I have the 19x and I use a rat tail file on the magazines that won't fit the 19x to make a groove for the lanyard loop to fit the magazine. Easy peasy and the mags work.
I ccw the 19x with flush fit mag. Love it. Full grip and the shorter barrel and slide makes target transitions quicker and draw as well. At least it feels that way. I just run the stock night sights. Gun is incredibly accurate and trigger is better than my other glocks.
The metric 13.5 left hand threads are superior, especially for pistol use. The 1/2x28 threads are actually not that well defined, so some dimensions are left up to each manufacturer to decide, which leads to incensistencies. And with left hand threads you tighten the suppressor on the gun, while trafitional right hand threads are unscrewing themselves since they go in the same direction as the rifling in the barrel. Thus, better definition spec and correct threading direction make M13.5 the superior thread for 9mm pistol use. 1/2x28 is inferior and only keeps on kicking because it's already popular, not because it's good.
I have the original 19x and I still love it. I did get it milled for an optic, etc. which you won’t have to do with this. Although, I think I’d rather my slide milled for a specific optic rather than the plate system.
I just built a supressor host of a PSA Dagger frame and then a threaded complete upper with RMR Co witness and a standard unthreaded upper. Added nice sightsfor the upper and trigger upgrade and a couple Glock OEM parts. I probably have $500 in total for a nice beater setup.
Absolutely love my original Glock 19X... it's still totally stock except a et of Handle it Grips. It's been my main side arm when in the outdoors, hunting, camping etc... I conceal carry it fairly regularly as well. I'd definitely trust my life to it. Really cool to see Glock update this pistol, but if only I could find one! Awesome video Mike! Hope you're doing good.
I like the Gen 5 slide finish in general, but the 19x’s metallic finish has the added benefit that, if you get a chip in the surface, the white metal kind of blends in
Thank you for the review. I am looking to buy another Glock and I have been looking primarily at the G34 and your comment about having reliability issues with the G34 has given me pause. I need to go look at your video about the G34. I already have a G19 Gen4 MOS with an aftermarket threaded barrel, so I really don't need another one. Again, thank you for the review. It was hugely informative in more ways than one.

Looks like a great handgun overall. I like my G47 with Holosun SCS just fine though. It's a tad bigger than the G19 but I'm 6'4" so it's not too hard to conceal.
@Frank-uw5xq it's a tad different in that it doesn't have "shake awake" but is instead just left turned on. The solar panels recharge the battery. Technically, the battery has a 20K hour lifespan if just left on but with the recharge capability, it idealy should last several times longer. The main thing that i like about the SCS is how low it sits in the slide. The green dot and factory height iron sights co-witness so no need to install taller iron sights or just outright block the iron sights and rely entirely on the optic. It's my first and only pistol optic but thus far, I like it. If there are any cons with it, they might be that the window is a tad small and the laser emitter isn't enclosed.
If u own a 19 already go buy a 47 like I did and make any combo u like. Threaded barrel and suppressor sights aren't worth the extra coin, unless you're in love with the finish
I'll be honest. In my case I liked the paint job better. Every Glock I had ever seen new or bought was Black up until the 19x and I just liked the color a lot more. 19 round mags are a plus but of course the G45 can take those too. What's even more shameful in my case is the G45 is and was cheaper than the 19x as well. Not many will admit that here but I guarantee that's why the 19x outsells it and why it's more expensive due to demand even though with the G45, like you said, you don't have to deal with the magazine issue and you get slide serrations up front. I am pretty sure internally they are the same so the G45 truly is the better pistol unless there is something I am missing.
I own both the G45 and 19X and I prefer the G45 because of the lanyard loop on the 19x BUT I like the color of the 19X .. so I cut off the lanyard loop on the X and now use my older G17 mags

I just bought a G34, Gen 5, MOS, but I am super interested in the new G19x Gen 5 MOS. I really like that it comes with a threaded barrel. I like to use silencers on my pistols. Being able to get a Glock threaded barrel and not having to buy an after-market barrel is awesome. I really appreciate you telling us about the magazines and how Gen 5 mags won’t work in the G19x. I only have three Gen 5 mags, which came with the G34. If I buy more mags, I really need to look at getting the G19x 19 rd mags, which I presume will work in any standard Glock. Concerning MOS plates, my new G34 came with only the one RMR patterned plate. I bought a Vortex Defender XL optic, and it comes with the MOS plate for Glocks. What is really nice is the Vortex MOS plate is fitted so that there is no space between the front of the optic and the slide. I have not tried a Glock performance trigger, but all of the Glock triggers I have had I have changed out. My new favorite trigger is the Timney Alpha Competition trigger. It is a little light for a carry gun, but if you do what you are supposed to and “keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire,” it shouldn’t be a problem. Thank you for reviewing the G19x. It was really informative.
@@MDpolo The G19X hands down. The reason is compatibility and versatility. Anything that will work with a G19 and G45 will work with the G19X. There is just more "stuff" that will work with the G19X. The G19X has greater versatility because of its size and because there is more "stuff" for it. Only thing I am not a fan of is that the thread protector is larger than the diameter of the barrel. Makes an extra step to dissassemble the firearm, which is the exact process when most people would be likely to damage those threads. For example the Beretta M9A3 and M9A4 use a thread protector that is the same diameter as the barrel so you dont have to take it off to dissassemble. I'm sure there are other examples that also use this method. Is it a small issue? Yes, but for the price of the thing, its definitely something they could have sorted out.
So, in order to answer your question: is it the best Glock ever in your opinion ? What are all the differences in detail between the Glock 45 MOS and the Glock 19X MOS ? Would love an in-depth "versus" video between these two Glock models !
I am more partial to my Gen IV Glock 20 milled for a Holosun 509T, but 10mm is just my boo. As 9mms go, the Glock 19, 19X, and 45 are all on the short list of elite tier 9mm pistols.
Im 34 been shooting since 10, owned a gun Charter Arms AR-7 since 16, at 18 purchased my first rifle bushmaster acr which lived in my vehicle just like my friends in high-school so we could go shooting or hunting at lunch occasionally and legally, got my first pistol at 21 a Taurus pt-809? Because I'm 6ft3 and it looked like a midsize pistol and concealed fine on my slimness in fitted clothes, ive owned a couple to a few hundred guns yet i have never owned any Glock. 😅 Ive known the history of glock since at least middle school because i loved firearms and and knowing as much as i could learn. Just never makes sense to me to spend that kind of money on a gun that quite literally was designed to be the cheapest rapidly producable pistol possible. It just feels like owning a $1,000 HI-Point 🤣 ive never owned one of those either but for different reasons. If a Glock was half the price i would probably purchase it based on its reliability, but if im willing to spend whatever then im going to pick so many other pistols or even revolvers over it.
Love my 19x. Except i have the version without optic cuts on the slide. Of course not long after i got an aftermarket slide this comes out. Dammit!!! Lol
I got mine about a week ago. Got 600 rds through it. Love everything except the sights. They are way off. About a 1-1/2’ down and to the left at 20 yards. I knocked the rear sight over and it got better, but I still have to hold up about 1/2 way on the front sight. Really weird, any ideas?
I like the p365 series of pistols and variety’s ..but the sig p320 I’ll never understand how that gun won over the 19x ..I hate p320 owned a few and had nothing but trouble out of all of em ..traded em off …I’ve never had to send a Glock back …it all came down to cost for that army contract ..
Fought the plastic gun phase until the 80s. Now I’ve been using them since the 1990. They’re more than acceptable for a tool. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
$5 says I could take a screwdriver and pry out the little bar from the slide in less than 5 seconds. That gun lock looks really silly to me. Maybe it is tougher than it looks.
It has the same issue as the "Smart Gun": It's for someone who thinks unauthorized _use_ is a real threat, but for some inane reason is perfectly OK with someone *stealing* the gun and taking his time figuring it out. The whole premise is absurd. What kind of intruder is both A. willing and intent on murdering a homeowner, but also B. unarmed and bases his whole plan on finding and using the homeowner's gun? Or, if you think a kid is going to access it, he can point it at his sister, bring it to school, etc. etc. as long as he doesn't shoot anyone immediately after picking it up. Edited to add: on a Glock specifically, the part where it installs is nonstructural plastic and can be pried down or even cut off without disabling the pistol, even if the lock itself retains perfect integrity. Let's assume the biometrics are perfect (they never either activate for unauthorized users, or fail to activate for authorized users). Those same biometrics would be much better applied to a holster-type safe to physically restrain the pistol.
The B.O.S. Lock exceeds the pinnacle standards set by the California Department of Justice (CA DOJ), including rigorous tensile tests and tamper tests. Our device features a hardened, Nitride, and Diamond-Like Carbon-coated arm, making it highly cut-resistant. B.O.S. Lock is designed to be tamper proof and cannot be removed using any household tool. It requires our patented and proprietary installation tool for removal. We would be happy to share the testing standards or the link to our certification on the CA DOJ website.
Same reason m-lok exists, a closer more slim profile. milling a pistol to a 1913 rail would put the optic too high because the optic would need a mount at the bottom to interface with the 1913 mount..it’s just unnecessary. I dunno if you have shot a pistol with a red dot but the lower you can get the red dot the better
Mike I know you have that streamlight hl-6 review/comparison coming right? I gave my old man my hl-5 and can't make a decision on which to order until you give me the ok👌🏻😂
C&H Precision plates with the t inserts work better than the glock RMR plate. If you actually want to co-witness lower 1/3rd you have to get a Trigicon RMR.

Thanks
Thank you!
Yes it is! I love it!
I am not really sure why they do not just make the G45 MOS in coyote. Same pistol basically except with the ability to accept gen 5 mags.
I want this exact gun but with a 19 size grip. A peanut butter gen5 19 threaded Mos
Sig proved that Big Army gives no shits about its men.
Price is what matters right?
Hrmmmm BOS lock looks like it had potential 🤔
Only thing I am not a fan of is that the thread protector is larger than the diameter of the barrel. Makes an extra step to dissassemble the firearm, which is the exact process when most people would be likely to damage those threads. For example the Beretta M9A3 and M9A4 use a thread protector that is the same diameter as the barrel so you dont have to take it off to dissassemble. I'm sure there are other examples that also use this method. Is it a small issue? Yes, but for the price of the thing, its definitely something they could have sorted out.
GLock says....WTF is a malfunction ? Good review.
So, in order to answer your question: is it the best Glock ever in your opinion ?
What are all the differences in detail between the Glock 45 MOS and the Glock 19X MOS ?
Would love an in-depth "versus" video between these two Glock models !
Duly noted
Thank you Sir
Have a standard 19X and love it but definitely wanting a MOS 19X but probably be months to get one ?
I am more partial to my Gen IV Glock 20 milled for a Holosun 509T, but 10mm is just my boo.
As 9mms go, the Glock 19, 19X, and 45 are all on the short list of elite tier 9mm pistols.
🇺🇸
Anyone know if the Trijicon RCR will mount to this with the rmr plate?
Glock "perfection, until more perfect"
Thats a nice background you got there sir.
Thank you
Im 34 been shooting since 10, owned a gun Charter Arms AR-7 since 16, at 18 purchased my first rifle bushmaster acr which lived in my vehicle just like my friends in high-school so we could go shooting or hunting at lunch occasionally and legally, got my first pistol at 21 a Taurus pt-809? Because I'm 6ft3 and it looked like a midsize pistol and concealed fine on my slimness in fitted clothes, ive owned a couple to a few hundred guns yet i have never owned any Glock. 😅
Ive known the history of glock since at least middle school because i loved firearms and and knowing as much as i could learn.
I wish Glock would make a 357Sig like this.
Ditto
Why does Glock keep adding $100 for an optic cut when basically every other major pistol manufacturer includes it as standard feature these days?
Love my 19x. Except i have the version without optic cuts on the slide. Of course not long after i got an aftermarket slide this comes out. Dammit!!! Lol
I got mine about a week ago. Got 600 rds through it. Love everything except the sights. They are way off. About a 1-1/2’ down and to the left at 20 yards. I knocked the rear sight over and it got better, but I still have to hold up about 1/2 way on the front sight. Really weird, any ideas?
thanks for the report
I like the p365 series of pistols and variety’s ..but the sig p320 I’ll never understand how that gun won over the 19x ..I hate p320 owned a few and had nothing but trouble out of all of em ..traded em off …I’ve never had to send a Glock back …it all came down to cost for that army contract ..
Thank you
Fought the plastic gun phase until the 80s. Now I’ve been using them since the 1990. They’re more than acceptable for a tool. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
Every 19 is the best glock ever.
$5 says I could take a screwdriver and pry out the little bar from the slide in less than 5 seconds. That gun lock looks really silly to me. Maybe it is tougher than it looks.
Try it and post it
It has the same issue as the "Smart Gun": It's for someone who thinks unauthorized _use_ is a real threat, but for some inane reason is perfectly OK with someone *stealing* the gun and taking his time figuring it out.
@@BOS_LOCK I will take your word for it. That might be a good idea for a video showing it off. Have someone try to pry up the bar.
bought a glock 21 in 1994; it has never malfed; that is all i can say.
Wish they made a 10mm version…
Just a thought, why can't anyone mill out the slide to a 1913 rail seems like a no brainer. Maybe I just invented that?
Mill the slide for a 1913 rail huh?
Maybe re read your comment and maybe you'll see how much sense it doesn't make.
So you’re stupid?
Still surprised 19x doesn’t have front serrations but the 45 does.
“Meet the new Glock… same as the old Glock”
-The Who, 1971
😂
Crazy how someone dying (rhymes with Smaston Block) leads to new models coming out.
Indeed
I own a g45 and I love it but still carry a sig. Man I fell out on the mullet gun comment. 😂😂👍
Grabbed mine from Sportsman’s Warehouse for $683, which is a pretty good deal.
Nice! I paid 750 for mine 😅
nice
I’ve chopped the lip off of both my 19x
The rest is good to go
Same
They need to get rid of the tab at the bottom of the grip so it accepts Gen5 mags, and then it would be perfect.
Thank you
The 19x: The apology model.
Is factory option or dealer customs?
Nice pistol & watch
I would buy one, but I don’t think they have the breach face notch like the other Gen 5s have for great ejection.
