody in my college is as skilled as me, why I am sharing this because whatever it is told in video is absolute truth. Work on your passion, make good projects, And to be honest I never knew I could build a career in it, I code because it makes me feel alive and it feels cool, I kinda like addicted to it. @@xxxyyyyzzzzzzz if you are doing engineering you already have the basics done. I would suggest do certifications such as Comptia Security + and CYSA+ these are very vast and help you gain deep understanding. in order to be a Security Researcher you need to have a very good skills in OS, Networking, Osint, Assembly and even Reverse Engineering. its a long learning process so you don't have to rush at all.
I am not gonna lie you have to really worship hard work to be a Security Researcher because motivation comes harly when you trying to understand a malware that's hacking half the world and you have no idea what it does, how it does and how can you save your ass from being hacked.

IIT Passout in 2023 here. Finally landed job as a graphic designer beczo i wanted to make a career in arts and stuff and getting career started from graphic designing was the most accesible option. I made a lot of mistake applying for jobs in start and that always happens to everyone its a trial and error learning thing. But even when I got most things ie CV, linkedin profile right, it took me in total 1300+ applications over like 6-7 months of continuous applying and only experience being a design intern (which also took several hundred applications to land). In short, applying to job like theres no tomorrow helped me to finally land this one job. pay still isnt great but it is something. So thing for me which helped most in landing job was relentless applying to whatever form i see fit. Just by the sheer law of probability and statistics whatever i did land a job. Applying on jobs without prior experience is absolute nightmare.
I really advice anyone who is reading this to take up multiple intern experiences as well that will help you A LOT in job landing.
    And Good Luck as well.

There's one more crucial aspect of education: research. If we solely focus on job placement, we neglect research and development (R&D). Let's consider this video: everyone might get a job initially, but eventually, demand and supply will stabilize, leading to a surplus of skilled workers and fewer jobs. Therefore, an education system that prioritizes R&D would be more beneficial.
Secondly, while established career paths like video editor and software developer are valuable, our focus shouldn't be limited to them. People should be encouraged to build, not just software, but also hardware. Exploring platforms like Arduino and creating medical equipment with it any other things can foster these skills. Because of AI, In future we definitely need people who are skilled in hardware rather then software of any other creative field.

    • @rhyperionmaths7076
      @rhyperionmaths7076 3 месяца назад +5

The minus point of this kind of education system is that everyone is not made to do R&D. An Education system like this will be a hell for students who don't want to a part of it. R&D should encourage a lot I agree but it should not be forced on students through the system. We already had some chapters in class 10th maths which no use for most of the population but very useful for those who persue engineering or scientific field. There is improvement in the system but the ones doing all the work should be praised not the higher ups. So whenever you see a great achievement, I want you to do some research and find the person behind this, and not give credit to company as a whole..

      1. people are not made who are studying in iits after cracking jee adv, i will not talk about skill for now.
      2. If a company is new then hiring iitians help to improve their name in market or getting funding.
      3. people on top position are generally iitians so offcoruce they will prefer their college more, and iitans can get connection to land a job very easily like their senior's referal etc. You can't do that very easily as you are not iitan.
      4. Comapny can use the connection or networks of these iitians in future if they needed.
      5. And, IITs have option for internship in college.
      6. And see if company is in critical condition or deadline, these iitians have mindset and harworking nature that helps the companies not to fuck up where they could have.
      7. IITians are generally very good followers, they have followed their teacher during preparation time very hard and if you have opened your company then you just need some people who have experience in that sector and people who will follow that experienced man.
      8. IItians are generally very versatile in nature as compared to any other college students, kisi bhi project me daal do.
      9. Generally freshers don't have much to show in their portfolio, so if they use something like i'm from iit or iim etc helps you a lot
      10. Its easier to manager them as do their work without much warnings, I think so. I have seen some meme or post in social media like hr wrting some warning to its employee that don;t use office internet to scroll instagram or to do time pass in office, i can deferentially say that employee might not iitian

My elder brother who is a passout from IIT Roorkee stresses on the fact that if you are confused and have no clue the best thing to do right now is engineering(from a decent college) most of the students don't even end up grabbing a engineering role in a company but a good college is where you'd have like minded people and the resources for extracurriculars clubs allowing you to explore other fields while getting immense security. If you think you can, get into a tier-1/good college then do whatever miss achina siggested us to, if you can't then start it right away.

This skill will help them land a job where they can finally meet some like minded people and hence build a network..

And we are not even taught what's necessary of our job and live ahead anyways, I am a btech grad and what I have heard all through my 4yr degree is how btech is a steppingstone towards a lot of other careers, then my biggest question is what about engineering? You are too proud of how it'll help people get to a different field you stopped realizing how btech is a course of engineering. This is especially the case with btech, but there are a lot more courses like this. The education system is BS, it's ancient, it's flawed and more importantly it's freaking corrupt. No one wanna change it and no one wanna make an effort of the next generation.

If you look at the indoctrination of this ‘predictability model’, you mentioned is fairly and largely coherent and hard to accept.
“Shouldn’t our schools focus more on this skill development model”, well tbh this is a major problem and now with passage of time people often suggest to use technology to shape your skills in the right direction, but is this feasible, given the volume of the syllabi(particularly suggesting the CISCE board’s wherein you have to study three different English literature books and another one concerned with language- just quoting an example)?
We need to focus on every element needed in schools, and everyone’s aware of this.
Nonetheless, the education department doesn’t care about the students (which is very well depicted in the current scenario), I guess it’s better to focus on preludes than to flounder on denouements(I mean it’s better to focus on initial stages of development than on the conclusions directly)…
Well, I know this might not help anyone, but still writing this would surely leave some great add-ons in furtherance by some great minds, deducing the solution!!

I run a startup. While hiring freshers, we often find that they have no skills that can be commuted to productive work. Most early stage companies do not want to waste money training a fresher on basic things and established companies have enough experienced people to choose from.
This is how you can break through this chicken egg problem:
      1. Unpaid internships, as awful as they might sound are your golden ticket.
      2. Write to any founder/member of an early stage startup, and offer them free work in exchange of experience.
      3. A lot of founders might make you do unproductive, skill-less work. Leave these organizations asap and find a better one.
      4. Find your calling, try staying in your home city or work from home to save money, upgrade your skills and get experience in your CV.
Note: Any other economy or any other times, I would have suggested against taking unpaid work. But times are desperate in India and unfortunately to out stand insane competition, this is a strategy that always works.
If you bombard 10 early stage startups, I guarantee you at least 2-3 will respond.

Most Indians aren't skilled enough. Also they are a bit lazy too. By lazy I don't mean they don't work hard or something. I mean people don't want to put extra efforts to go out of the box or find something which will eventually generate jobs. In india people want job security, sustainable and safe life. Government plays an important role as well. But we are ones who choose the government. If people starts to question them, before they vote. Half of the problems will be solved.

    Remember 3 basic rules, always:
    1) Supply and demand: if everyone does the same thing u do, you're expendable, not valuable
    2) If you ever work under others, you will never get the deserved recognition for it, you are just a tool that's exploited and thrown away when you don't have any use.
3)Education system is designed to produce efficient labour, that has been brainwashed to obey instead of questioning. Been that way since the Industrial Revolution. Normally, you do not get a fraction of the results you expect after sacrificing so much of your years, money, and important parts of your daily life you never get back.
A question arises, is it all really worth it?🤔

It's a youtube channel where they hire editors who themselves learned stuff from RUclips only.
No hate to her but I don't think what she have done or achieved in her life is enough to give us GYAAN about such important stuff.
The curriculum for Engineering(as I am a civil engineer) is very tedious but it is important too and to get an edge over others you have to learn more stuff in ur free time and not partying or hanging out with your friends. Those who don't work hard end up dissing their college and "education system", which is lazy. Just ask any engineer who has ever worked in their field, what subject they want to eliminate from the curriculum? The answer would be none.
As a student or parents we have to understand and maybe forecast the skills which should be needed in future and have work to achieve it.
If we are not able to understand that there are less jobs in core branches and u end up taking them then no one can help u. We have to research about such important decisions in our life or keep blaming others.
P.s- I am totally against our government for not being able to conduct such important exams with such negligence.

They replied by saying "Kahi bhi rakho, bas yahan nahi". Sounds normal right? But what they actually meant was you are not allowed to put your bag anywhere in the college. You'll have to put it somewhere outside. I went there alone, I didn't know anyone there. And I was supposed to put my bag, purse, and phone in some random location. And it wasn't just for me all of the students had to face the same problem.
After searching for a suitable place I found a shop where I kept my belongings. Some students put their bags with all their belongings under trees next to some closed coffee shops. I find it amusing how they can hold an examination in a college but can't even arrange for a safe place where we could put our belongings. I felt really humiliated that day. There even were some allegations that there are seats that are being sold also for the same entrance exam.

Get into any college and do the easiest degree you can. On the side learn video editing skills/ other skills in demand. Build a portfolio- think how do I sell myself? Get the degree and 3 years of work ex. Work on your communication skills. Find people (millennials are best because they are the ones making hiring decisions now) make connections and get advice on how to prep for interviews and negotiate a salary. Apply for jobs in industry of your work ex. Get a job. Stay there for 2 years. You’re set.
Have a great professional social media presence. AI can help you set everything up.. RUclips can teach you anything.

You just need to get a degree… no one checks your marks. Never go for a masters without working in some field after bachelors

With 9years of experience, I have learned one key thing that is a golden rule to skill up, learn more, advance more and maybe get ahead, “Speak least among all people of your team and hear almost everyone in your office”. People love to share. More than love, I think the way world is right now, people are dying to talk out there. Need someone to listen to them while they just talk about anything. If u can become a good listener, believe me, everyone teaches u something genius.

Isn’t this applicable to unemployed people with a UG as well?! 26-27 year olds

I got my first job by having a simple conversation with the hiring person. Also, a tip to freshers, just connect with placement companies not indeed or LinkedIn, just a local hiring company and they will help you share the details of hiring companies. Don't just rely on online job interviews, just show up on a walk in and grab the opportunity. All the best folks.❤
