My mom is pro Mercedes. She has the GLE. I will always favor BMW more so we have a little rivalry going on there. I have a 50-50 love hate relationship with BMW and Lexus.

I appreciate BMW for having features/options like Digital Key, 4-piston front calipers, LED cornering lights, the Executive pkg with glass controls & LED pano roof, soft/supple leather, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond audio and NO black plastic on the exterior unlike the GLE.

You will love it. The inline six is phenomenal. People that whine and bitch about these and their buyers are either wildly ignorant, or simply don’t or can’t pay for it. There is a reason people buy Toyotas, too - nothing wrong with that. But comparing Toyota or Ford to BMW is absurd.

I have the 2024. One of my biggest complaints is when you are using a maps app if you need to change anything like air conditioning the screen changes. You have to make sure not to mess with it if you need to pay attention to the map. It’s really annoying!
The bmw X5 is the perfect SUV.
I mean that. If I could afford any one of them, I would still get the 6 cylinder because it doesn’t need more. 4.5 seconds 0 to 60 is amazing standard. The smoothness. The refinement. It’s perfect.
One word: Sound. That 4.4 V-8 sounds glorious. It’s addictive.
Have been driving BMWs since 2005. in the meantime, over 11 cars. My daily-driver is the 2021 X3 30e which has the 2 liter engine, accelerates however like a Rocket. I test drove the Mercedes GLC before deciding to stay with BMW. The Mercedes was all plastic inside. All the metal-looking bits are plastic. In BMW, they’re all metal. The overall finish in BMW is vastly superior. The onboard systems, the I-Drive for example, is the best in any car. Great vid bro 👍

1 suggestion - couple of things you said was not correct so may be prepare well before e.g. no rear reclining seats, if you get executive package, it comes with it

Do all BMW SUVs have the different drive modes?
I mostly use Efficient mode on my X1 and it's amazing. It still gives me the power and also ~30mpg in mostly mix urban driving and up to 40mpg long trip highway (I regularly drive 130 miles one way trip on weekends where around 110 miles of it are highway and the 20 miles split between before and after exiting highway).
2024 X5 is My Favorite German SUV. I Really Like the Split Tail Gate Hatch Back.
I just purchased a 2024 X5 M Sport package in Brooklyn Gray. I had a 2018 X5 (for almost 5 years) and traded it in for a Lexus RX 350 F Sport. BORING car. I kept it for 1.5 years and traded it in the new 2024 X5. I love the new X5 ... my only gripe is the ridiculously small A/C vents. I have to put the power on high (level 5) or one notch below high (level 4) to try to keep the car cool inside the cabin. MAJOR flaw in design. I also miss the hard buttons for climate control and the heated steering wheel.

Nice vid. I had an x5 yrs ago and became a money pit w 75k miles on it. Let’s cut to chase here. I’d like to fall in love w x5 again. Seems nice. Is this car a perfect suv if you lease and flip it every 2-3 years and forget owning for many or no? Everyone knows bmws are great when new but once you hit 50k miles it seems like someone in Germany presses a button and car starts leaking oil. Major expensive repairs are needed etc. is this still the case here now? Thanks

Great video. I’m in the market for a new vehicle and have had my heart set on the Jaguar F-Pace the last couple months as I love its design. But I think you just persuaded me into considering the 2025 X5. It also comes with a lot more goodies than the Jag for the same price. A big negative for me about the BMW is that it seems like every other car on the road where I live is a BMW.
My wife just got the same exact X5 except with the silver stone interior. She had her heart set on the jaguar f-pace also. The bmw is way more car for the money. She loves it and I love it.
I had a Jaguar f pace s before I ordered a 2024 bmw x5. I love the way the f pace sounded and it was very sporty, which I loved….but the BMW feels and rides like a better car. I decided to order the m sport package with the 22 inch black wheels and blacked out grill which makes it a little more special and sporty looking on the road…so although I do see lots of X5 around, I do think mine looks a little unique. It’s a solid smooth and fast driving suv and I’ve really enjoyed it. It has tons of power and feels luxury, esp the new interior!

as a owner of x5..here are worst things that i found
1. clamshell trunk. when only the top is open, u will find urself standing too close to the trunk that makes ur foot to trigger kick close sensor
2. walk close, away auto lock unlock option is freaking annoying if u r at home since they removed "exclude home" option.
3. u have to hold the trunk button to close. not press and release...press and Hold~!
4. engine shut off when u open the door. when my families r waiting in the car I need to open the door -> wait few sec.->turn the engine on-> then step out.
Is the bmw x5 as reliable as the Escalade
I want an X5 but to get it to look like that you are no where near $65k 😢
I’m an Audi guy, will never own another Mercedes, but I might consider a X5. Has to be a six…..or maybe an eight. 😊. SQ8.

@@dwnshft I've been interested in the 45e / 50e for a while, especially since it comes with the air suspension, but a BMW mechanic on the forums said to stay away -- some sort of issue with the batteries / charging system and they have to get towed in.

I have scrutinized, reviewed picked apart and seen every piece of data concerning the 2019 to current base BMW X5!
And it is hands down the best overall luxury midsized suv with the best performance driving experience, aside the Porsche Cayenne, and I’m not talking the X5 M Competition either!

GLE in EU performance is trash. Poor engine. X5 is amazing . Major downside is the driving assistant always to interrupt, sometimes waring sounds at weird moments , agressieve stops ....

iDrive8 is an abomination. The 8 shortcut buttons are gone. Climate control buttons are gone. Heated seats and ventilated seats are now have to be turned on / off in software. Manual turning on of low beam headlights and PARKING LIGHTS are in iDrive. Was the turn-style headlight switch too complicated, for BMW? Even the HEATED STEERING WHEEL BUTTON is gone. Won't buy another BMW until BMW undoes iDrive 8 buttonless stupidity.
Agreed. Keep the buttons for HVAC, audio, etc. Dumb move putting it in the software.

@@m0601168 after all the economy cars go butonless as well, I think there will be a trend reversal in the future. Where craftsmanship, and physical buttons, etc will be a Hallmark of luxury, rather than big, cheap ,screens in touch capacitive garbage.

The 3 worst things are the face of that thing, throwing hvac, seat warmers, drive distance etc into the crap screen, and the face of that thing. Everything on the front besides the grille and the lights looks so out of place with the rest of the car, it's like it got in a front end wreck and just threw on the nearest random crap it could find.
The fake vents behind the front wheels can also fuck right off. Looks insecure not confident

Its reliable 😂😂. The engine on my 2018 went south due to lack of lubrication at 25K miles.
Out of warranty, I had to buy a new engine at 15 gand. Beautiful it is, reliable, not, now I own a Lexus RX 350.

Not sure if I'm a fan of the new DRLs, found the old design still pretty timeless.
And those dual screens, what a travesty. Those original 8 shortcut buttons were what made iDrive 7 iconic. Makes the user interface more difficult to interact with.

I traded my 2021 X5 for a 2024 and was little skeptical about the large screen and I drive 8, I’ve gotta say there’s a quick learning curve and I don’t miss all the buttons. Everything you use all the time like climate and media is easily accessible and the boost in HP and torque more than makes up for it. Only problem is it’s so fast and quiet you have to watch your speed!

That front bumper is hideous, and the new reduced-size AC vents are a joke.
You forgot a worst: it is in the top 10 fastest depreciating vehicles out there. Resale value after 5 years is pathetic. That tells me it is way over priced.

@@dwnshft I bought my X50e 2024 for 85k new. You shouldn't buy a luxury car if you worried about resale value, because well you can't afford it in the first place then imo...I got a huge credit from the government for mine plus 5% off tho...

Sorry mate. Such a worse take on actual car review. At 4:22 you notice the gas lift but not the gaping hole where spare tire goes? It’s okay to applaud but also worth to point out shortfalls wherever applicable for a reputable review channel.
