I've been thinking about the model one for the same reasons you are using it and very much appreciate this demo and explications. It's an elegant way to jam. Thanks so much
Tip: You can also put the AUX returns through the master filter. This way you can still use all 6 stereo tracks and control the frequencies of the reverb at the same time. I use it this way because I need all six stereo tracks.
@@tendingtropic7778 That's easy. Just connect your effects using Aux send and Aux return. You can route the Aux returns through the master filter with the button [RETURN 1-2 TO MASTER FILTER]. This button is located on the left in the middle of the console.
But then you can‘t do the overdub method (feedback by aux knob) anymore and you can‘t put the delay in the second aux send (would be reverb in classic setup)
How does the Model 1 handle the mono send into the Benidub? Does it mix L/R if you only connect one of the aux outputs? Maybe most of your source are effectively mono so it doesn’t matter too much for your setup? I guess you just split/duplicate the mono signal into the channel for the return.
This was cool; thank you. I just got the MODEL 1. Can you do a video on creative mixing techniques? I’m still trying to get out of the Pioneer mindset. Thank you!
you own an amazing setup.. but the most important thing.. you have the touch! thanks for sharing.. I didn't know that delay pedal.. it sounds really good. .but it's a mono delay!? are you inserting it to a stereo track in mono?
Was trying to decide between the ssl big 6 and RME ucxii went RME to save a grand now it appears inevitable I will get a model 1 & instead of saving a grand it will end up been an extra one 🤦🏻 Will make a great combo though 😃
I am wondering whether you have experimented using the OTO Boum with the Model 1 or if the drive and filters of the mixer effectively replace the need for another layer of compression and filtering.
Much thanks for all you share on your channel! I have a similar question that others have asked. How is it that you can use the mono effect Benidub to process the stereo signal of the Octatrack? How did you patch this? And does the effect become stereo?
can you explain how the pedals are connected? The aux out goes to pedal and then back into the channel 6 as a stereo feed? Is that right? Does anything go into the aux return?
I really like the use of feedback and the amount of control you have on the sound. U cant get that kind of sound in ur daw imo. Well, u kinda can, but its much nicer live. My only advice would be to be a little careful with feedback. I had a few bad experience from not paying enough attention. But u seem like u have it covered 😉
You can do this with any mixer that has aux sends. My mixer is presonus, has three aux sends and it cost $600 brand new. The model mixer that he is using is $3000.
Great simple explanation on how you achieve these sounds. How a simple sequence can be given a whole new life
I never thought to plug the fx return into a proper channel, rather than the fx return itself, good trick to have more control over it 👍🏻thanks a lot

Yeah that is a good one!
I don't understand, how do you hook this up?

@@ronaldvonk-nl thanks, thats good to know! then the 1.4 model might be enough for me....

Thanks for the knowledge... I'm a Benidub lover and I'm still exploring the possibilities
My pleasure!
Beautiful sounds
thanks!

Soon!
How do you send return channel to the separate mixer channel? Does it internal routing of model1 or do you use external wires?
external wires!

thanks!yes it is mono , works fine for my needs!

not replacing, but still very useful. The compression of the oto is great on the master.

you got one bis limit i have. I send only the left side of aux 2 to benidub, and the out of benidub get into a rca splitter. Not ideal, but it works.
Really love that mixer. If only it had individual outs on a D Sub I would buy it for sure.
Cue B helps, but yeah, would be great to have direct outs

yes! aux sends into pedals and pedals into a stereo channel. Im not using the returns at the moment.
Keep up the good work
How do you connect the efx to that channels to control the entire mixer? I just got a model 1 but i don't know how to do the same set up as you
I explained most of it in the video, if you need help we can schedule a 1 to 1 consultation!
Sorry man, my english is not good.
Can you tell me where the cables goes in the back of the mixer please🙏
Model 1 aux to efx then efx out to where???
So so good .. is it possible to obtain the stems to this track? Would be so good to experiment with my Benidub gear over this sound you have 🙏
hello there, I have another full project for my patreon that can be downloaded. but i might start preparing some stems, good idea!
Very good - thank you
How do you connect the Benidub ?? It is not a stereo pedal
I just use a rya to mono converter

sometimes I did a mess with feedback ahah
thanks! there arent that many mixers with stereo sends! too bad it doesnt have dedicated return inputs
it does! it have 2 returns with trim and drive circuits!

for sure.
