I feel that this is something you just need to be careful of it’s not greed. But spending all meant for your kids education on this is not worth anything the reason that these are often just not even a bother is that. They’re obviously scamming you the signs were there the aggressive shoving of jewelry how the gold looks like it was quality painted and reflects to where you can notice surfaces is a big red flag. But none the less it’s something you learn from for me they got her with the false promise of a rich family this can also take the form of a family, who’s on the road begging if you do actually bother. They will use this same tatic and they’re just running form city to city state to state and removing traces like having a throw away phone if they make the bank they just dip it they prey on your kindness and then run.

Sad story but hopefully a lesson for others. It is great to try to help someone, but if you are not in a financial position so help without putting yourself at risk, don't give money. And if someone offers you something for trade or collateral for money, tell them no. If the stuff they are offering is actually worth something, they can pawn it or sell it for money.

The man says he needs money for gas to drive back home because they were on a trip but didn't have enough to get back. Also pointing out this man is in his car asking me with his car running, even not stepping out to ask me. I was hesitant at first to say no just to help possibly, but the moment he pulled out a gold chain, I didn't believe him anymore and then proceeded to say no. The kid started saying in a sad voice, "Please help us," repeatedly, but I walked away saying I can't help you.

Aside from the usual the red flags are obvious and don’t hand strangers money, don’t be greedy. I’m sure part of the reason people fall for the scam it greed as in the scammer promise to pay you more back. They basically use both compassion and greed against you which is why some people who aren’t aware of these type of scam fall for it.
Also I do think scams like this should be taught in school but it’s not which is why some people particulary young naive people can fall for scams like these.

I didn't know about this scam until it happened to me in Texas last week. I was out walking getting some exercise and this guy in a car pulls up to me. He hands me a gold ring that had 24k stamped on the inside and says can you help me out with some gas money? My dumbass thought it was real but I was thinking I'd feel real bad about taking this guy's ring, I thought it could be a family heirloom or something. I hand it back to him and said no sorry man I can't, I would feel really bad about only giving you $100 bucks for a solid gold ring thats probably a family heirloom, then I ask him why don't you go to a pawn shop and sell it there, they'd give you a lot more money than what I'd give you? He says he has no ID, then I asked him how are you out driving a car with no ID? He's says sorry my English is bad like he didn't understand the question. I'm thinking hes out here driving around with no license. He takes off his figaro chain and hands it to me and asks if I can help him out with some money. It had 14k stamped on it and I was now wondering if it was real. He said it was real and swore to Allah it was. Now I'm thinking hard and was curious so I caved and said OK but I can only help you out with $20. He says OK I give him a $20 and he give me the figaro but as he's giving me the figaro he claimes it's a $2000 figaro and wanted $60, I said sorry man I can only do 20 for a chain I don't know is real or fake. He says OK no problem and drives off.

This usually happens to the greedy people.
She wanted to double/triple her money and to have as much gold as possible, at the end she got scammed of all her money from the account probably

It's not sad. Come on, people. The ones who buy it thought they could come up on someone else's supposedly misfortune but instead got played for their money. Admit it, they got out hustled . You can't tell me they drove to two ATM's to get money to genuinely help those people. LOL😅

They should of told the people to go to a pawn shop but she thought she was getting g real gold. So she thought wow I'm going to make alot of money. I hope they don't come back. Well they didn't and neither did the money.

I am still wondering what the scam was with this encounter I had. Was at a gas station, broad daylight, and this cute guy drives up wanting to sell me some perfume. I just laughed, told him I am NOT buying perfume at a gas station!! Drove off. But I am wondering… what the racket was? Maybe he was just selling things he shoplifted at the nearby shopping center?

Can't really feel too bad for that.. like.... just ..... Nevermind...
And btw.. i literally had this happen to me in Tracy the other day.. they're all over the country now.. i was getting gas when a big ol Chevy nice truck pulled up, with a dude wearing a bunch of "gold" chains and rings.. (i had literally just finished watching videos of this the day before).. so as soon as he started saying he needed help i told him straight up, "nope, I'm broke".. then, them being the shameless crooks they are, he started trying to say his sob story and pointed at one of his rings, telling me he'll trade. At the point i got mad and told him, "u think I'm an idiot?, I'm not the one to be trying this sht on foo, if u have all these things your wearing and big ass truck you're driving, then u could put it to use and get a job, tf is wrong with u ppl thinking u could scam ppl, who already have nothing to begin with?".. he just looked at me with wide eyes, and drove off in a hurry, probly thinking i was gonna call the cops.. but na, if he woulda tried something else, i was just gonna snatch his chains and sock his ass.. I'm already going thru TOO MUCH BS, I've worked so much to have everything taken from me, and now losing everything due to this economy, i was literally trying to figure out how i was gonna turn my power back on at my apartment, so u could understand why i got so mad.. if he wouldn't have been so persistent i probly would've let it go, but that's really how they ALL are.. then they have the nerve to get mad if u tell them nicely that u can't help them.. like you're "supposed" to give them something, and how dare u tell them no.. they have no fkn shame.

There was a scamming attempt on me by some Middle Eastern guy he claimed that he needed gas money. And tried to sell me some jewelry luckily for me my family is in the jewelry business so I knew the jewelry he showed me was a fake. So I quickly told him that’s not my f-king problem and he quickly drove away too bad I didn’t have the chance to take a picture of his license plate.

That scam is ancient, a new one is where there'll be a couple people playing a violin through a portable speaker and begging with the typical sob story...and the music sounds great and they really look like they're playing..but its all just pre-recorded music being played through a speaker...LOL! The older people give them money hand over fist!

If it's real gold or silver it will be marked. With a gold or silver mark and KT count usually at the clasp point, on the necklace and inside the bands for the rings. Not to mention gold has a specific color to it that is hard to imitate without gold filled

Tons of fake jewelry is marked and tons of real jewelry isn’t. Markings are not a sign it’s real. Magnets help if you need to test something quickly but the only way to truly know is an acid scratch test.
