I love conch fritters, I have a Trini neighbour - we all call her Aunty - she cooks some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Even though the pandemic has prevented us from visiting each other as frequently, she still checks on all of us and brings us food.

I notice that other country's don't really pound the conch meat before cooking but in St. Vincent that what we do and it makes the conch cook a lot faster.

Just came across ur video. I am a Belizean and we make conch fritter or Flittas as we call it and conch soup. For the fritter. We grind up the conch with onion, habanero pepper, sweet pepper and cilantro with culantro. Empty in a bowl. Add flour and baking powder little salt and we fry it. Use the pit spoon as ur measurement when u fry to guide u. Eat and enjoy omg. TALK ABOUT HEAVEN. it goes good too with Creole bread or ur trini hops bread. The soup that's a whole other ball game. Love ur recipe too.
CONGRATS on the 200.. here's to 200 more!

Thanks Aunty! Glad you like the video. Yes it is a bit difficult and tough to clean. Thanks for watching!
Taste of Trini ,
Never had lambie it looks delicious
Hey resh jus checked the lambi video... thanks again I’ll be trying this soon
Taste of Trini , Looks delicious .
Thank you, auntie
I made mine sous vide in my precision cooker n it was tender n delicious.
Would love to try it in any Montreal restaurants. Very different from the way Haitians prepare. We put salt totally at the end. We use lemon, lime some vinegar as well as flour to clean the lambis. Cook them until The meat is soften. Add tomate paste for some color then garnish with soft peppers. Serve with white rice and fried plantain. Delicious if you can find a person who knows how to prepare it. Cheers from Montreal.
doh mind it looking good gul!
I heard bay (not sure of the spelling) leaves flavour the pot very nicely especially in stew chicken you should try it sometime love your videos btw❤❤❤❤

veshmah Lalwah Nice, enjoy your long weekend and cook up a storm!
In St.kitts we call it Conch. The small one you showed we call those Sea Snails and some of those can be fairly big like a big Onion as well. Often we cook the Conch in a pressure cooker since its quite tough. But when its cooked its damn tasty.
+Ardent Dfender Yes it's like a snail, that's why I never liked it lol Yeah I find it gets nice and tender when cooked in the pressure cooker. Thanks for watching!
u have made everything time to make. Italian dishes
Brandon Sooklal roll on to an italian channel. This is all trini bro
Hi Taste of Trini. Congratulations on your 200th video. I am a Trinbagonian. But I am residing elsewhere where the national dish is conch. Yes it is pronounced "konks".
Delish🔥
Main ingredient to give it that real West Indian flavor is coconut milk, looks delicious! I wash with flour too, but also add a little salt. Don't know the real reason for salt, maybe it preserve it a bit before being cooked, well that's what I learnt from my mom!
I very interested in an enhanced flavour of conchs. Does pressure-cooking affect the flavour?
I'm in New York, where did you buy the sea conchs?
never ate sea conch, love river ones with dasheen bush, looks real good
Nice! I will do a video with the river ones when I go back to Trinidad.
Sea conch fried (cracked conch) is Delish!!! #BahamianCulture
Hi never had it before, look delicious, where can I pick up the conch here in Queens NY, thanks.
I get it at Fish World- look for Belize Conch...and Fish Markets on Jamaica Ave as well.
Did you get these to buy in Trinidad ?
I made souse with uncooked Lambie which was delightful and tender.
Can you do this style?
Hi ..where did you go to catch conchs???
Omg love curry lambie # conch
I’m so hungry now. !!
In St.lucia we grill it on a charcoal bbq🇱🇨
THE PRESENTATION OF YOUR RECIPE IS JUST GREAT ;;;; BUT I NEVER EAT THAT OR CRAYFISH OR CRAB IT LOOKS GOOD ;; DO YOU COOK ANY THING BUT INDIAN FOOD I LIKE TO KNOW ;;;;
i usually cook it with basheen bush baggie for sada roti or if I'm currying it like u did I add coconut milk.
Nice, have to try that next time.
M3L!SSA _G oh god yes
in Mauritius we call it sea cucumber ,I shall try it
Nice!
Do you have to put it in the pressure cooker
Hey, no you don't.
Hello, would you mind telling me what brand of curry/turmeric you use? I find the brand I buy has a bad taste.
Hi, I used Taj Madras Curry or Cariherb Curry
Taste of Trini Hey R, what do u think about Kala curry?
Astral Princess kala brand curry is also made by chief is really good to used just like the taj curry that r mentioned but you would still have to get the duck and goat spicy brand for goat and layers home fowl etc.
Astral Princess Yes that's a great curry as well.
Neppywise For turmeric, chief brand is good
where are you now!
where to get conchs in north America?
In the fish markets, look for Belize Conch. In West Indian markets you will find the river conchs as well
ok
The conch you don't over cook it that I what you say lambie it take about 15 min to cook nice and soft not rubber thrust me try it
ah think you should boil it then skin it!
Hi, i loveeeeeeee your videos. I made all my prysad sweets from them. You are beautiful and please let me know when you decide on your meet and greet. And I thought you had a baby? Love your cooking.
Thank you!! Glad you enjoy! I will let you know. Nope, I didn't have a baby.
I don't normally cook curry like that .. normally I burn in first with oil ...
this woman on fb lol
Haitians say Lambi and this dish isn't easy to make you don't want it too tuff and chewy
Omg this video makes me home sick even though I’m not from the Caribbean but my parents are 🇬🇩 and 🇹🇹
I been back to TNT over 5 times never herd of anyone talking about this food, or selling it at the market, I don't think my family eats it, even if I want to try it, I don't even think I can get that here in Los Angeles.
jason4275 this type of counch is mostly sold frozen at hilo tru value or even price mart i have seen it.
jason4275 Yes you will get it there. Go to the fish markets, you'll either get it fresh or frozen.
You're missing the most important part, you have to pound it first then cut it up this helps with the cooking .
You did not answer my comment? I am from Grenada and we get a lot of conch there. NP answering .
The plural for conch is conch not conchs.
It is not laMbie it is Lanbi. You don't prononce the M. This word is an French creole word as once, the national langiage in Trini was French Creole.
Thanks for clarifying that, much appreciated!
did u just put flower to mask the smell u serious woowww lollll im disliking this for that reason sorrry lollll :)
kuberan peranandan Have you ever heard of flour (not flower) being used to wash meats and seafood? It takes the slimy membrane out of meats, and prevents the strong odor.
excuse my spelling mistake i just make conch salad i enjoy it
