I’m breastfeeding 8 month old baby #4. My biggest problem is food addiction. Ugh! I’ve been doing IF with MyFitnessPal for 2 weeks now, and I’m down 6 pounds. It helps me limit food intake, so I will continue using both. It is extremely important to make sure you are consuming nutritious meals. You can get more food on your plate and remain within your calorie budget if you are eating healthy.

I would love to try that rock salt pot home remedy, but not sure if it’s too late. I definitely appreciate the information you provided based on your body and advising for mamas to get to know their body and their supply. Thank you !
I’m in pretty much the exact same boat as you right now! I’m 8 weeks postpartum, breastfeeding (I pump too) and gained about 40 lbs overall during my pregnancy and lost 20 after 2 weeks 😭 how has the weight loss been for you since you posted this comment?
I am 4 months postpartum with baby #2 and I am struggling. I have that ravenous appetite. I haven't lost any weight since 6 weeks postpartum. Unless I eat super healthy while breastfeeding, i don't loose weight. This pandemic isn't helping. Thanks for the motivation.
I’ve been doing it since my Bub was two weeks and I’ve lost 20 kilos including the weight loss from giving birth. You can do it just eat the right foods and calorie count. He’s almost three months now
Does it affect your milk supply with intermittent fasting? I'd like to do IF again because it really worked with me before I got pregnant. I just want to know if it doesn't affect my milk supply. I'm exclusively breastfeeding my now 1 yr old baby.
I ate high protein (75-100 grams a day) and fat diet when I was pregnant, I gained 70lbs and I've lost 80, I EBF but started adding formula around 8 months because my boy is large, he took all my pregnancy fat and more, he was 25lbs at about 6 months, I'm 100lbs.
I wish i watched this right after i gave birth and not months out. My belly is so big and im regaining weight id lost after birth. I feel so horrible and depressed
Much like diets in general, weight loss supplements aren’t right for everyone. However, if you are looking to shed some extra pounds and think that you can do it without affecting your baby in any way, feel free to give them a try. But again-if at all possible-we encourage you to see your OB-GYN or midwife before taking any supplements while breastfeeding. I need 1950 to maintain but with breastfeeding I need like 2,400 💀 So I lost the baby weight pretty fast lol But knowing your maintenance is soooo helpful. ❤ Thanks for sharing
Oh my gosh! I’ve been trying to pump after almost every nursing session and have not been able to produce more than 1 oz during those sessions it’s so discouraging! It’s so tiring and now I’m thinking of adding a middle of the night session if my son doesn’t wake up in the middle of the night to increase milk supply.
Baby is probably emptying you well and that’s why you’re not getting much after. Have you tried Hakaa on the contralateral side when baby nurses to catch letdown? It’s the easiest way I found to build a milk stash.
In my first pregnancy I was only able to produce 1oz total from my two breast after 2 months of trying. This second pregnancy I take digestive support like betaine Hcl (similar stomach acid) because I had trouble digesting meat. Now, I’m producing 2 oz in my first 3 days of pumping. You can also talk to your doctor about getting lactation medications, which I used in my first pregnancy but it didn’t work because my digestion was terrible. Hope this works for you.
Hi Jenny! Great video! I was wondering if you maybe can make a video about breastfeeding in general, and maybe address some of the cosmetic concerns mothers might have, like sagging breasts or other changes. Thank you!
My calories are in my drinks! Yes, I love Starbucks. So, I'm trying to cut that out, and focus on eating healthy, high protein food so my milk is giving my son what He needs. Oats with fresh fruit, an egg with an avocado on toast, and then dinner varies!
I'm watching this now 4 months postpartum from with my c section baby. I hope you healed well. I don't know why but when I saw you didn't get any replies I hoped that your postpartum went well and you're okay now :)
Her maintenance is 1600, but since breast feeding uses calories, she’s eating about 300 more. Most likely that still has her in about a 200 calorie deficit per day, for a total of about 1,400 calories down a week. This is a good about for a healthy rate of weight loss. She’s also decreasing her carb levels which can help. But you don’t want to cut calories too drastically while breast feeding or it will decrease your supply. Idk if this helps
I work on the 6th floor and I find they taking the stairs up in the morning is a great workout and start to my day. I’ve fallen off with that lately and need to get back to it.
I loved the last part. After my first son it took me a bit to really drop weight. My 2nd im older this time and I was hard on myself till I realized how long it took me so this time I'm eating better I'm drinking a ton of water and I'm doing some yoga and dancing
Thank you for this!!! I just had my baby in May and I'm also breastfeeding. I have been struggling to get back on track 😔 Your boys are so cute. "Don't eat my donut!" 😂😂😂
My breast milk would be COMPLETELY INSUFFICIENT if I ate like this and my 12 week old would be PISSED. Maybe when he starts eating other foods and breastfeeding together… but salmon salad is not going to make good, rich breast milk for me.😔
I have been intermittent fasting for 5 years now so it’s just become a way of living. As long as you eat adequate calories, should not affect milk production. Everyone is different though
I tried slowly cutting my calories down to 1900 over the summer and I almost completely lost my milk once I got that low. it took me 2 weeks to get it back up I’ve never been so panicked
Reducing calories puts your body into stress, causing cortisol to rise and your body to store fat. Balancing hormones and aligning with the natural life cycles is the best way to lose weight. I coach postpartum women on regaining their health and body and see this same thing often. Don't stress, nourish yourself and baby and you will do amazing!
I've hardly lost weight since losing my initial.....I guess swelling after birth. People will see me with my baby and ask me if I'm pregnant again. So, even breastfeeding, I'm struggling.
Hi Jenny, how about when you're feeling hungry after breastfeeding and you're in your fasting window? How dyou manage that? Thanks so much for this. been looking for some tips like this ages ago.
When I’m hungry, I usually try water or fizzy water first. I’m not super strict about intermittent fasting all the time if I am just trying to maintain weight. It’s all about consistency 👍🏼
Such a great video thanks for all your tips. Also how do you get the willow to work so great I feel that I can’t get them to empty breast completely when I use them .
I was reading a lot of you Facebook group. But I still don’t think willow fully empties me. Some things that I found worked for me - containers worked better than bags - measure you nipples (your nipples do get smaller with time so it’s good to remeasure during your breastfeeding journey) - good supportive bra - try leaning back - try hand expression a little before Hope that helps!
I'm 7 months pregnant but feeling soooo fat and gross. I've already gained 30lbs so far. I'm hoping low carb and IF after baby comes will help shed it quickly. Thanks for the info!
How did u come up with the amount you need to maintain? Trying to figure this out cause my body is screaming for a pick me up (feels like a blood sugar crash) after breastfeeding frequently and often my calories exceed 3000 cals intuitively following bodily signals.
www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html I use that to calculate how much I need to maintain. Mine is 1500 and then I add 500 calories for breastfeed. For reference I’m 5’4 and 128 Lbs with minimal regular exercise
I am 3 months pp and the weight hasnt shifted since 6 weeks T.T Thanks for your tips. much needed motivation and will start counting calorie today! Could you please advise if baby starts dropping a feed at night, do I need to pump to maintain my supply at night?
I remember when Wyatt started sleeping through the night, I would pump right before I went to bed (sometimes that midnight) and then fed him dream feed around 5 AM! That way my supply was still up and he slept longer.
It’s like how you produce urine even when you don’t drink water. As long as you’re eating enough calories within 24 hours, you should still be able to produce enough. Everyone is different though and you might be sensitive to the calorie reduction and produce less.
I drink black coffee almost every morning 😅 because my kids are horrible sleepers. Some people have noticed that it makes baby more gasy. I have not noticed that with either kiddos. Definitely safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
You didn't menstruate, you bled after giving birth which is normal, and now you're not menstruating because it takes time for your body to have a cycle after pregnancy and giving birth, some don't get it till they are done breastfeeding, it's normal and I don't think it has anything to do with not loosing weight.
Stretch marks are scars so unfortunately no easy way to get rid of them. There’s plastic surgery or micro needling. Though micro needling does not fully take them away just possibly fade some (no guarantee).
@@Sara-wv3ms I started using nipple guards which happen to be HUGE life savers 😭 they’ve helped my baby latch on correctly so now when I don’t use them I’m pain free
Hi Jenny, I didn't understand you, you said that you need 1600 qar to maintain your weight and you consume 1900 to lose weight? Is it because of breastfeeding. I also calculated for myself and I also need 1600 calories to maintain my weight. I'm breastfeeding an 18 month old who feeds a lot. I've been following intermittent fasting and calorie counting and I'm consuming an average of 1500 calories a day. I'm fasting 14 hours a day. I don't exercise at all. I lost 2 kgs in 4 days. But I'm feeling very weak and tired though. Am I doing it wrong. Should I consume more calories? I also have hypothyroidism. Please help me. I felt inspired to follow this diet plan after seeing your video.
I recommend talking to your doctor before doing any diet. Generally 1500 calories is too little especially while breastfeeding because you are burning more calories. That is why I eat 1900 (if not more). For sustainable weight loss, I would aim for 0.5 kg weight loss a week.
Ug....need to lose 20-25 to get back to prepregnancy and prequarantine lol, I had the best intentions with a peaches and cream green smoothie that I made, but I couldn't do it it was too green if that makes sense

I eat 1,400 while breastfeeding and my supply still bussin
Badly need to lose weight right now I'm 73 kg. Today when I'm pregnant I'm just around 60 kg😢😢😢
Hello , thank you for sharing you are amazing !!! Well , I still breastfeed 🤱 but I wanna lose my belly , I was c section , my baby is 4 months ,
The uterus shrinks anyway , IT dosent need help
How long do you fast?
Hey lovely, can I still do the rock salt remedy? I’m over 3 months PP?
What breas tpump are you using in the video please?🙂
It’s the Willow!
@@drjennale thank you!
So how do you produce milk when your fasting? I think I would not have milk if I fasted.
It’s like how you produce urine even when you don’t drink water. As long as you’re eating enough calories within 24 hours, you should still be able to produce enough. Everyone is different though and you might be sensitive to the calorie reduction and produce less.
Loved your video , it helped me a lot to remember how to continue
Please do a vlog about what to eat please. What is in salmon salad please.
I have this older video of an what I eat in a day!!

What is that application used for tracking calories thanks
My Fitness Pal !
Your kids are adorable!
Thank you! Your explanations were so helpful, can you plse talk about caffeine and breastfeeding? Is it ok?
I drink black coffee almost every morning 😅 because my kids are horrible sleepers. Some people have noticed that it makes baby more gasy. I have not noticed that with either kiddos. Definitely safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
@@drjennale Really??
If you're in your fasting window is lemon infused water okay to drink?
I would say yes!
Whats your height? ❤
How do I know how much calories do I need to eat?
There are calorie calculators online! This differs for everyone based on your size and activity level www.calculator.net/calorie-calculator.html
Hey Jenny thanks for all the information I was wondering what app you use to keep count of calories?
MyFitnessPal !
How about ur milk supply dose get low with the diet
I have not seen a supply drop as long as my calorie deficit is not too big and I stay hydrated!
After my delivery i had mensuration for 45 days and then i m not having it any more periods .. is this the reason for not loosing weight??
You didn't menstruate, you bled after giving birth which is normal, and now you're not menstruating because it takes time for your body to have a cycle after pregnancy and giving birth, some don't get it till they are done breastfeeding, it's normal and I don't think it has anything to do with not loosing weight.
Thank you so much for your video ❤️❤️❤️
Please tell me how I can remove my stretch mark
Stretch marks are scars so unfortunately no easy way to get rid of them. There’s plastic surgery or micro needling. Though micro needling does not fully take them away just possibly fade some (no guarantee).
Hi doc. Do we still need to maintain the net carbs(e.g.50-60) while achieving 1900 calories while on IF? TIA 😊
Do you eat anything sweet
Thanks for this info
Love this! Thank you! How do I know what my maintenance calorie goal is?
There are calculators online. You just but in your age, weight, height, and activity level
Does breastfeeding increases the size of breast ? How to lose breast after birth
Yes! Engorgement can make you go up a couple sizes. Breast usually deflate after you stop breastfeeding
Jenny Le I hate big breast when we can stop a child from breastfeed to lose breastsize?
Jenny Le can we lose weight while breastfeeding? With healthy diet and with some exercise and all this will do some changes on breast :(
If I ate that many calories I'd be so huge. I'm 5'7 breastfeeding twins and I need to stay under 1000 calories to be healthy or I blow up 😢
Thank you ❤️💕
What type of breast pump??
Willow!
I have a question, I’m a first time mom, is it natural for breastfeeding to hurt?
It is common but I wouldn’t say natural. I would set up an appointment with a lactation Consultant to ensure it’s not latch casing pain.
@@Sara-wv3ms I started using nipple guards which happen to be HUGE life savers 😭 they’ve helped my baby latch on correctly so now when I don’t use them I’m pain free
Anyone knows the name of the app she uses

Hi Jenny,
I didn't understand you, you said that you need 1600 qar to maintain your weight and you consume 1900 to lose weight?
I was 72 kgs and in 4 days I'm 69 kg.
I recommend talking to your doctor before doing any diet. Generally 1500 calories is too little especially while breastfeeding because you are burning more calories. That is why I eat 1900 (if not more). For sustainable weight loss, I would aim for 0.5 kg weight loss a week.
@@drjennale thanks for replying.i really appreciate it.
The kabouche drink has alcohol in it is it OK to drink while breastfeeding. Also what are the benefits of drinking that?

Yes!! Need this so much right now being almost 5 months pp
We got this 💪🏼
Same 3 months pp need to lose these 10lbs!
This was the easiest way I’ve found to lose weight. Since I have a fairly big appetite and tend to over eat 😅
Ug....need to lose 20-25 to get back to prepregnancy and prequarantine lol, I had the best intentions with a peaches and cream green smoothie that I made, but I couldn't do it it was too green if that makes sense
Hi! Can I ask what brand/kind is you breastpump? Thanks you for sharing this!
