Used this list last night at FNM and crushed with it. I also added a Star of Extinction to the main and set up a sideboard to swap with a boros angels shell. Dimir Control, Golgari, Selesnya Tokens and Sultai Control all fought bravely and got pooped on.
Nice deck but if you swap in Resplendent Angel it will take it to the next level. With all the lifelink you have it will create a lot of 4/4 flying angels which your Lyra will buff with lifelink and continue to proc the Resplendent Angel. If I had to make a recommendation I would say drop down to 2x fountain of renewal and 2x dawn of hope/revitalize. Either that or just sub your 2x lyra for 2x resplendent and leave the rest as is. Also with all of those dawn of hopes in play you should consider finding a place for divine visitation, as any time your in a bind you can 4 cast a 4/4 flyer that cant be countered. Its a nice tool vs heavy control decks. On second thought taking both things into account I would probably do: Sub 2x lyra for 2x resplendent Sub 2x fountain of renewal for 2x divine visitation Should give you a reliable source of 4/4 flyers to account for the lack of creature spells in the deck. It will be a slow ramp up but when you get there its game over.
If anyone can answer, I'm gonna build this deck in paper and need a sideboard. What cards would make a good sideboard, no matter the local meta. Also, would Leonin Warleader be a decent replacement for lyra?
You mention the only planeswalkers in RW being Karn and Huatli, but wouldn't Jaya be ok [for the loot] if not a little difficult to cast with our lean toward white?
Yes and no, we're not getting a ton of lands from Settle as we're creature light and a single Banefire is unlikely to be enough. It could be reasonable alongside a transformational creature plan, if we can deal the first 10 points with creatures and other burn spells.
I think your attacks at the end were a bit cheeky. Given his intense investment in his graveyard, his might well have run the hasty undergrowth thing. Nice deck idea though!
Those will be rough even after sideboard, but a transformational plan with e.g. Adanto Vanguards and History of Benalia could work depending on what removal they have. Sorcerous Spyglass to shut down specific Planeswalkers is also an option.
The weekly series were discontinued, but now I have more freedom on what and when to upload. Can still expect weekly Modern, Standard, Draft and starter deck upgrade videos for the time being ;)
I think most beginners are not going to jump into best of three from the start, so I'm trying to cater to that audience a little more. There will still be plenty of content that will be best of three, especially in the long term.
Intervention is technically dealing 9 dmg for 10 mana since it has to have firesong card out. And 9 dmg and some lifegain for 10 mana under 2 turns sounds pretty awful
This was my thought exactly when he said 9 for 4 mana. Although this deck can get to 10 mana pretty well. Its a fun themed deck, part of the joy of MTG. You do not have to play a meta crusher to have fun :)
There is no merit in winning against opponents that clearly don't have all the good cards unlocked. Boring to watch expecting you to have a bad hand and see things getting interesting. This game is disgustingly pay to win.

I don't have any firesong, But i do have 4x Divine Intervention, and that makes for a funny control deck with this build

I always run 3-4 lightning mares and 1-2 banefires in the sideboard of my red decks to punish blue control xp

Yeah definitely possible, although I don't think that card is great and haven't seen it played yet.

Is scavenger grounds still around as an answer to graveyard strategies, which abound with surveil and undergrowth? If so, might be worth running.

Silent Gravestone from RIX can handle the graveyard threats.
Remorseful Cleric from M19, could work also.
