Love INXS and Jimmy. Michael Hutchence loved Jimmy so much INXS were a huge Australian band. Michael was a phenomenal frontman I love all INXS songs but their song suicide blonde is my favourite (supposedly written about Michael’s girlfriend at the time another famous Aussie singer Kylie Minogue). RIP Michael Hutchence
Funny you mentioned The Saints - because Chris Baily from the Saints was on stage for this song. Also there was Chrissy Amphlett from The Divinyls. You've got to check out their track 'Boys in Town' - criminal you haven't already seen it yet - will blow you away.
Well said. Audio not great on recording their microphones because could not hear their voice in this video, despite seeing them on stage there. Who was the other guy on stage? Was that the guy from Uncanny X-Men?
Yes you were on the right track mate. It's a late 1960's song. Originally released was by the Easybeats arguably Australia's first international rock band. It was written by Harry Vanda and George Young. They were big in the UK and Europe in the 60's they were Australia's most successful songwriters and record producers. The wrote for the Easybeats and the Easybeats front man Stevie Wright after they broke up as well as Ted Mulry, John Paul Young, Cheetah's and William Shakespeare, the singer not the poet and a couple of AC/DC songs. They produced the first 6 of George's little brother's band AC/DC once again after Bon died. George also played Base Guitar for them for a little while. They also produced for The Angels, Ted Mulry Gang, John Paul Young, Cheetah, and William Shakespeare. Some of the song they wrote were Monday , I got Friday on my Mind, was covered over 100 times, including by David Bowie. Evie was and Epic Writen for Stevie wright and part i covered by Suzie Quatro, Walking in the Rain written by they for their band Flash n the Pan was covered by Grace Jones, Hard Road covered by Rod Stewart, Guitar Band covered by The Living End, Run for the Red Light Covered by Meat Loaf, Yesterdays Heros covered by the Bay City Rollers and Love is in the Air covered by Shirley Bassey, Cher, Tom Jones, Max Bygraves, Anthony Callea, etc. Harry Vanda and George Young were mentioned in the Dire Straits song Sultanas of Swing they are the Guitar George who knows all the cords a n d Harry doesn't mind. Besides the Easybeats the formed Flash in the Pan and Marcus Hook Roll Band were George's 3 other brother's Alex, Malcolm and Angus. Alex was a record producers in England and a friend of the Beatles and stayed in Scotland when his parents migrated to Australia when George was 18, Malcolm was 10 and Angus's was 8.
Some real legends on stage. RIP TO Michael. This was at the end of the Australian Made live tour concert. The tour was in 1986 and 1987. It featured a whole heap of Australian bands, from Jimmy Barnes, INXS, Mental as Anything, Divinyls, I'm Talking, Models, The Triffads, and The Saints. I've watched the concert on YT. It does not show the Mentals as one of the performers had a heart attack and died shortly after. RIP They produced this song to promote this tour. It is actually a cover of a song by another Aussie Band called The Easybeats, written by George Young (ACDC'S Angus and Malcolm Young's older brother) and Harry Vanda. Their version with lead singer Stevie Wright is good, but this one brought it into modern times. It was also on the soundtrack to the Lost Boys. It doesn't play the whole thing in the movie, but now you know Jimmy's voice. If you watch it again, he sings 3 times. Can you get all 3? The backup vocalists here include Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls RIP. PS Jimmy and INXS also wrote another song called Laying Down the Law for this tour. However, I think Good Times was the final song performed at the concert.
PS Jimmy and Tina Turner did a version of the song Simply The Best, which was for the promotion of NRL (National Rugby League). He has songs with Joe Cocker and Sam Moore. He can sing multiple genres, as does Chisel. I love Jimmy (can you tell?). I could go on for days about him. Keep going on your journey.
Good Times was Written by Vanda & Young and first released in Australia in 1968. Harry Vanda and George Young formed a band in Sydney called the Easybeats'. George Young is the older brother of Malcolm & Angus Young and George with help from their sister Margaret created and named AC/DC. Vanda & Young became both writers and producers. Its rumoured that Harry & George named in the Dire Straits classic "Sultan's of Swing" is Vanda & Young.
I LOVE BOTH OF THEM RIP MICHAEL HUTCHENCE, HE IS GORGEOUS!! JIMMY BARNES'S VOCALS AND MICHAEL VOCALS AMAZING!! I LOVE INXS, SLIDE OVER HERE AND GIVE ME A MOMENT!! AWESOME REACTION RORY 💙 AND THANK YOU ELIZABETH FOR THIS INCREDIBLE REQUEST, ROCK AND ROLL!!! 😊💓🔥🤘✌️
❤ Love INXS! Michael Hutchence was so talented (and beautiful) 💔 Happy to sneak a few of their songs onto my alternative music request list - Mystify, Original Sin, Need You Tonight, Never Tear Us Apart, Don't Change, Suicide Blonde... 🥰 Great pick, Elizabeth!
Classic 80s party tune! Thia is a cover of Aussie rock legends The Easy Beats. This version was used on the soundtrack of classic movie The Lost Boys! Michael wasn't trying to compete with Jimmy, he didn't have to. They sang in different lanes and worked great together!
That's my favorite song from "The Lost Boys" soundtrack. And it was barely in the film which is a cryin' shame.😡 But now you have to hear the studio version. It sounds SO damn good! I've never been able to listen to it without getting up & dancing. It makes you want to shimmy & shake! It demands that you do. As always, hugs from Kentucky.🩵✨️🩵✨️🩵
Hi, from Wesrern Australia. I just saw Lost Boys again in January at a winery 🍷 in Margaret River. I feel the same that they did not do the whole song in the movie. Jimmy's singing was heard 3 times, though. Most people wouldn't know him to spot it unless you are from Australia or New Zealand.
Love INXS and Jimmy.
Michael Hutchence loved Jimmy so much
INXS were a huge Australian band. Michael was a phenomenal frontman
I love all INXS songs but their song suicide blonde is my favourite (supposedly written about Michael’s girlfriend at the time another famous Aussie singer Kylie Minogue).

Beautiful Hutch! He was utterly divine ❤

Exactly! Along with guilty pleasure "Cry Little Sister" 😄
The Easybeats made this tune mate. 1968. They have a lot of great songs too!
George Young is Malcolm and Angus Young's older brother.
A couple Aussie knock around lads having fun
If you're into The Saints then check out The Sunny Boys.
Too much of a good thing.
