Ok folks so I thought this was the first time I had heard this song, I just didn't remember the verses, the hook got me, so in essence I heard Jimmy Barnes years ago and didn't realize who i was hearing. and I love INXS so there's that.

This is a cover version of the 1960’s Easybeats song. One of the Easybeat’s guitarists is an older brother of Malcolm and Angus Young (of AC/DC). George Young and his fellow Easybeats guitarist Harry Vanda are the producers of AC/DC’s early albums including the one that features A Long Way to the Top.
The Australian music scene was small and very interrelated back then but you gotta admit…it punches above its weight.

INXS weren't the same without Michael. They're our greatest export as far as music goes. Absolute best live band on the planet in their prime. It takes a special voice to sit there and go toe to toe with Jimmy. Michael does it. John Farnham does it. Tina Turner does it, Ian Moss does it. Jon Bon Jovi tried (this song) and failed.

If you want connections with this song .....it is written by Harry Vanda and George Young [ yes Malcolm & Angus Young from AC/DC fame's older brother ] Harry & George were foundation members of The Easybeats............AND the Harry and George mentioned in Dire Straits' 'Sultan's of Swing' is a nod to Harry Vanda and George Young as a group [Vanda and Young ] and song-writing team. We have a very deep music history that not many outside Australia get to know much about. As so many have said here - we kept the best to ourselves :)
